  • I love the Fattie cartoon planes. Probably one of the most fun to fly. They crack me up too. Especially my Fattie F-14 Tomcat. It looks like it shouldn't be able to fly. 😂 You did great with this one. It would be cool in a 64m. Next, Peppa the flying pig. 😂

  • Love the Fatty! Love your work! New Sub!! Some I need LW-PLA Foaming filiment, not Pre-Foamed? Purchased the file now I need to get the filament. I have a Bamboo Labs printer.

    • You have the best printer! Go to 3d lab print and get some active foaming LW pla. Have you joined my FB group Kyle’s designs yet?

      @hotlapkyle@hotlapkyleАй бұрын
  • I have an old mode 2 transmitter and the spring broke on the right so I put foam to "brake" the lever inside and it's very practical for launching at a desired angle

  • When I was in the hobby I would do a bare weight glide test on scratch builds to guestimate the CG. It worked pretty well for me. Granted, those were mainly light wing loading foamies that like to glide so I was able to toss them alone without risking much damage. If you were to try that method on your jet airframes, you would definitely need someone to play catch.

Can you please help with some info would like to fly it the way you are in the video on low passes brilliant looking plane buddy

    @dbtest117@dbtest117Ай бұрын
    • Print settings are individualized to every printer. If you have a Bambu printer I can help with that. If you have a Creality my settings won’t work for you.

    • @@hotlapkyle Yeah, I'm just assuming the lw-pla will have some general differences to normal pla. I will need to test things out for sure, I'm just assuming a foaming material will have some general differences from normal pla. But you are right and I'm not expecting the exact result.

  • Have you considered instead of hand launching using a launch ramp with a bungee cord? There's a guy that flies at the local RC field in Alvin that put a plywood pistol grip midway on/under a (I'm guessing here as I haven't asked just observed) 1/3 segment of pvc about 2 foot long. He cocks the launcher, sets the plane in and fires it up at an angle and he gets perfect launches every time

    • I have definitely thought about it. My philosophy is to make planes that all people can fly without any special equipment. I won’t make any designs that take too long to print/build or need landing gear

  • I have the electronics leftover from a 70mm EDF and i think i might attempt to scale this up. any advice?

    @Birdsqueezer@BirdsqueezerАй бұрын
    • Should scale with no issue. My advice is to scale it up and only print that edf holder section of the fuselage to make sure it fits the fan. Then print the rest

    • So the wonderful thing about my designs is you can absolutely print on any bed size! If you learn how to slice parts. Just print the two halves and CA glue them together. All my jets/ planes use slicer generated infill so you can slice any part to fit your bed and do it
