HENRI'S BOOGIE - FULL HD

Due to several comments asking for a decent quality version of this clip, I'm pleased to offer the full HD version of Henri Herbert's performance on the public piano at St Pancras International railway station for your viewing pleasure.
I uploaded the original as a low bit rate, low resolution quickie, due to having a lousy internet connection where I was at the time. A big regret now, given that the clip went crazy viral - but how was I to know??
So here it is, Boogie Woogie sensation Henri Herbert in full HD 1080p glory, along with a slightly remixed audio - a little more of the ambient camera sound, because the disbelievers out there are convinced this was over-dubbed, somehow. As well as the camera built in (rubbish) audio, I placed a Zoom H4n stereo recorder just behind the piano to record good quality sound with less of the background noise audible, to later synch in post production. This resulted in also picking up the sound of broken strings inside the piano, which many people are convinced is the sound of a hidden percussionist somewhere, playing a hi-hat, and therefore it must be an overdub fake studio recording setup or something!
It's shaky here and there, because I had planned to intercut my shots with those of a colleague filming on his phone (he can be seen in some shots), and therefore moved around for some different angles in the 'crowd'. However, he didn't film the whole performance and I ended up simply whacking the whole thing up on youtube as I'd filmed it. Sure, it's not the best advert for my camera operating skills, but apart from one or two haters, some 30 million people don't seem to mind too much.

    • I just found Henri moments ago and I love the music. Just a bit earlier than that I found another great pianist Terry Miles. There is a video titled THEY TRY TO BAN THE MUSIC.. SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT by the channel Terry Miles Oct 13, 2018. After it I watched a video titled THE ROCK AND ROLL PIANO POLICE by the channel Brendan Kavanagh November 4, 2017. This video was great too.

  • "but who knew it would be so popular"??? REALLY! If you have just a inkling of musical appreciation, you would know that you were listening a "master of his craft!" This cut is nothing short of FANTASTIC! Any other time, you would have to pay good money to hear what he is giving to all these people (as musically deaf as they may be) for free!

    • I'd known Henri for a couple of years prior to filming this in 2013, and worked with the band he played in - The Jim Jones Revue, so I was well aware of his talents, just not so familiar with the potential of viral videos at that time - the first version in crappy 360p resolution (due to a poor connection at the time) was uploaded in 2013. You should check out the band and some of their videos, some of which I directed/shot/edited. Here's one: kzhead.info/sun/aNZpfbSArJ6Va3k/bejne.html And one for Henri's own band: kzhead.info/sun/fNl9hMh6qJRmZJE/bejne.html Enjoy!

  • To listen to Henri playing live, would have made my day. He is an amazing boogie woogie pianist. So friggin clever with his fingers on the piano. Fantastic pianist. What is it with the morons who do not appreciate the Master at the piano? Brain dead to say the least. Still, I am fascinated by Henri’s playing. I listen to all his recordings, which make for a happy day.💖👏💖
