  • I must say, That "Sound Check 2" audio test CD has me dropping my jaw floorward when the "20Hz Sine Wave" was audibly audible on these Austrian Audio Hi-X15 Headphones are wider than any 'others'., though not as intense as some on here have pointed at. There is a tad bit upper vocal overage in this area.

  • A beautiful review as always, Mike! Would love to get a hold of the X60s and 65s!

  • These days I use the new RODE NTH-100. Love them. Great built and very neutral sound. Very comfortable - unless you have oversized ears. And a fine Australian product too!

    • I just put my Rodes in for Return. Bit worrisome curves on them. I enjoyed them but I also saw horror stories of them breaking after only 2 months of desk use.

  • Nice comparison, thanks! Have you ever had a chance to try the ATH-R70X from Audio Technica? If so, how would you rate the confort vs the X60 or X65? Cheers! (I need a new pair of headphones.)

  • Nice review Mike, have the X15's and the X65's neither makes me want to try alternatives like the usual suspects like the DT's or Sony's . They may not be the absolute cheapest but the slightly extra you pay is well worth the money🙂

  • You sold me. I have 2 weeks to return my DT 1990 pros ($499) and the $70 dekoni elite fenestrated sheepskin earpads I bought to use them with. I had the x55's at one point but they were not ideal for gaming which is what I am primarily going to be using these for. Thanks for the video! (the x55s were super comfy!)

    • @@notblazedfordays9536 I had the 900 pro x they sounded muffled compared to my m40x . The clamp force was too tight for my big head too. What you think about the x60 vs x65?

  • Hey Mike , another great video . I'm thinking of getting new headphones because mine bleed a bit into my track . First I've heard of Austrian Audio but they seem's like quality gear . Your video quality is the best I've seen on KZhead. That's saying something . What kind of camera do you use? I recently bought the Zoom 4K camera and sent it back . The picture was horrible. Sound quality was good but that's not what I was looking for. I thought I was purchasing a 4K CAMERA. It was nowhere's near 4K.

  • Mike! You can help me on this one: consider this - knowing that music is just a hobby for me (I make no money out of it), and that I'm aware that nothing wil ever sound as good as a studio dedicated pair of headsets, is there any pair of "mid term" headsets you can recomend that can be considered decent for gaming and audio mixing at the same time? I've been seeing reviews on the HyperX Cloud Flight, that has a wireless mode for working/gaming + a wired mode to use along with my focusrite Scarlet 2i2. Do you have any other advise on that matter?

  • Mike, my problem is I can sing better tracking with open-backed headphones and much better hearing myself through a speaker! Can I make it work recording my vocals with at least open-backed headphones and reverse the phasing on another track?

  • Do you know of any headphones that can help compensate for people with high frequency hearing loss? I have a pair of Sennheiser headphones (I don’t have the model number handy) that have a treble boost but they are wireless and have a slight latency that makes recording difficult.

  • Wondering has Suzi's preference changed for tracking vs the 65 or has that bridge not been crossed - yet? Sometimes the less you know the better.

  • Informative video, but nevertheless I am a bit disappointed, I have to say. Since you compared the X15s with a bunch of other headphones you have "laying around", I was expecting you to tell the audience what you are thinking especially when you compared the sound with other headphones of that about that price, like the DT770, DT880, DT990, ALG361, AKG371, Audiotechnica M50x, Sony 7510 or the like, but you didn't. Maybe you could sitll do so in another video!?
