Skinner looked good.
Ya, if it wasn't for that horrible giveaway, he could have had a shutout.
@@my3dviewsHis second career shutout was against LA with 43 saves
After the first 15 games this season McDavid had 14 points. He has been at or above 2.00 points per game ever since. That's approaching Gretzky/Lemieux numbers
Can't wait till he hits 100 Assists.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867was just gonna say that, he’s a lock now for 100+ assists! After such a slow start he has been just amazing!! 😮
@MrManfly On Pace for 112 Assists. About 3 years ago I knew McDavid would be the 4th player to hit 100+.
I placed a bet about that time for McDavid to get the most points (again). I believe it was Hughes leading then closely followed by Kucherov. Connor was way back. I really thought 120 would be enough at the end, but McKinnon and Kucherov are also having an amazing season. Will be close, but it feels like McDavid can score at will whenever he feels like. I believe he can still have a couple 4 or 5 point nights to win it if it's needed.
Season is almost over. Team and him are going to have to score like crazy for him to possibly end up with most points. However, that won't get him the MVP.
71) Daniel Sedin 648 Assists 72) Bobby Orr 645 73) McDavid 642
And McDavid has 972 points with at least 10 years left in the NHL. Also this is his 9th season and almost at 1000 points. If he can keep up his pace, he will be the second player in NHL history to get over 2000 points.

@realist7934 His PPG Average in the 2nd half of his career will significantly decline.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Bergerons didnt and he was how old and still putting up points per year. McDavid will just have to start playing smarter and have younger wingers around him then.
McDavid's first four seasons he had 1.34 points per game, his last 5 has been 1.71. He just hit his prime last season. Could see him topping at 1.6 points per game(career) at around 30-32 years old and settling down to about 1.4-1.5(career) after he retires. Respectable numbers.

Oilers seem to be able to handle any style, rough-play, speed, high-scoring forwards, a solid defensive block. Who's their coach, cause he's got them playing on all cylinders, balanced in all areas.
8:05 Nice of Ekholm to mess up the shutout with a lazy boneheaded play.
Bouchard is awesome.
Solid Oilers till they got the 3 nothing : but then they stopped playing hockey and only the kings had shots on goal. From 19 shots both teams had at this point moment, the statistics change to 33 shots to 20 for LA at the end. I still stand by my words that kings will be lucky to make the playoffs. St louis and Nashville looking good.
Kings are five points up (basically six since they have the tie breaker) and a game in hand, and the Blues only have nine games left. It isn't easy to make up six points in that short of a time frame. And look at the Kings schedule. Eight of their remaining ten games are against non playoff teams, (including Kraken, Flames, Ducks, and Sharks who have 6 wins in their last 40 games combined!) and the two playoff teams they are playing are on 2 and 5 game losing streaks. St. Louis catching them has about the same odds as Columbus winning the Cup next year. They might, but it might snow next week in Mexico too.
@@stupidas9466 All it takes is a streak in the wrong direction and some Blues wins. Flames and Kraken wont be easy wins.

Hymen played awesome! Remember him...he WAS a Leaf. Dufus got rid of him. GREAT game Oilers!! That's 2 Canadian team wins. I know it's early but Bettman might have to step in. I mean, look at what he's done for the Coyotes. Moving "down-the-road" should fix everything down there....yup....?!? Oh well...some other new big wig has a tax right-off. Nice to share the wealth. Also consider, you'll only need an arena for 15-20,000 fans. BIG savings there! But, the NHL doesn't need a franchise in Quebec, Hamilton, or anywhere north of the 45th where it will be a sell-out.

That was elkholm, flubbed the back hand
@@kevincarsales It was both. Ekholm with the giveaway and Bouchard not stopping the pass.
@@lAmCanad1anBouchard broke up LA's break out at centre (had defensive support from his forwards), got back quickly and provided an outlet on the boards for a pass from his d partner, who flubbed it. Plays like this happen dozens of times every game and flubs like that happen once every twenty games. It was simply an unlucky break on Ekholm's part, and Bouchard had zero responsibility on that goal. Learn the game.
@@kevincarsalesWhat was Bouchard doing past the blue line. He is a defenceman, should have been in front of the, in case something like that happens. On the other hand, he's go to be the team's leader in assists, for and against.

Can Mcdavid reach 1000 points before the end of the season?
No but close
Would need 28 points in 11 games, I mean it COULD be done, but the odds are stacked against him getting like 2.65 points per game for 11 games. Would love to see it though, only 2-3 players have ever gotten 1000 points before turning 28(which he will do if at start of next season.

You think Crosby is 2?
Uh... Jagr? Orr? Howe?
Um what? Jagr, Lemieux, Orr, Messier???
@@huntermanfortnite9934 Sure. He was the face of the NHL for many years, was also the best player for most of those years. He won three cups, earned a lot of fame and wealth, and today is still playing at a high level. He has had an amazing career!
@@rickpapineau5939 Orr's career was cut short, so he actually didn't have the best career. Jarg's accomplishments are behind Messier's, and Howe played in an era where the league had fewer teams, so it's hard to compare, but I'd put all the old guys before 1980 lower on the list.

The queens are supposed to be contenders? LMAO
@Peter. I hope I'm wrong of course, but this Kings fan doesn't believe they're a contender either... Congrats. 😊
Nobody has been saying the Kings are contenders, not sure what news you've been watching. They're a relatively young team coming out of sizeable retool/rebuild and making good forward steps as expected. Or maybe other teams should follow the EDM model of repeatedly coming in last place year after year, missing badly on every single first overall pick they got until they hit the one draft it was impossible to miss 😂McDavid is fantastic and all, but he's also 8 years deep into his career, closer to 30 than 25 now, and has been 100% unable to even make a Finals appearance, let alone win anything. If you can have players putting up point totals like the Oilers top line does and still get rolled over every single year, it's either your leaders have massive mental hang ups under pressure or the other 15 guys on the ice are significantly worse than their competition. Either one you want to go with, it's hilarious from the outside looking in

Good thing it's only goals on the board that matter! Sounds a lot like copium here. What happened the last two years in the playoffs if I may ask?
@@jacobharty7076 Been the case for years, I'm not wrong. The powerplays eventually dry up in the playoffs and the OIlers quietly fade away. McDavid is closer to 30 than 25 now, 8 years deep and counting with zero Finals appearances and only one WCF appearance. You'd think after 8 consecutive years of somehow failing despite icing the two most talented active players in the league, they would rethink their strategy, but no.
@@blizzardboy3932 The Kings are not contenders, they are a young team still taking forward strides. They were not expected by most to even make the playoffs at all the last 2 years, but did anyway. The Oilers are contenders (according to media I guess) and were heavily favored each year, so it's kind of weird that you even need to brag about winning those series. Unless you meant what happened the last 2 years in the playoffs, when the Oilers played other actual contenders. I don't think you need me to answer that one 97 dynasty: 8 years deep, 1 WCF appearance (loss), 0 SCF appearances. The points totals are cute AF though
