  • Amazing friendship. .. I’m from queens NYC so I’ve never heard the term “Wendy house” pert se, but I’ve raised a daughter so knew what it was by Brendan describing it.. unshaven, unkempt, with a head of wild man hair popping his head out the tiny window brought me to tears.. what a solid guy Brendan is..

  • Wow, what a podcast! One of the best you’ve done Dodge. Brendan was as honest as they come and I loved the way he told his story of him and Dave Courtney. No doubt they were very close mates who admired and loved each other. I’ve always liked what I saw and heard from Dave Courtney and Brendan’s truthful account of him has, in my opinion, made him even more likeable. Again, big respect Dodge for your natural way of bringing out the honesty in people.

Dodge it seems that proper fellas are thin on the ground now mate. I'm one of the lucky ones that have a cupel of proper friends that would be their for me or my family if we needed it. All the best mate. Cam.

  • What grass walks into the Old Bailey and punches the bent copper in the court....... The man was proper as far as that accusation, people hate those that are staunch, especially when they ain't.... Because they haven't got the minerals to own their own faults and easier to deflect. He admitted all his failures, showed and owned pain with the love he lost... As in my opinion his heart was his greatest asset and was easy to spot when it was broken. Had the chance to go to a bbq at Camelot last year but I bottled it as I'm just a straight goer and very much like Brendan, laughs, loyalty and friendship and not hard etc. Never been a wannabe villain or something I'm not but the reason why I had the upmost respect or appreciation of Mr Courtney...... His discriprion of the postman ending up a cocaine dealer, his description of selling water at raves...putting into perspective where the Krays would be today compared to then...... Etc etc etc....... I'm 54, sounds a bit bent but thinking right now, I really miss his podcasts and social media presence tbh. Againg deepest condolences to all family and friends and Mr Courtney, I banked alot of your wisdom so God bless 🙏♥️

Most importantly you don't constantly interrupt your guests. So many podcast hosts are so full of themselves that they don't listen to guests, interrupt constantly as they wanna be the centre of attention and others that do the most low effort/low intelligence questions going. • The Dun Cow on old kent rd could tell some stories back in the day😎. So could "Sunny Side up" under the Vauxhall arches. We used to go for breakfast in Sunny side up. Great atmosphere, and the service was unbelievable. We used to bob and weave our way through the doors and find a table. Then we'd ask the bar staff or the doormen to recommend something from the menu. They couldn't have been more helpful and courteous. Within minutes, breakfast was delivered to our table with a friendly smile and a.... "enjoy yourselves fellas. And if you want anything else, don't hesitate to ask" So there we were at 7am in the morning. Bottles of ice cold water...handful of E's to share between us.. spliff on the lip...and Anne Savage on the decks! Best breakfast in London 😜🤩😊

    • @@garyguest1885 I feel privileged to be the age I am. IMO, the early 80's to the late 90's were the golden years for pubs and clubs. Everyone off their nut and looking forward to a good night out. That's what drove me to keep turning up for work even if I felt like shit. Cos if I skipped a day off work, I wouldn't have the funds at the end of the week to do it all over again. It's all done and dusted now though. And it'll never be the same again. 31% of all the uk nightclubs closed down between 2020 - 2023, and more will follow. Same with boozers. They're dropping like flies. Boarded up, sold, demolished, and flats built on the site to house anyone that washes ashore in a dinghy down in Dover. My mates were born and bred on the old kent road. They could see the change coming, and wanted to get out. They moved to Maidstone. From Maidstone they moved to Brighton, and from Brighton they moved to Perth, Western Australia. They keep telling me they miss the old kent rd and London as a whole. They asked me if its changed as much as people say it has. My answer was short and sweet. I told them they wouldn't even recognise it. Cherish your memories Gary. 🤝👍
