Shaquille O'Neal aka Shaq has been helping people for a very long time even when no one is watching. He's inspiring people to give to others who are in need. Even though Shaq is an NBA superstar and very successful, he still takes time out of his day to visit schools and give back to the community. This is what life is all about.

    • Exactly......not as long as I am alive. If he continues like this, he very well may be remembered more for what he did for his community than what he did on the court. Shaq was 10000% one of my hero's growing up. It makes me love him even more as an adult because he is doing things like this. He isn't out there arguing about his basketball legacy, trying to promote his ego. He is out here giving to families in need. I love and respect that 100,000,000,000,000,000%. LONG LIVE SHAQ (aka my favorite nickname he had....... THE SHAQTUS!!!!!!!!)

    • LOL No Selfish rich people come ang go and forgotten by the next rich and selfish individual. It's the folks, like Mr. O'Neil that are remebered long after the person is gone, not for the fame or the money they achieved, but for what they did with that fame and/or money. Mr. O'Neil is one of those people tjat will have an impact on society long after he passes, which I hope isn't for a very long time, his dedication to his community and the world as a whole is a rarity for sports legends. I don't care much for sports. Never saw the social usefulness of it. Multimillion dollars prima donnas bitching about how terrible life is in this country while driving a 6 figure car to their 7 figure mansion in a gated community. This man holds true to what his parents raised him to be. One damned fine human being.

  • There are so many Shaq’s out there that are nameless… the most giving people don’t have much money, but give their love, time, energy, compassion and empathy. What I love about Shaq is he doesn’t just cut a cheque or pick up a tab and leave…. He is invested and will build relationships and help create a sense of community through his time and his words and not strictly because of his fame and his $$$. Many of these celebrities cut cheques and make donations to charities and foundations for publicity, but in reality it is mostly tax write offs and they are choosing for their money to go to instead of the government. A guy that buys a lady her groceries, a used car, or a laptop is doing it 100% to give back and maybe for a little bit of self gratification that he is able to do this and it really doesn’t effect his financial situation. 100 percent respect for Shaq!
