This episode was edited by the talented Tara Olayeye and shot by me.
Brilliant as always! Love these day in the life videos.
She's Nigerian, right?
good job as always :)
I thought you meant with a gun-
Ouuu she’s nigerian huh😍
Honestly, the amount of care not only put into the cookies, but the environment they create and the collaborations with other small businesses are UNMATCHED. Mad respect to these individuals
How much more to God and His love? I mean, He literally died in our place!(2Cor.5:19) What greater love is there than this?(John 15:13)
@@gloreeuhh- nobody cares.
Period.
i love when they feed alvin throughout this series-- it shows that all cooks, no matter what story they're telling or what they're making, just really love feeding and nurturing others
or maybe they just want him to try the cookie 🤣🤣
@@jesuschristofficial6294 Yes, they want him to try it for his reaction - because as op said, they love feeding others.
Alvin being surprised that he gets food
Gets me smiling every time.
I’m sure he was surprised by how frikkin tiny those bites were… so embarrassing to offer someone a slither of chocolate and a quarter cookie. Shame on them
It's just the way they put so much love, effort and care into every single cookie and how they make sure that each person there is treated like family and that their stories are treasured. It makes me feel like home.
And it contributes to why they really are the best damn cookies! ❤️
@@AboutToEat No kidding! And this was so well shot and edited.
2:18 I love how he's forcefully managing a huge pot of chocolate with a standard kitchen silicone scraper, right before the audio cuts out to "it's a lot of labor for sure" 😂
@Ahad We're laughing too! We're still on the "our savings" budget so we're making do with what we can. Definitely can't wait til we get a real set of mixers. Soon!!!
@Chef Dave Looking forward to it!
Yes! No noisy machinery. Just ppl. Love it!!
The joy on Alvin's face whenever people feed him is so pure!
Of all the chef i imagined for this ‘day in the life’ series, chocolate chip cookie chef definitely wasnt one of them Its a surprise for sure, but a welcome one indeed
What other kinds of chefs are you hoping to see? 🧑🍳
@@AboutToEat I would love to see some more about Mediterranean food if possible- I know the question wasn’t for me but just a thought!
@@AboutToEat The ending gave me an idea, PIZZA chefs!!!! 🍕
@@AboutToEat i would love to see some pizza chefs, more asian cooks or bagel chefs!
@@AboutToEat Black owned restaurants!!
"We really like to let our dough sit for several days" Alvin definitely felt that in his soul
I love how he specifically makes a healthy, wholesome meal for everyone, being mindful of sustaining their energy!
This is like Humans of New York, with chefs instead. I love it! Having a pandemic culinary project myself, and my mom recovering from cancer meanwhile, I just can't put in words how much this video resonated in me. Thank you so so much, Alvin!
Much love Cari. Best of luck! Drop us a link in our DM's and we'd love to support your online culinary project! Our best wishes to your Mom on her recovery.
@@chefdave7965 this is so kind
"If you love what you do it's not work" It's definitely work. It's just work that you enjoy instead of dread.
Same with studying. I love the subjects in my course and very willingly prefer to study than do other stuff , but I still lose my mind when I have to slog for exams because I hate studying for them, it's not fun anymore.
Though it doesn't feel like work. That's the thought.
They explained the saying in the next sentence though "There's definitely a lot of labor though."
They meant it doesn't feel like "work"!!
Your regular should take care of your exams. Exams are only to prove that you understand the subjects.
I love this series! I took one semester in culinary arts school, and found that I couldn't afford all the stuff necessary for the classes I needed to take. But it's fascinating watching people live out the life I would have lived, had I completed school with that major. As it is, I went to film school, and am now a filmmaker, but it's always good to see the passion people have for the craft of cuisine. And I love how genuinely surprised Alvin seems every time somebody hands him some food. "For me?" Keep up the good work. You allow me to live vicariously through the documentation of people who do for a living, what I do for my wife and myself.
I actually want to be a filmmaker one day so you're living out the life that I want to live :) I would love to support your work if you ever put out something available to the public!
I really love how he takes care of his staff. Sad to say, not a lot of boss' do this and it's nice to know that there are still good people out there. I envy the family-like environment that they created as a company. pretty amazing
Their relationship is so wholesome Super healthy work environment And I wish I could taste the cookies
Two things I love about this series: when the chef makes staff dinner for everyone and when Alvin smiles when eating some delicious 😭❤️
I know this is Chef Dreifus' business, but what a poignant example of what it means to work and live in a spirit of generosity. That he cooks for his staff? That he cares to make cookies that resonate with people on an emotional level? Amazing, but also a great role model for any who wish to be in business for themselves. There is a story in every cookie, as there should be in anything we endeavour to create.
