Congratulations Sister. I am downtown next the Arch also paying $1308 rent. Lease is up in December and I have already started giving away and packing what I want. I am 76 yrs old and bday in January. I'm getting a class C and kissing my hometown goodbye again!! 😂🎉🎉

i am 63 and in 3 days i be out of my apt and then looking for used 75k van max! Tired rent, tired looking concrete, tired driving to go for walk etc etc. i just dont think i want a shower in my van. can to planet fitness! 2 weeks should be on road. also i be staying in warm climates!!

I watch a ton of these videos daily. I'm so happy to come across a Solo black female van lifer and a video less than 6 months old. I'll be joining van life in a couple months, I'm just waiting for things to fall in place. I'll actually be in St. Louis for the whole month of June before I start my journey in July. My van is actually in Georgia so I'll head there in July and do my build out there. I'm so excited and scared. After my van is finished, I want to explore Florida natural springs and beaches 😊

All our kids are officially grown and moved out. I got upset with my self when I realized me and my husband are still paying 3k rent. I added that up and we are paying 36k in a year. I convinced my husband that we gone. Get an RV and pay our self. The sacrifice gone be worth the save. ❤

I have been watching you since you first started and you have changed so much! I remember your first camping trip to WV to where you hated riding in the mountains and now you’ve been to California, and they really have some huge mountains! You’ve done so much and overcame your fears and now going from teaching to living in a van is a huge leap but in true Queen Sit fashion, you’re doing it! Not many people would do that because of the fear of the unknown. And your editing skills are awesome, love the clouds and butterflies! Another commenter suggested to get a Noco battery charger and I’d have to agree with him as it comes in very handy for car or bike and it’s compact. I can’t wait to see what the summer holds for you and hopefully one day I’ll come across you riding on the road! Stay safe! 🏍️

Enjoyed the episode. Just a suggestion, invest in a surge protector to use when you are plugged into a campsite to avoid power surge and damage to your van.

They sell the surge protector at Walmart. It comes in 15 amp 30 amp and 50 amp for campers/RVs over ft. They have what they call a dog bone where the 15 amp and 30 amp are together. Hope this helps.
Good advice!! Also, another GREAT investment is a portable jump starter (I have an Avapow from Walmart. $72 out the door) so you don't need ANYONE to jump start you. You jump yourself!! It comes in handy.

If you become a homesteader, it's best to buy land in the country than the city. You'll save a lot of money too. Good luck with everything!

Girl throw 50/50 vinegar in the tank and the odor will be gone. Save that tank & you'll have 2 tanks. The vanlife meet up seemed like a lot of fun. I was laughing when you said you wanted to turn around. 😆 🤣 😂 I'm 2 year's into vanlife as of the 3rd. of May. I love it. 👍

@@QueenSit I am doing vanlife Arizona right now and have been for a year (April 2, 2024). I build out my entire van (conversion) stripping its down to the metal. Installed all that a manufactured van would have. I also come from the luxury highrise on the river and thought this is all I would ever want, but you will come to see the advantages of living in a home as your potential is realized through this vanlife experience. @@QueenSitFraming, insulation, sound deadening, window install, max air fan install. All done by me. (KZhead University) Electrical and cabinetry are currently being done by a local van build company. When I get it back I’ll be doing the finishing touches. LED, puck lights, trim, paint, etc.

Wow! I’m learning so much before making that decision to jump into van life! My children laugh bcuz I wasn’t. able to camp outdoors in Yosemite Park 20 years ago! Instead, I got a ride to the nearest hotel in Fresno, CA. Returned for the festivities, had a blast until the last bus leaving Yosemite to the North Bay. I’m most grateful I did as my mom was awakened by a bear! God was with them. Her country rearing as a child enabled her to fend off the intruder! No thanks. However, I!’m more mature and more adventurous! I enjoy reading each comments! Yep, some days it’s time consuming, yet so worth it!, for example, the jump starter, and purge protectors. I’m continuing my list and loving it so far. Now if I can figure how to place the one unit washer/dryer in the 23 ft Ford Transit 3500, for the power and repair shops more readily available, then I’m all set to have it built to my specifications!🤗 I’ve seen one other van lifer with the washer/dryer unit and I was over the moon! Keeping my desires alive y’all!🤗

I had that same feeling living in Saint Louis. I didn't try the van life but had to leave Saint Louis. I swear if my plane layover there a sense of sadness comes over me. I loved my city but don't plan on returning

They make little battery pack jawns that can jump your car (NoCo and Halo are two brands I can think of off the top. I personally have a lil Halo brand one. Works REALLY well! Compact-Bout the size of 4 iPhones stacked. And you can get multiple jumps off it before having to charge it again (but I like to keep mine topped up) Looking forward to seeing more of your content! peace and love

I think your very wise and you made an excellent choice to live in your van. With economic uncertainty and all the problems worldwide the potential fall of the dollar etc.. All you have to do if anything jumps off is get in your van and roll to the mountains or woods and you will be just fine.

Nice to see you back online. This was a fun video, however I would advise you to really do more research on vanlife, especially when you have full hookups. You must know that using a standard (20amp) power cord was not what you should use. Vans use the 30-amp power (with surge protector and possibly a 50-to-30 amp converter), which means you should have plugged in to the left of the 20-amp plug. Good luck and we really enjoy watching your RVing adventures.

You need to invest in a portable jumping cables. So you can always have it on hands since you keep killing the batteries

I’m well! How are you? I was a teacher for 10 years. I work with van companies. Also, you can do door dash or deliveries with a van. You don’t have the price of rent like a house or apartment. You just have the van payment unless you purchase it
I am currently in Las Vegas, but originally from the DC area of northern VA. , I plan to travel the USA back to the East Coast. My worries are the cost of fuel I feel like that's gonna be brutal and I really want to take my time traveling stopping all over the USA seeing all the beauty out there! Since my dog Cruz the American bulldog passed , life has been so empty & lonely without him!! In his honor his life I adopted a sister of his, and didn't start another KZhead. I'm thinking about starting a KZhead of my new life at 43 starting over and traveling back to my home on the east coast but more travels because I plan to live in my van permanently and I'm excited for the change but nervous instead of rent it will be fixing up the van, care for the van and gas, food, space rent if I'm at a campsite care for my dog. So those will be my costs and it's kinda hard to know how much I expect to know it will cost me each month to GO!! I'm so happy for you,you're van looks so comfy and I know you still get on 2 wheels whenever you get the chance. You're life has to be so exciting and new everyday !!
