I think the 11th was closer to a 10 - 8 round for Loma than the 10th. But either way the 10th was clearly Loma's as well. Haney did a lot of good work in the closer rounds though - the fight should have been a draw, with Haney retaining his titles.

This was a certified instant classic. It’s just too bad people let their emotions to a close fight overshadow just how amazing the fight actually was. That being said, after watching the fight back I believe Devin won fair and square. Once you analyze the fight and score it round by round, ignore the crowd noise, credit the body work, and the fact that most of the flurries Loma threw were blocked… Dev got it. However it was still a close fight. Credit to both men for putting on sharp performances

I analyzed the fight and Devin did not win neither did Loma though. Devin did well rounds 1-7 pulling about 4-5 of those rounds but completely let the second half of the fight slip through his fingers. Haney employed the Ugas vs Pac strategy and folks weren't nuanced enough to see its effectiveness. Loma was befuddled because he knew everytime he would try his spin offense he was gonna get a body shot to the exposed portion of his torso. That is why he was less offensive and the ring generalship was in Haney's favor. They were fighting the fight Haney wanted not Loma. That's how I seen it live and rewatching it again.
Haney’s body shots definitely landed but didn’t seem to have a significant effect on Loma’s game plan. As in the 11th round, Loma had Haney in deep waters and wobbly legs which seemed to be the only point in the fight where either fighter was noticeably hurt. Instant classic nonetheless 🔥

11th round is where Lomachenko's age most factored. He hurt Devin during the first 1/3 of the round, then lacked the youth stamina to keep putting it on the rest of the 2/3 of that round. I think 3 years ago, Lomachenko would have stopped Haney in that 11th round. I don't see any controversy - Haney won a close fight; and I think he will be a better fighter because of the experience he gained in this fight against such an experienced opponent. I think the timing of this fight for Haney was spot-on with Lomachenko at 35. And you have got to give respect and accolades to a 35-year-old Lomachenko in this fight too. He's fighting one weight class too heavy for him, stubbornly, because he wants to be undisputed there, and took multiple heavy body shots from a younger, bigger fighter. But Lomachenko has ran out of youth.

Also at the time Mayweather fought Canelo, Mayweather was a true bonafide welterweight. Rewatching I’m like damn I think Haney took it. If you analyze his body shots they were pretty clean shots just not exciting to the eyes especially if they’re not in angle of the camera. On top of that the crowd, announcers, and even myself at times were crating a bias for loma.

I honestly don’t care anymore about who won. It was cool to see Loma at his age doing work. Between the injuries especially the shoulder one that he had surgery on. Then going to his home country to help in any way he can. I respect that. This fight showed everyone that Haney can’t fight effectively off his back foot. He doesn’t let his hands go enough, but that’s me. I think Shakur schools him, and Tank puts him out. Maybe he’ll be down to fight Shakur but I doubt he wants him and more so Tank. Haney is still young, so I think he’ll still improve over the next few years.

I told a lot of people they got swayed by the noise of the audience and the commentary cuz Haney won this close decision fight. But people kept saying it was a robbery when it wasn’t. Give Haney his props he beat loma. He neutralized loma he didn’t even look like his usual self no matrix no nothing. This is such a great fight to comeback too Loma proved that he is still as nimble and sharp as ever at 36 and solidifying is HOF status. Haneys ring generalship, adaptability, and variating shots from the first round of the fight is incredible to watch. I have already watched this fight 4 times very carefully, and made a new score card each time, to critique my own scoring, and every time, I had Loma winning 8 rds to 4.......just like Oscar did. Lastly, boxing of this caliber is a hell of a lot harder than it looks. Loma did everything he needed to do to win this fight in convincing fashion. He even had Haney in serious trouble in the 10th and 11th rds. Everyone says either Haney or Loma won, but NOBODY is saying this fight should've been a draw and in my opinion this fight from start to finish is the definition of a DRAW. This was not a robbery. I watched this fight with no volume. The crowd got hyped every time Loma did something but they ignored all haney body shots. Haney won the first 6 rounds and 12. That’s 7-5 Haney. And it was also a couple swing rounds in those mid rounds. I heard the commentators calling Loma shots and ignoring Haney counter shots before. No volume round by round haney won clean in a great fight. Not to even mention he is the champion and you have to take the belt from the champion. Loma didn’t do enough. If he woulda won the 12th then I could see a draw or Loma for the win but he gave that to Haney after having a good round in 11. Loma has to blame himself. He needed that 12th round

When I watched this fight live, I honestly thought Loma won. Maybe it was the commentary from ESPN and those snapping jabs, but after watching it again, despite these commentators hyping up Loma every round except the 12th and remaining silent on most of Haneys best moments, I do believe Haney won and it wasn’t as close as I thought. Haney had elite bodywork all night and then some slick counters to some of Loma’s bests moments. I gave Haney rounds 1 (close because neither fighter was super decisive), 2, 4,5,6,7,8 and 12. And Yes, Loma absolutely dominated 9,10,11. Great fight from both fighters.

That "elite bodywork" didn't have much effect and actually Loma countered them almost every time. When Loma hit Haney his head snapped and his legs wobbled couple of times. Then he had to tie to survive and it alsobecame a bit dirty from him. Loma was definitely robbed but I've seen much worse

The more i watch the more competitive i realise this fight was and the more rounds i give Devin Devin Haney beat loma 7 rounds to 3 if we being honest,i had to slow this fight down and really watch it, with no volume and at a much slower pace

@@jose.jojo.pino.jr. I think it's a two part problem. 1. Once his opponent adjust to his increased pressure, it's not as effective and they're back to fighting on neutral ground. 2. His age might make it tougher to keep up that activity level. Sure, he may have a skill advantage against most of these younger fighters due to his age and experience, but his stamina may not be suited for holding up that kind of footwork and activity level that long especially if his opponent has landed effective body shots throughout the fight like Teofimo and Haney, to a lesser extent, did.

It just sounds like people don’t like Haney, just because…but pertaining to the fighting, haney was more consistent with his pressure and throwing that right hand to the body, even after loma would land his left hand , and throw those flurry of punches at times…i feel like loma had moments but wasn’t as consistent as haney was throughout the fight…definitely a close one but they got the right decision, no robbery…close fight, props to both fighters
