To be fair the Stars vs Canucks game was very close Teddy Blueger made a bone headed Penalty that cause the Canucks the game. Edmonton however are pretenders and this game and their game against the Leafs are proof of that.

If you lived in Dallas you might realize that Dallas is deep in talent, have a decent Coach, and when Ottenger steps up his game, the Stars are pretty much unstoppable and they get very little recognition by the Media and NHL teams. And we like it that way because we like watching our opponents being stunned and confused when we smoke there asses.

Stars have so much depth to the line up… 3 lines with multiple guys that have 20 + goals this season.
The Central division is so deep it's not even funny. Dallas, Colorado, Winnipeg, and Nashville all could go deep. Not to mention St. Louis which is just outside the playoff line is a pretty good team.
Well 2 of those teams are good, the others .... not so much.

You’d think a 5-0 loss would look abysmal. It wasn’t. Edmonton played a decent game. Dallas is just THAT good right now.
Yeah, I was going to say that too. Edmonton had a lot of chances, 3 posts, some great pressure. But man... Dallas was merciless. The forechecking was great, the goaltending was great, the presence in front of the net was great, the grinding and fighting for possession was great. You really can't ask for a more complete game.

easy to say after a 5:0 but honestly the statement is not correct. edmoton had plenty of chances, some different plays, not hitting posts, pickard getting 2-3 saves more and its a different result. i dont say dallas didnt earn and deserve the win and they of course played strong, but "unbeatable" is to much.

Довольно значимой является неспособность атаки во главе с Макди преодолеть (а может проломить) надёжную игру вратаря соперников. Так было и против Рейнджеров, так было и против Тампы с Флоридой, так было сегодня и много когда ещё. Без внятной игры защитников, понимающих когда можно пасоваться в своей зоне, а когда просто выбросить шайбу, без топового вратаря, на чашу претендовать не следует. В этом сезоне так точно. Нефтяники откровенно разочаровывают, увы!!!

Dallas out worked Edmonton and finished well. The Oil had a tough go, ya some costly mistakes but 3 posts and multiple great scoring chances but nothing was going in. Yep Ottinger played great too but the moment changed when Edmonton couldn't convert early, then Dallas just shut them down. As an Oilers fan I would have to say the Oilers got schooled on execution and their hockey gods were having a nap lol. Thats hockey.
So how do you explain all those 2nd period giveaways? Perry having an option to pass it and was like meh, I’ll just shoot? Or the fact that without out McDavid or Drai (ya he was terrible tonight but so was the entire Oiler D) the oilers would not be in a playoff position? @@ivodozi Out of the last 36 NHL seasons the Cup has been awarded only 8 times to the best seasonal record (a terrible win record of 22%), which tells you that it's the team that can dig deep in the intensity of the Playoffs that wins it. Just last season Bruins had 135 points, the most ever, and lost in the first round to a team 42 points below them. Dallas looked good and had good execution, but I didn't see the fire of a win-it-all team.

Oiler fans on the other hand, believe that this team is the absolute best in all of hockey. In reality, no goaltending and very questionable defense means this team is a first round exit waiting to happen.

Dallas out played and out worked the oilers. Played an excellent defensive game. Very aggressive forecheck and backcheck. They deserved this win hands down. It's a good wake up call for the oilers. I know the schedule is hell for them down the stretch but it'll get them ready for the playoffs.
