  • What makes it crazy is only 2% of wilt chamberlains playing is on film. So imagine what his highlights would be if all his games were caught on film

    • @@paulmaccartney9830 only 2% is available for mainstream viewers cuz the nba for some reason wants it to be very difficult for people to get footage of the old days so you have to search far n wide for archives and even have to pay some people to get more footage that was taken. Back then of course media cameras wasn’t what it was in later years either so alot of footage was easily lost and damaged too

  • I was in attendance at Convention Hall in Philly and Wilt's 76ers were playing the S.F. Warriors. There was a play where big Nate Thurmond went up for a layup and Wilt blocked the shot and the ball went to Tom Meschery at the foul line. Meschery shot a jump shot from there and Wilt blocked that too. The ball went to a 76er who started out on a fast break. Coming down from the right side was Wilt who got the ball and did a windmill slam dunk. The crowd went nuts!

Although Chamberlain was great in the 1960's, his highlights would not even register in 2023. It was a different era. You can clearly see by the footage that he couldn’t dribble, couldn’t shoot jumpers, couldn’t shoot free throws (career 50%), had very limited and rudimentary offensive moves. The tallest NBA center in 1960 was Swede Halbrook who was 7’3” which was 2 inches taller than Wilt Chamberlain. Swede Halbrook averaged only 5 points per game.
