  • The sneaking on magma thing is probably related to walking on hot coals, in which the easiest way to avoid your feet burning is to walk slowly and evenly. It's a real thing, and ever since I heard about it in school (Mythbusters ofc), I've always assumed that's why magma blocks work the way they do

    • Exactly thank you

      @robinsmail7132@robinsmail71322 жыл бұрын
    • In reality walking on hot coals is mostly about walking for almost half an hour on cold grass so that you don't really feel the heat for a short period of time

      @grzesiekbiskowski@grzesiekbiskowski2 жыл бұрын
    • That's not at all how it works. Walking more slowly on something hot increases heat transfer, period. Going slower or "more evenly" won't defy physics. Now if you have a lot of dead coals on top, you can fool people, and that's how it's usually done in performances and confidence boosting/hypnosis scams.

  • The reason the magma block doesn't damage you when you hold shift is because the stepOn method inside Minecraft's code that causes you to light on fire when you step on the magma block (in this case) is only called when you aren't holding shift. Holding shift makes you "undetected" for a lot of things, and the magma block glitch is a byproduct.
