Hello friends.

Just felt I had to say something about it. Huge credit to u for the great work u do bro. It's bloody brilliant to see what u can do with some learning skills, some decent tools and nice wood. Salute to u sir.. U have my respect and I'm sending it from IRELAND to u aswell..

  • nice clean work as usual. I created something very similar as a crosscut sled accessory so i dont have to change the blade orientation. line up with blade, clamp to fence, always square, no damage to jig, you can cut almost to final dimension and use a stop block to get identical pieces with bevels.

  • Being able to cut a 45* straight on the line, perfectly plumb, in one go, perfectly smooth with a hand saw tells a lot about your skills. I'm very impressed by everything you do. I think I've watched about all of your jigs videos in one day and I'm impressed each and every time by the ingenuity and the (apparent) simplicity of your every work

  • JSK thanks again for another excellent video! I notice your hand saw skills are very advanced, mine are not. Could you please consider making a magnetic hand saw guide please? I just know you could make a truly excellent jig. Many thanks from Wales in Britain.

  • AWESOME build. I am definitely impressed with your workmanship using the more basic tools. The only thing I would suggest for the corner clamps is to give it a lacquer / varnish finish and a coat of paste wax to keep glue squeeze out from sticking. Those metal combo 90/45 degree squares are amazing. Do you possible have a link for those?

  • Love your videos though I confess to watching them @ 2X speed. Cannot guess why roughly one of thirty viewers give this video a thumbs down. After 45 years of full-time woodworking, I find your approach perfectly direct and accurate. Thank you.

    @markkoons7488@markkoons74882 жыл бұрын
    • Mark, I can explain why I give it a thumbs down. The video purports to describe how to achieve an accurate 45 degree jig, emphasis being on "accurate". It does nothing of the sort. Cutting wood to an "accurate" angle, 45 or any other value, is "much" harder than it seems, this video doesn't do anything special about it.

      @raphaelklaussen1951@raphaelklaussen19512 жыл бұрын
    • @@raphaelklaussen1951 You don't think those cuts were accurate?

      @darkmagna9004@darkmagna90042 жыл бұрын
    • @@darkmagna9004 They are not, especially the 45 degree one. They all rest on the assumptions that the square is accurate, which you don't know that it is, and that the two sides of the wood planks are perfectly planar and perfectly parallel, which is not the case. The 45 deg. also introduces the glue thickness as a variable. Look at William Ng video on the 5-cut method for perfect 90 deg. cut. That is an example of what "accurate" means.

      @raphaelklaussen1951@raphaelklaussen19512 жыл бұрын
    • @@raphaelklaussen1951 fair enough. But for my purposes, any square out there is going to be accurate enough for anything I'm going to build, or for my ability to cut accurately. The square not being 90° or 45° will never be the limiting that prevents me from making perfect joins. Everything else that I do carries more error than the square

      @darkmagna9004@darkmagna90042 жыл бұрын
    • @@darkmagna9004 Fine, but don't call it "accurate". Accurate doesn't mean "good enough", it means it has to pass a suitable accuracy test. For a 45 deg miter, the accuracy test is the accumulated error over four joints. That error must be less than 0.001 in over the length of the miter. Even if your square is sufficiently accurate, your transfer to the wood is not (because marking tools aren't perfect, are not held perpendicular, etc.), that is why you can't get that level of accuracy with just a square, no matter how perfect the square itself is.

  • I've got to know. What double-sided tape do you use? Or can somebody find an analogue sold over here in the U.S.? He uses some at 4:35, although he uses it in just about every project. It's always used in such a clever way. However, the key aspect that makes it work is that holds strong but peels off easily. The box also comes with a built-in cutter, and the tape has segments for easy cutting. It looks so useful, but I don't know where to find something like that over here.

    • JSK has replied to this question in other videos - "I use this double-sided tape amzn.to/2rnNSkl amzn.to/3gb2Org, amzn.to/3cgo4KY. He uses different tape depending on the adhesion he requires. I agree though, I can't find any tape that comes anywhere near to these Japanese brands.
