  • Trying to build this in the US with products available here... Spent 6 weeks of building and rebuilding, and rebuilding, and rebuilding the last one. I just couldn't keep all the joints on extrusions from shifting out of square. I went through 16m of 2020, 3 taps, an unknown number of m5/m6 bolts and tnuts, jb weld, sugru (which is garbage) and destroyed my Bosch 2632. In the end, I could've bought a jointer for the same price after the cost of the first build.

  • One day, someone is actually going to make a video of the finished product and what it does in the beginning of the video to determine whether we want to invest time watching a whole video to find out if we are even interested in what the thing is going to do. Yes, I get there is a fast forward button, I just dont understand why youtubers dont get the concept and just start building stuff without first showning the completed project. Seems they'd get a lot more views if they started off showing what the thing does and show it being used and THEN showing the build process.

    • If he were taking it on and off it would be a problem. But if this is a permanent adapter I bet it holds up. Other way is to glue a block shaped to the rear of the tool to give a connection point. I've seen that online.

    • What if the bench is not 100% flat??

      @ZeldasGhost@ZeldasGhost Жыл бұрын
    • @@ZeldasGhost depends how not flat. If it's a divot it won't make any difference. If the surface is twisted what you're planing will get the same shape. But in general when you're planing something like this you need a flat reference surface. Many wood workers use a torsion box for worktops and assembly tables for that reason.

  • A good idea and neat execution. Due to the design, a high degree of accuracy will be required so that the guides run smoothly over the entire adjustment range. One or the other improvement or simplification will make the replica even better and easier. For example, by adjusting the distance on both sides to the available belt lengths and belt pulley diameters, the tensioning device for the central connecting belt could be omitted, as with the two lateral belts, but then the device might not be quite as compact and might no longer fit into the overall system see in the other video. It's nice to see the tricks used and other tools that were probably also self-made, such as a pillar drill and marking gauge. Of course, also as suggestions for your own ideas and solutions. The lack of annoying background music is also very pleasant. A list of the parts required and the lubricants and adhesives used would be nice.
