In this video we take a look at Citroen C4 VTR Diesel that I bought for £850 from a member of the public. Now this car does have some issues we need to sort so join me in this video as we take a look at the car and go on a test drive.

Nice wee win over the Corsa 🤣 WBAC, any online offer should expect to be halved in person. Fingers crossed it's just the oil cooler. Any chance of seeing some of the work being done in the workshop? I find the dirty work as interesting as the buying & selling. Good promotion for Just the Ticket too

Always liked the C4 a great comfortable car. The 1.6 needed special oil if I remember from my C3 Picasso. KY reg probably started irs life as a rental
Yes 5w30 C3 (low ash) to be fair its a very common oil now as most cars are low ash but few years back your spot on barry it was special oil option and was a little expensive

My Fiesta is coming to the end of its life, won't put anymore money into it, June and the MOT is up, so will be on the hunt. Was thinking auction, but seen the high prices they are going for on one of your January vids, I know they are more expensive in January, but it put me off, also you don't get the benefit of a test drive

Yes I did not find out what she got offered, I would guess £500, so no wonder she ripped my hand off at 850
We buy any car is only useful if you need rid of a car really quickly for whatever reason. Never ever go to them as a selling option they always give you less for it.
@@techgamer1597 Years ago on KZhead I seen a video about wbac and this lady's elderly mother took a car there, I want to say it was a fiesta but cant say 100%, it was 2 or 3 years old and was on literally a few thousand miles definitely under 10,000 the car wasn't even run in yet and they gave her something silly like £4,000 for it, they ripped her right off the scumbags

The 1.6 petrol is a little underpowered but is a perfectly decent enough engine for the juke. Thanks for watching
Have exactly the same car on a 64 plate. Decent cars tbh. Great on diesel.
Yes 1.6 engine does give decent mpg and just enough performance
Nice car! I must admit.... Budget tyres and that's the only contact you have with the road. I always spend more on better brands that will bring me home.
Yes I am going to do a video on budget tyres soon, there are some decent budget tyres these days but your right some people buy a tyre at £50 when there is another brand for £59 that will last 50% longer and better grip rating. It annoys me when my customers don't see the benefit and saving.

Always a good strategy to have a car that you buy at such a low price that you will either make a little profit worse case and a lot of profit if Lady Luck is on your side Great vids

Try online auctions those on person auctions are high priced compared to online auctions like copart
Got to be worth 3k surely dpf on theses are well easy to remove on theses so should be easy fix stripping it down to find tge leak 👍👍👍
Yes will get on it next week and cover in part 2, mileage is 132k, looking online anything above £2500 around my end was sub 120k mileage or below so 2300-2400 be about right I think.
@@carukchannel must be cheaper then a peugeut 308 which is similier, just sold mine that done 118k had it up for 2500 but took 2250 and yours is a Vtr plus, mine was just the peugeot e Loving your vids you are killing it you must be doing something right are you using tags etc as my views are nothing compared to yours keep it up 👍👍👍

I've just brought citron c4 automatic diesel vtr 2010..apparently year mot.. Got it for 1000..needs a shock on back left.. Gears are all out of sync.. I'm wondering how it past mot ..
the gearbox is not Mot related, as for the shocker the standards for shockers are it must be a serious leak to fail a mot, a worn out shocker that has limited damping could still pass a mot but would be advised if noticed by compertant mot tester

Doesn't look too deadly. Past mot's throwing up suspension components etc but nothing really bad for mileage.
Yes suspect some suspension parts will need replacing but I will get it in the workshop this weekend and see what we can uncover from that leak, thanks for watching Cabottaxi 👍👍👍

Nothing in life scares me quite so much as an old Citroen with high miles, no service history and an owner very keen to sell. It's truly terrifying. Hope it works out for you Lee. I'll say a little prayer for you before bedtime, and I'll keep my fingers crossed too. Suddenly, that statuary 6 months feels like 6 years. Best of luck fella 👍
To be honest if we fix the water leak and it holds temp ok, will use that diesel up to find out 😁then I would not be to worried. The longest claim on CRA I have had was just over 4 months on a bmw 3 series we sold for 1.8k some years ago. The guy had covered 3k in the car and was trying to claim for a leaking radiator which was clearly wear and tare, I dug my shoes in on that one and told him to go politely away and take responsibility for his car, he did not agree but lucky for us the district judge did. 👊
has it froze and blown the core plug ?
May well of done, will find out next week when we strip it down, hope so to be fair mark worried its something more sinister

Because it easy. I suspect this citroen would not sell privately (other than spares or repair) and then somebody is going to want to steal it(circa £450) as Lee says it could be anything from a joint on a pipe to a cracked head, a private buyer is going to assume the worse, talk about how expensive it will be to repair and offer peanuts. The seller appeares to just want rid of it ASAP.

Buy a Toyota Aygo/ Yaris. That's my tuppence.
Hi there loads of angry, to be fair cabottaxi makes a decent shout with a aygo/c1/107 if your looking to spend 3k under but it must be the 998cc engine. If your looking for something newer then a VW up / seat Mia is another good shout. I am going to be doing some top 5 videos soon once my office at home gets decorated, 🤣
