Every trauma is engraved in you forever, and everyone has had experiences as a kid that started
innocently then accidentally went too far. So when three kids find a slug, what could go wrong?

This film was made by 3rd year bachelor students from "Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking" in GOBELINS, as part of a pedagogical exercise using special effects.

    • @@unknownartist689 respectfully disagree, I think the disturbing visuals really emphasize and accurately depict the traumatic experience. for folks who've experienced similar things, it feels very cathartic to see a visual representation of how it made us feel. it's intentionally making you uncomfortable, because the character is uncomfortable. I really appreciate that about art, personally

  • In 2010, 19-year-old Sam, an avid rugby player ate a slug on a dare and got rat lungworm disease that rendered him mentally sound but paralyzed for the next and last 8 years of his life

  • Exactly! When someone wants to pull a prank and the person gets hurts the excuse is "oh well they are just kids". So what if they are just kids! They just hurt someone! That kid could end up having a trauma with bugs now because of what she did! And guess what, instead of being concerned, she just laughs. The only person who was concerned was the other friend. Ugh. Anyways sorry about the rant. I've had an experience similar to this so this video hits home for me.

    • Yeah children sometimes don't have a good conscience, and mischief is not something justfiable; some sense should be put in kids, they should be taught to respect.

    • Both me and my mother had a similar experience: my father traumatized me with disturbing images of worms and maggots while my mother got scarred with frogs and toads at a very young age. We're both overcoming our fears after years.

  • Kids are more sensitive to things than adults, and that’s why things like this one shouldn’t go unnoticed, unfortunately most adults will take it as “they’re just kids”. Great work of animation 🤍

  • Interesting! In real life eating a slug is actually quite dangerous as you can contract rat lungworm, which can cause meningitis and seizures

  • This is what Entomophobia is like for me. Many said “Girls will be girls when they see a bug!”, because I panicked every time I see worms, larvae or beetles. I would have nightmares of worms, larvae and beetles eating me alive and I wouldn’t be able to move or scream for help. My parents saw my shift in fear and never asked why I was afraid as I would always collect worms, larvae and many beetles…I loved Entomology as a kid, but now I can’t even look at an image of bugs moving in large numbers clumped together. The thought of it makes me sick 😞

    • @@Zeylo89 Watched the Mummy at 7 or 8 and saw the scarab scene of it going into the guys foot, crawling under his skin, then into his brain. Didn’t know what a scarab was, so I threw it under the label “beetle”. The worms and larvae part, can’t remember exactly how it happened…possibly from a book I read or seeing a graphic scene on TV. I am aware that they only feed on dead bodies, untreated open wounds, and many instances dead skin.
