I had big problems shooting with a size 6 because my hands are really big. Didn't know a size 7 ball existed until like 3 months ago. Now I'm finally hitting some shots. Great Video👍

Ye I asked my mom and she said yes but it’s size 7 but she bought it and I like size 6 because that’s for 9-11 year olds but I’ll get used to it
Cap it's easier to shoot and carry in the air,/ palm.

I never paid attention to sports this much did not know there was like a men's and women's basketball no clue one was smaller than the other I imagine they all use the same I'm going to have to look in the store next time because I've never realized there was that difference
thx ill play with size 6 basketballs and a siza 7 ball cuz i like to freestyle alot so ill use size 6 but if there is an match ill play with size 7
I think size 6 is better for tricks/dribbling, but the lighter weight makes long distance shots less stable. Although smalles size should go into the ring easier, the heavier weight of size 7 gravity is less bouncy on the ring. I would say 3x3 balls are best hybrid between size 6 and 7. 3x3 Not many balls to choose from.

Hey, I'm a girl and I'm 15 years old. I've wanted to buy a basketball since probably 2016, but my parents never agreed. Now I can do it and I'm very excited, but I don't know which size to choose. I'm a begginer, but not 10 years old anymore so I wonder which of these sizes would be better. I have to mention that I really want to practice playing that sport and I'm a little afraid that if I'd start with a size 6 it might be a little easier, but I wouldn't be trained as good as if I'd go with a size 7. (I'm 163 cm high, simmilar to 5'4", I know I'm short but my height is not gonna crush my ambition) I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE 🙏
Thats great to hear. Women’s leagues play with a size 6. The WNBA all use a size 6. If playing competition in a girls or womens league they would also be using a size 6. If you are going to be playing against men or in a mixed league they will be using a size 7. If your not planning on playing any competition at all id recommend getting a size 6 and after a year trial a size 7 but using a size 6 as a woman is more than acceptable and never let anyone look down on that. you can check the basketball size at the valve (the small hole you pump up the ball) its the best location for all details about the ball, Among the info will be the balls size. check out our How to inflate a basketball like you made the playoffs! Hey im starting to get into competitive basketball i have a size 6 and 7 ball which should i use to improve my shooting and dribbling?
size 6 for dribbling as it is harder to control and 7 for shooting as it it bigger and needs more power/accuracy which is good for training
Go with the 7. Used for NBA..and for Most competitive youth leagues starting at 5th/ 6th grade

Go for it. Interesting fact, FIBA 3v3 uses size 6 ball. Some of the outdoor courts I played on, ppl actually prefer size 6 half of the time.

Hi there, thats great to hear that your starting basketball training 🏀👍 your going to have a great time! If you have a size 6 basketball id recommend playing with that, yes definitely, until you get a size 7 later on. If you enjoy the game you will be able to use the size 7 when you get one. I go back and forth using the 6 and 7 without much issues. But my advice would be just start now and transfer over to the 7 when you get one. Wed love to hear how you go. Size 6 is recommended for 12-14 but I'd go 7 so you get used to it earlier

Yes, the size 6 feel a lot lighter and you can tell its smaller. This effects how you shoot and how you dribble. If training to play with others i would train with the same size basketball they would be using. But for causal fitness playing on your own it won’t matter so much. What type of basketball are you playing?

Maybe they are teasing… or they don’t know that the official size basketball is a 7. Either way, if you have a size 7 basketball no matter what brand it is… that is the official size for the mens league NBA. Size 6 is the official size of the WNBA. How do you like the Evolution ball? Is it a good ball to shoot with?

Can a 9 year old practice with a size 7?
Hi there, youth basketball size for age 9-12 is normally a size 6. However lots of 9 year olds practice with a size 7. I started with a size 7 at age 6. If its for casual practice a 7 will be fine, however if the child is going to be playing on a team in a league id suggest asking the coach or association what size the youth game ball will be. Matching the childs practice basketball size to the game ball will help them translate their training into the game. Thanks for your question. 🏀😎
@@gottahoopemall Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, he is starting in a league next month and they play with a size 6. He currently trains and practices with a size 6 as well but wants me to get him a size 7 to play with. Im just concerned it'll end up being counteractive to his training.
