  • IMPORTANT: This video is a re-upload as unfortunately the original was taken down. I spent a lot of time on it and was very proud of it so I've decided to re-edit it and upload it again. Also, this video was recorded BEFORE Hamilton's move to Ferrari for 2025 was announced!

    • So, Kimi 2025 for Mercedes?

      @MaximoJoshua@MaximoJoshua2 ай бұрын
    • Lets see how he does this year. If he wins the F2 title or gets wins and podiums but something outside his control costs him the championship then I think Merc would be foolish not to put him in Lewis' seat. He appears to be a Lewis-Vettel-Max level talent but that is not a guarantee. The performance under pressure will tell. One thing Lewis, Vettel, and Max have in common aside from dominating from a young age and just the eye test is they all preformed better under pressure. It is like the pressure makes them better, unlike other highly thought of young talents like Romain Grosjean or to a much less degree Charles Laclerc and George Russel. (edited to say, I'm not saying Charles or George have folded but both have had moments when they were not big time in the big time and you cannot say that about Lewis, Max, or a prime Seb)

  • The whole F1 community has to stop hyping everyone that wins a junior championship. This has already become a problem, by forcing teams to put them too early in detriment to experienced drivers (and even OTHER young drivers) because they've become marketable. Kimi is just a kid, and you're all risking his dream by making it come too early. If this backfires, like it happened to other young prodigies, we might loose another huge talent (Stoffel Vandoorne, Pascal Wherlein, even Theo Pourchaire has already become victim of F1 content creators and followers)

    • Why does everyone always assume having high expectations is such a bad thing look all the best drivers all of time they all had to deal with a lot of hype and expectations at the young age ie. Max, Lewis and they've ended up being serial winners in the sport I say if he cannot handle the expectations which from his supreme driving so far he has brought on himself he truly wasn't destined to be great (Verstappen literally went from f3 to f1 !!!)

      @MauriceE29@MauriceE292 ай бұрын
    • @@MauriceE29 No one hyped Max as much when they moved him from F3. Many ppl were literally doubting him so no, they were not expecting big things from him. No one as expecting Lewis to beat Alonso either. Not the team and certainly not the fans. He was even getting the 2nd driver treatment with race strategy the 1st few races. It’s precisely bc Max did that good, that they’re hyping Antonelli up. No one said Max would be the next Lewis back in 2015 and no one said Lewis would be the next Schumacher in 2007. The media is already declaring him the new Max Verstappen, when he hasn’t even raced in F2 yet. Toto knows what’s so and he’s trying not to hype him at all. When drivers are held at gun point and told to not let them down, it’s gonna get them and we are human… some of us can take it and some will crumble from it.

  • I'll be shocked if he beats Bearman. Ollie is a beast and constantly making REALLY sound strategic decisions on the track. Look at how few times he's not finished a race, and as much as winning is important in F1, consistency and sound judgement is also important. Mercedes did not have the 2nd or even 3rd best car last season, but they still got 2nd in constructors through sheer driver consistency. If Kimi can bring that level of consistency that'll be great for him, but Bearman is very consistent, especially when you compare him with other "favorite" drivers like Hadjar who end up in a gravel pit or wall for 1/4 of the races.

  • I want to add that many people are making claims about Kimi potentially winning F2 in his first season. Let's put it in perspective. In the history of Formula 2, no one has ever won the title being younger than 20. The youngest ever F2 champion is Charles Leclerc, from 2017. He was 19y 6m at the first race and 20y 1m at the last race. All those drivers who won F2 in their first season were at least 19 1/2 when the season started. George Russell was 20y 2m, Oscar Piastri was 19y 11m. Kimi Antonelli will be 17 1/2 when he starts F2 next week and will be MORE THAN A WHOLE YEAR younger than the next youngest driver. The only caveat is that there is a new car that is supposed to assist smaller drivers. This may help him but in terms of winning the title in his first year, it's a very unlikely. Surely, Victor Martins and Zane Maloney should be favourites for the 2024 F2 title. They are much older and more experienced. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Andrea Kimi Antonelli fan, but people need to put things in perspective. Look at how unrealistic expectations have impacted Theo Pourchaire. It took him 3 years to win the championship but he is the 2nd youngest F2 champion of all time. He is also the 2nd youngest F2 runner up of all time. But people only look at the 'took 3 years to win the championship' part...

    • Max won a F1 race at 17 years of age. Proving age is just a number mate, not really sure if the age of Kimi will have anything to do with winning or losing man.

    • Talking about age. Max double or triple the points of his teammates when he was 17. Let’s see if KiMi is in the same caliber.

  • “ I think I’m having a premonition here.” In the not-so-distant future, we will either lose some quality drivers that “deserve” a seat in F-1 or have some genuine talent basically wasted, especially if they win the F-2 championship or lingering away in F-2 waiting for a seat in F-1. That also trickles down through the junior categories. And we all know exactly what would remedy it… more teams allowed into F-1. 2 teams would be four seats for the young talent to be teammates with and, therefore, learn from experienced veterans, maybe in the twilight of their career but still fast enough to be competitive and drivers the fanbase will miss the most. Instead, it looks like pure greed rules with the current F-1 teams saying “hell no” to any new entry even after they meet all their requirements for a new entry and bring a partner as huge as General Motors with them. Of course, I’m speaking of Andretti. It once was a series where if you met certain safety standards and could go fast enough, you could try and make the grid. Now, I’m not suggesting that necessarily, but this stranglehold the teams have on new entries is ridiculous and needs to be addressed.

  • Given F1 is the top of the pyramid and retirement is now 38 years old it makes sense you dont join F1 until 25 years old until you have raced and won in all tears of the sport. F1 careers can peak too early and do not focus on racing but promotion of brands and products.as a business. Formula e or LMS is still a racing based business.

  • F1 fans are funny. It's as if it's all a bit of a fantasy world, where nothing really changes, and everyone just kind of, hinges on what makes them feel comfortable... If it isn't things like how car upgrades factor a drivers performance, or McLarens fun habit of ending a season on a high only to become backmarkers at race 1 of next season.. Or maybe it's the fun topic of 'you're only ever as good as your last race' or the ever so popular notion that drivers should be sacked on the spot one day, and hailed as the best driver on the grid the next... But ofcourse, none of this comes close to the beloved 'rookie' conversation. Where 'Young talent' is another term for 'deserves a spot because they're the 12 and so must be perfection', and hype is so extremely high that after barely 5 races in, every youtube channel, racebook page and fake news article known to exist suddenly starts calling for their immediate sack. Naturally, i can't wait for this video to age just as bad as allllllllllllll the rest of them.