This guy spends his whole day mixing heavy batter and dough, and ends his day by going to the gym. Wow... Those cookies look delicious...I wish I could get it
Wow that fact that he fed his staff & understands the importance of eating something healthy but good just soooooo wholesome
This is just so soothing...
Seeing the "Chocolate Chip Cookies Chef" makes me feel so happy and relieved (like a weight has just been lifted from me) bcs I make cookies and sell them online too, and I always felt like I'm not doing anything much even though I love it a lot.
You're doing great! Spreading joy in the world is awesome :)
@@chefdave7965 Thank you Chef! 🥰
This series is really relaxing to watch. The food that the places make doesn't really matter to me seeing as I love in Denmark, but hearing people speak about their passion is always do awesome
Dave takes cookie baking to michelin level...so much love from everyone at the company is put into these cookies ❤
Thanks Amelie! Rice Krispies are going to be .. wait for it... legendary!
This is such a wholesome episode. I love how much heart and dedication they're putting into their work and products. I'd definitely be interested in seeing more dessert / Pastry chefs 😍
That expression of Alvin while eating the cookie dipped in milk!!!❤️❤️
Why am I crying? Because the stories especially the ones about the cardamom cookie and 8 treasure rice crispies are beautiful.
So much love, thought, passion and art put into something so simple truly elevates it. I love the collaboration and sense of community between the different chefs/business owners too. No competition. They elevate each other.
the artistry and love behind these cookies is absolutely incredible. such a great installment !!
I have no doubt these cookies are delicious! The way the chef carefully and delicately chooses each component in each cookie to make them unique is outstanding. The best opportunities usually come in the most unlikely way. I wish you much success!
This series is so so cool. Seeing all the work, love, and attention to detail the entire team puts into their cookies is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing a day in their life!
The cookies look delicious and Alvin’s face when eating them is priceless, I can see pure joy on his face
UGH I LOVE THESE. AHHHH!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE. Thank you so much to Alvin, Dave, all the other cooks and crew!!!!! JUST LOVE EVERYTHING!!!!
Just wanna say, these "day in the life" videos makes me feel so grounded somehow. Like, the way I see how these chefs are doing what they do because they have passion for it and they do it because they want to fulfill something in their lives....makes me want to do the same thing.
This is an entirely unique operation --- a complete labor of love!
"We're making thousands of cookies a week" Cookie Monster: *I'll take your entire stock*
Thank you for the content. You guys genuinely put a smile on my face.
THIS IS SO WHOLESOME I LOVE IT this made my day watching and its absolutely amazing seeing people put so much love into what they like to do Thank you for making this video!! Incredibly well-made and edited perfectly!
The stories behind the cookies almost made me cry! That's some damn heart!
This made me emotional! The love and care for the craft and the team is beautiful
"Puerto Rico cocktail cookie" I never imagined to ever see a cookie of my home, that is a must try for sure.
Your home is huge influence for us friend. The people, the flavors, the color, the love, the passion - it's all the good things that make NYC what it is. We drew inspiration from the pirate Cofresi who invented the Pina Colada on a cold, cold February as we dreamed of a warmer place. Much love.
Me with the Kerala Cookies! I would love for @Chef Dave to try out some of the Western India flavours too, especially since we have sort of a sweet savoury cookie here
Amazing! Well edited filmed and put a deep perspective on chefs
I Loved this video, Made me motivated to continue my baking journey. This is defiantly my favorite video series. Great job Alvin!
This is so nice and inspiring! Love the part when one of the founders shared that he wants to make sure that consumers would feel "at home" upon consumption of their cookie.
my family is from kerala, so to see my culture being highlighted through a gorgeous story and dessert is heartwarming! love chefs that embrace the small corners of the world 🥹
I love this whole "day in the life of a chef" series. Keep it up!
Love the caradon cookie lore and the message about sitting down to eat. Love these people and I can't wait to try their cookies
Love these videos in this series. Keep them coming !!! Kudos to all people involved.
I'm in love with this channel. The authenticity and simplicity that Alvin brings and the environment that he is in and the people, the interactions are all so heartwarming. This is simply beautiful. Thank you KZhead algorithm
Loving this series. Not only is it very insightful but the way the videos are created, its just so calming to watch❤
This was so wholesome! Along with the cookies, talking about Rebecca’s and Dave’s food as well! 👌🏻👏🏻
This guy really is the goods. Every step is made from scratch!
you can feel the love and vibes thru the screen. like it’s not trying to be sold to us. we feel it. and i love that
1:32 Holy jaysis, this is a *lot* of Kerrygold.
