  • I like Tyson's answer to "Who was the greatest". Instead of saying Ali automatically like most dopes would, he gives respect to ALL the great fighters by saying "Everybody was the greatest in their time". We have no idea what Marciano would do vs. Ali, or for that matter, what a prime Tyson would do vs. Ali. Or a prime Tyson vs. Marciano. We only know those fighters were the best in THEIR time. Anything beyond that is pure SPECULATION. Tyson is smart enough to know this. Another reason to love Iron Mike!

      @vena180@vena1805 жыл бұрын
    • @@vena180 I know what he said. Ali would kick his ass. Marciano doesn't hit harder than Frazier, Foreman, shavers, and Ali was never knocked out by them. Hell when he fought Holmes with Parkinson's he still didn't get knocked out. The only way Marciano would win is by knock out. He is too damn small to get in close. The fight would be stopped the same way Manila was stopped, Ali would've ruined his face.

    • I agree. I always liked Larry Holmes and felt bad that he never received the credit he deserved for being a very good champion for so long. He was always generous with his fans. I met him once and he thanked me again and again for my complements to him, and he joked a little about his fight with Ali costing him a ton of fans, even though it wasn't his fault. He's a very nice guy. Glad that he didn't seem to suffer much long term injuries from his boxing career. Tyson has grown on me over the years. I didn't like him from his arrest though his early comeback, when he bit Holyfield and all that nonsense, but I can forgive all that. There is a certain honest and genuine quality I've come to like about him, even when he's vulnerable. His show about the pigeons was interesting. I wish he'd of been able to get his shit together and be the best during the last 90s, even if it were just for a year or two.

Just having 37 fights in 5 years is incredible even if some of the fights seemed easy the training certainly wouldn't have been and having that many fights at only 23 shows he was an immense athlete. If he couldn't beat any of the greats at his best they would have certainly been great battles.

I was never a big Larry Holmes fan mainly because I loved Muhammad Ali, but Larry had a great career. No one was beating the Mike Tyson of the mid to late 80's. I wish Mike had stayed with Kevin Rooney. I still say that the Mike Tyson in the 80's trained by Rooney would have beaten Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield. As for Buster Douglas, he could have just stayed in hotel room. It would have been over that fast.
