"She's Been Grilled And Roasted!" Donald Macleod BLASTS Nicola Sturgeon's Covid Policy
Scotland's former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon gave evidence to the UK Covid Inquiry in Edinburgh on Wednesday.
She says none of the decisions she made during the pandemic were based on political considerations or trying to advance the cause of independence.
Sturgeon says: "I was motivated solely by trying to do the best we could to keep people as safe as possible."
The former SNP leader denied that the government's strategy was based on her instincts and that decisions were made by her and a small band of trusted advisers.
Earlier, she fought back tears as she said part of her wished she had not been first minister when the pandemic struck, adding that she did not use informal communications like WhatsApp to reach decisions or to have substantial discussions after admitting to deleting her messages.

You don't know how right you are. When Labour set up Holyrood they built an electoral system to keep Tories out (not considering that the SNP would work out how to game it) and put in no checks and balances. There's no second house to ratify/veto legislation and the police and judiciary aren't separate and report directly to the FM. Holyrood is a despot's wet dream.

As much as I'd like to see justice for what was done in the name of COVID, you would have to make new laws and retrospectively charge them. Anyone worried about missing WA texts needs to get a grip - if they don't exist, you can't judge what's in them or why they were deleted. If a specific policy advises they be deleted as a security measure, then that's all the excuse anyone would need. It's way more likely that 'incriminating' exchanges took place in person and in private. Personally, I think any Social Media or private device text exchanges should be banned. Governments never had this facility in the past, but did use memos which again could be lost or destroyed. If decision-making is now supported by informal electronic chatting, then it should be permanently archived. In the here-and-now, all ministerial/cabinet communications should be on or through an isolated government server, with no delete or auto-delete options.

I havent owned a television for nearly 20 years now. During covid I broke the rules to visit my terminally ill mother across town almost daily. She owned a TV and after a few weeks i coukd not believe Sturgeon basically on every night giving a statement. Just a game of political one upmanship all the while playing with people lives. Made a dogs dinner of it all. She and her party have made Scotland a far worse and more dangerous place to live

It is not unusual. The governments Defence and Science Technology Organisation (DSTL) were directed to delete their messages at the end of each month in case they received an FoI request.