The Kelp! cookie really reminds me of a traditional Shanghainese/Chinese cookie I love called the 苔条饼干 (tai tiao bing gan or seaweed strip? cookie? biscuit? haha), glad people are starting to discover this really unique but super delicious flavour!
People’s passion always always always makes me so emotional.
i love the style of this video seems so natural
Your passion is inspirational. How refreshing in a world of fast food to see how much effort and energy it takes to craft something truly handmade . Brilliant !
I love these videos. No wonder the food is so amazing when they put so much love into it.
Knowing that chef Dave has worked at The French Laundry and Per Se tells me everything I need to know about how delicious his cookies are without even trying them. And now to put in my order to try them.
everybody in the team give off a very warm vibe im so soft
This Boy spreads so much Love to his staff and everyone that eats his cookies. 🥰
Loving the content Alvin. Keep up the truly excellent work mate 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love these videos, Alvin! Keep up the great work!
These vids are amazing. Alvin allows the chef/restaurant explain their story and vision.
One of the best series on KZhead, anywhere. The way these videos are edited and filmed always brings about that sense of childlike wonder upon seeing something new. I can see the studio ghibli influence.
This was beyond amazing. The amount of work and dedication... And for cookies! More of this pls. Esp for pastry chefs
Doing this by hand is definitely a labor of love. This man not only cares about the product he makes but his staff. Truly beautiful to see. This industry can def be cut throat n heartless but there are def still good chefs out there who care
You knocked it out of the park Alvin. What a fascinating look into a food online business.🙂
I work at a bakery and I love to see the love behind the whole process! I love this!
The passion, time, effort and dedication 👏
I love this series! Keep up the great work, Alvin!
Such a kind boss, not very many are like you! Cooking food for your employees say’s a lot about about how much you appreciate them!
This is up there with Chef's Table now -- holy cow, Alvin, good stuff!
i've always thought Jacques Torres' chocolate chip cookie is the best in the world. he might have some competition now. looks like a trip to delancy street is gonna be on the agenda next nyc visit.
I love the format of these videos
This was so lovely - and it made me cry. ❤️
I love cookies and desserts 🥰 Videos like this remind of my dream of having my own patisserie. It's inspiring❤️🥰When I was young our mom often bring us chocolate chip cookies, it was such a happy memory
That's exactly the memory we hope to pay homage to with every cookie. We recognize not everyone is American, so we tried to recreate chocolate chip cookies for every culture! Thanks for sharing Ynna.
@Chef Dave That is so admirable chef! I am so honored to receive a reply from you! Your story inspire me so much so thank you! Take care and wishing that your cookie business prosper and inspire more people 💖
What an incredibly beautiful video. Cookies are, indeed, a love language. Thank you for that!
It's so refreshing to see somebody make cookies their main focus, not an afterthought for the kid's menu or off a mechanical assembly line. I love these videos, Alvin!!
This was awesome. Thank you.
i love this series so much
getting major chef's table vibes with the editing and I love it!
Some things just warm the heart and heals..just like this video! 💯 Love n cheers from New Delhi, India ❤️
Mmmmm...indeed! As grateful as this baker is to be creating for others, all of the folks who are a part of the it...from creation to consumption...are truly grateful as well.
these videos are always amazing!
I had no idea that I would be so riveted to continue watching this….. What a wonderful human place to just watch vicariously. The creativity , care, passion and such an amazing product that I now know about?! Thank you for making this video…and to this wonderful group of chefs ‘cookie team” :) …can’t wait to try.
Facts. Sometimes it doesn’t take much. Cookies can bring so much joy
“We really like to let our dough sit for several days” Alvin: *formulates 500 hour cookie video* Why did the cookie cry? Because his mother was a _wafer_ so long.
LOL
these videos are AMAZING!! ❤️
You are remarkable your love for what you do shines thru I wish you all the success
I love this series!!!
A wonderful story and equally wonderful journalism. Thank you
This kitchen staff and work environment makes me so happy ❤️
This was a super good and inspiring video!
Loads of respect
So much delicious work! Amazing 😊
Those cookies looks delicious. Thanks very much for making the video.
wow enjoyed the video ... it was so great to see all the bts ...and also their cookies look delicious
"get that away from me" was my favorite tasting moment. great video Alvin
