I was a young Kid during his governorship. My family is staunchly liberal and my parents never voted for him. We still idolized him in our home. He represented that we can disagree on political matters without loosing sight of each others best qualities. After he left office he only continued to advocate for important issues and lead the way in building a better world. Arnold will always be an role model for me, the model of what a man should be. Strong, intelligent, and filled with love.
Maybe more staunch liberals will look at the whole picture & vote for what our country really needs.
Taking responsibility for fathering his maids son is commendable.

A beautiful quote from a good man.
It's a philosophical argument - the idea that children are born innocent and the world corrupts them. I don't believe that. I believe that children don't naturally know the difference between right and wrong. They need to be taught a sense of right and wrong, keeping in mind that those that are teaching them may have very different ideas of right and wrong than what you or I might hold.

So often, really deplorable acts are committed like drone killings when people don’t take full account for their actions. I understand that Elon Musk wants us to be a multi-planetary species, however, I have never really evaluated his specific reasons why. I fully agree that we sincerely need to first focus our efforts on our necessary commitments to the care of our own planet and our species as it exists here. We know what happened to Tulsi Gabbard whom I would suggest is much the same way. I was in CA when Arnold was governor. We wondered how he would be but I think he was good. That state has a history of impeaching governors.

Arnold has seen what few people get to see in person. As a young boy, I entered a movie theater in post WW2 Scotland. The newsreel featured the liberation of a concentration camp. I was not prepared for such horrors, and it has haunted me for life. Much later my refusal to attend a dinner, led to a virtual collapse of my family, over a neo-Nazi, in the bride's close family. I remember the bomb shelters and the craters well. I remember that newsreel also. I do not regret my decision or my exile because free will gives me the absolute right to "abstain" and absent myself from their presence, and they from mine.. Bravo Arnold for saying what needs to Never Be Forgotten.

Well spoken overview by Arnold Schwarzenegger regarding the depth of hateful positioning in the USA. His comment that no one is properly covering this phenomena is not fully presented. The major media outlets are not covering this hate well or in depth. Independent news such as Truthdig and Democracy Now! are two examples of long established, well informed news agencies covering the spectrum of hate.

I saw an awesome commercial last night. Has anyone else seen this yet? It was a father and a son, sitting in a car outside of a synagogue. It showed all of these lovely families walking out after service, smiling and laughing. The father looks over to his son, and pretty much states "Do you have something you would like to say... to their faces?" I mean, I thought it was brilliant! It is precisely the kind of thing I would have come up with, if I ever found that my kid was spewing hate, behind the safety of his screen.

I'm 80 and was raised in a family that never, ever said anything bad about any race or religion! We just didn't do that! It was live and get along and work together! I am not capable of understanding hate! That word was never used in our family! Also, we were not religious at all. It was a secular existence and being secular does NOT embrace hatred.
