All starches are just another sugar which all trigger insulin, the fat hormone. For your metabolic health, eat fatty meat instead. Also, stay away from seed oils such as canola and anything labeled "vegetable oil". I have learned that the way to caramelize onions is to use very little oil, not drench as shown in this video. Lard is ideal.

  • Hi, I'm Japanese & just came across your video, for I like cabbages. In Japan, we have a very similar food named "OKONOMI-YAKI" (お好み焼き=choiced fry food). We have different ingredients we can add to it (meat, corn, seaweed &, etc.) but your recipe is almost the same as its base. Interesting! (some add cheese, rice cake, fried flower crumbs & different kinds of seafood)

    • I love eating meat but @@ej824dfw is right, the process of making meat takes way more resources than other foods. The studies bear that out but it also intuitively makes sense: meat comes from animals and animals need their own food which needs to be grown too. All the environmental costs associated with transporting and producing animal feed also needs to be accounted for. Then there's the actual impact of the individual animals and the impact from us eating the food. Meat is delicious but unfortunately wasteful on the scale it is produced. On the other hand, it's still not the biggest contributor to climate problems. Energy continues to be the biggest culprit there.
