  • So you can mount a 45 inch tire on your tire change but can only balance up to 34 inches?? That's a bit counterintuitive isn't it??

  • I just got new tires and saw that one tire don't have any balancing weights. Is that normal?

    • Weight amounts vary depending on the wheel/tire combo so sometimes you don't need any - sometimes you need a fair amount.

    • This setup is designed for automotive/truck tires. Motorcycle shops have specialty equipment to handle mounting/balancing.

  • I got 4 new tires and 3 of them are balanced outside with adhesive weight but one tire is balanced inside with one clip weight. Is that considered normal?

    @-Vee_@-Vee_5 ай бұрын
    • It probably has to do with how the wheels are made - adhesive weights are nice because you don't have to hammer on the outer lip of the wheel and it looks better and/or there isn't an outside lip. The inner side probably got a hammer on weight because it has a lip and they're less likely to fall off. It could have simply been the shop's preference.

    • Yah shop preference seems to be the thing. At one Americas Tire location they used adhesive, at another clip on.
