Quick question, when you base model for the S23, you mean the 128 GB right? Those Geekbench scores are a little concerning. My 256 GB is much higher.
@@thesocialintrovert in antutu benchmark the S23 have better scores than the iPhone but in geekbench pretty much every new iPhone always win.

I have both of these phones and I have to say that the s23 is an excellent choice if your trying to decide between them, also the Battery on the s23 is awesome as well
And the camera too. Its excellent
Which one is going to keep up as they age, say in 3 years from now?
@kun490 I would say both because they both will get their software updates for the next 4 years. Obviously iphones have been known to hold their value a lot longer, so that might be the big upside to some.
@@robbierold2262 and iPhone has 5 years of software updates support compared to Samsung’s 3-4 years
The battery on iPhone is much better, can go 10 hours 23 minutes until death compared to s23’s 10 hours 4 minutes.
Samsung ONE UI has improved and has been polished so much that it's even better than iOS for me. I have both and I am loving my S23 plus better than the 14 pro. S23 indeed feels smoother. Gone are the days when Android feels laggy and choppy and iOS feels so much smoother. This time Android (specifically Samsung devices) can beat iOS when it comes to speed and smoothness.
i agree
I have s23 but I'm gonna buy the 12 mini cause it's adorable
Nick always on point with these speed test videos🔥🔥
Great video Nick as always. I don't think we can call it a draw though since the S23 loaded the majority of the apps faster then the iPhone.
Exactly. The Samsung won by far the majority.
Do you think that anyone cares about maximum 2 seconds difference? Most of the people will choose by their wallet and habits. I have s23 but maybe I will try the Iphone one day.
@reynon6827 If nobody cares then why did you watch the video? And why do speedtest exist? Just a reminder that the 14 Pro's starting price is $999 in the US and even more in international markets while been slower then the regular S23 which costs $799

I've had both phones and over time as a heavy gamer the S23 way outperforms the iPhone. The iPhone gets super hot and starts slowing down over time. I like the design of S23 Ultra but I love the 14PM.
This kind of video shows how benchmarks like geekbench are basically useless. Seeing the performance through the test nobody would imagine that the difference in single core is almost 50% 😅 Still, the level of optimization in Apple silicon are remarkable, at least. I'm very curious to see what type of improvements Nuvia team will bring the to Snapdragon processors since,at the moment,Apple is the only company doing their own cores design, all other companies use Arm cores. Nice video
No, this video is pointless. He's measuring a programmed transition speed through much of the video. In Developer Options, Android lets you adjust Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration Scale. Set those to 0 and run this test again.
@@thestingyham1188 animation scale would absolutely not make any big difference cause it's about loading speed
@@yazouruaim694 Of course it does. It takes cycles from the CPU/GPU to complete that animation. It's a huge difference. As I said, run the test with the settings I said and prove me wrong. You will see a marked improvement on many tests. Android users are welcome to make these changes and see the difference for themselves.
@@thestingyham1188 I does the exact thing, the animation speed is instant but the loading speed stays the same
@@thestingyham1188 It's negligible. You can put Animations on 5x slower and you'll see that the apps react to your scrolling while they animate. The content would load at the same time as if there were no animations.
The galaxy s23 and the iPhone 14 look very similar now and iOS and android also look very similar in many aspects too
I'm using Iphone 14 Pro and it's perfect size for me, so because of the size i would choose standart S23 over Plus and Ultra versions.
Samsung is an like an iPhone with the abilities of an Android I can install apks from any site without problem and still experience blazing fast performance. Plus, other stuff
that sounds safe
Okay why I'm I not subscribed yet Nice review
S23 series is no joke, thanks to snapdragon 8gen2! 🥳 🎉 🪅
Thanks Nick for the comparison. One thing I've noticed: the content shown on the iPhone is more optimized for the screen (buttons, text size, images...) as at 4:11 you can see more stories icons on the iPhone. So there is more content displayed on iOS than on Android. Is it due to app optimization?
At 4:11 it's just because of the wider screen of the iPhone
No bro,the iphone 14 pro is more wider than the s23 thats why its show you 4 stories. My poco x3 pro is also showing as same as iphone.
It's just a screen size difference
Changing dpi will give you 100 stories icons
The stories' icons are obsolete, they really don't have any stories if you click it it'll not open anything, it just shows because of the different approach of app development in iOS as against to Android
I have an iphone and I want to upgrade to a samsung s23. I am interested in whether the animations on s23 bug and whether they are fluid because my biggest priority is that the animations are fluid. Thanks for your reply in advance.

Apple had the smallest update in their chipset they have ever had the same year samsung had the biggest jump they ever had, chipwise they are on par i would say. A16 better cpu, sdg2 better gpu. Excited to see apples A17 on 3nm since the a16 is mostly an A15 from 2021. S23 is a great deal imo, only lacking in brightness and battery.
Apple did such a small changes on the a16 cause competition is still catching up, now that 8 gen2 has better gpu, apple should use that new ray tracing gpu that they were going to put in the a16 but decided to refine it for another year apparently
@@lukabosnjak3829 yes they where not happy with the powerconsumption the new gpu used in the A16 so they waited for the 3NM chipset. @@vikinnorway6725 Leaks show that a17 will be on par with M1 in multicore and basically have the strongest single core performance in the world... Samsung has a premium feel and definitely looks amazing, it's my choice for a top phone, but I have to admit apple still has the edge in the overall attention to detail, even the fact that the S23 isn't steady when laid on a table while the iPhone is
It still wobbles tho, if you put a case on that levels out with the camera bump then i won't wobble at all

Well, good video. Although I'm not a fan of these kind of tests where you are testing the speed with just your fingers, which means u never can press both of the panels at the exact same time. There are the fingers and human skill and then the a bit different touch panels on the screen, which can be a bit different although not much.
who needs to measure microseconds while checking general usage? These types of tests only show that there is no practical difference in speed.
Currently watching on my iPhone 14 pro max since yesterday I buy it 😊. The deep purple colour are looking pretty it’s worth I guess

Head to head smoothness and speed but what about that geekbench scores ? More than fifty percent if i saw correct!
Now in 2023 they are both incredible smartphones and i think if you like ios get iphone if you like android get samsung
This shows how poor Apple optimize their software. Even with such a powerful CPU (very high Geekbench score), they just perform similar to the snapdragon
I wouldn't say it's poorly optimized. Neither OS. The thing is , people fail to realize that a) iOs apps are huge compared to Android. b) The iPhone chips have huge cache sizes which means iPhones can retain more important data in the background (about 2-3 more apps) , but adds more delay when the cache misses the Data. c) although the iPhones have faster storage Nvme is way faster than Ufs 3.1 , they have to load more data from the storage due to app size. So overall due to smaller apps and the less delay between cache levels, the load time ends up significantly faster for Android devices after cold boot. And that's why real user experience differs from benchmark numbers.
Watch closely how S23 drains the battery so fast, all the way from 83% to 75%. other than that it's a great phone!
Battery has been fine so far
