Teofimo Lopez will defend his WBO and Ring Magazine titles against Jamaine Ortiz on Thursday, Feb. 8, at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Lopez-Ortiz headlines an action-packed televised doubleheader that kicks off Big Game Weekend.
In the 10-round lightweight co-feature, U.S. Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis faces Puerto Rican former two-division world champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza.
Promoted by Top Rank, in association with Takeover Promotions and CES Boxing, tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. PT and can be purchased at AXS.com.
Lopez-Ortiz and Davis-Pedraza will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.

    • Only two rounds that Adorno got the round only those two rounds that Ortiz knock down. But all 6 rounds is for Ortiz... That's why one Judge scored 76-74 in favoured to Ortiz. Good job scored that one Judge. We all know that boxing scoring is by round.

Carlos Monzon himself struggled with Journeymen on his way up, his fellow countryman and excellent 160lb Challenger druing the 1950's Eduardo Lausse did as well ..   • If this fight went 12, like it should have, Ortiz would have won. Judges lacked the foresight to see that, HOWEVER, I personally would have given it to Adorno based on the 2 knockdowns.

    • Heart is such a vague idea that means nothing for scoring a fight. Getting punched in the face because you leave your head on the center line for every exchange is bad boxing. Being able to take the punch means nothing if you’re not capitalizing for it.

  • Jermaine has a more controlled complex dog in him meaning his is still being under controlled not talking and still sticking to basics in order win a fight unlike Teos when he fought Kamboses to show that dog it was very wild and one dimensional from round 1-12 I could see how Teo could win but at the same time I could see how Ortiz could win as well a very 50-50 fight but I got Jermaine via Split.

    • Nah. I saw them two winning 4 rds each but with 2 KDs, JA should have won. But then the judges had JO winning 5 rds and JA had 3 but with 2 KDs so it's a draw.
