A nice big copper haul to chuck on the stack thats for sure. Now sit back relax and enjoy todays Monster Motor Melt Down😁.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

  • Now would you believe it’s over two months since my last motor melt. I thought I would do a big one today but not my biggest. I chose this as it was the largest one I could lift safely in an out of my jeep as I don't have anyone to help me but what a great haul of copper in this bad boy. An awesome addition to the stack that's for sure so sit back check this vid out and hopefully I'll see all you sensational subs next Friday👋🏻Have the best weekend you possibly can😁

  • The 3000 RPM (2 Pole) rated AC motors will tend to have more copper than the slower rated machines. If you can find them, get the open drip proof motors as they usually have more copper than the enclosed motors, that includes all speed ranges.

  • I so agree, coppers individual look is so irregular and so stunning I just can’t get enough. I actually used borax in my lacquer coated copper wire melt about a week ago and I was amazed how clean the bars were with absolutely no imperfections, like pitting and carbon from the graphite mould that can get drawn into it. I use about 1 table spoon per kilo and incorporate at the beginning of each melt. I also found it keeps your crucible very clean.🥳 I’m hooked it worked great on lacquer coated copper wire and dirty wire. Thanks again Bstackd 😊👍

    @heathstott@heathstott Жыл бұрын
    • I have been melting for a few years now, I thought you only used borax in Brass and stuff, but you can use it in copper? Thats cool

      @cesare8270@cesare8270 Жыл бұрын
    • @@cesare8270 absolutely %100 mate, very clean bars. Just try to remove as much as possible with the back of a spoon. It will build up on the back of the spoon as you move it around the crucible. You need to take it in and out of the crucible at regular intervals to allow it to solidify on the spoon. I actually have a bucket of water next to me when I do this. It helps speed up the skimming process. But ‘do not’ fully cool the spoon, only briefly submerge the spoon and be sure there is no moisture still present as a steam explosion is imminent. Just be careful. Perfect impurity free bars await.😊
