Just watched this was so happy all the way through and then I had to watch Aaron Ramsey break my heart all over again.
That same year, Rangers also qualified to the Champions League the next season, where they eventually played in the group stage. And you guess what happen next. Getting an insane group draw along with Ajax, Liverpool, and Napoli was such a catastrophic for this club. They didn't grab a single win or even point, becoming the worst team in competition with INSANE -20 GD. Only Viktoria Plzen that had the same worst GD record, albeit with most goals conceded (24).
We had an insane injury list that season, and played against Liverpool (for example) with an eighteen year old and a central midfielder as our centre backs. We also sold a couple of our best players from the previous season- Bassey and Aribo. In reality it wasn't the same team at all. Plus guys like McGregor, Arfield etc should have retired and were playing a season too many. Ultimately it was a step too far, but that seasons team wasn't really comparable to the seasons before due to injuries, players sold etc.
