If you have a 2012 and up M156 car you're good to go and have the new style head bolts. If your M156 is older than 2012 then look at your left valve cover sticker to read the engine serial number.
If your serial number is before 60-060658 then you have the old-style head bolts unless they were already replaced. If you're unsure just remove a valve cover and look! You might get lucky.
Here are some instructions on how to do the LIST! (This is only to be done on car that doesn't have broken mechanical parts of the engine. If you suspect and serious issue have it diagnosed)
1. Pull spark plugs and spray a carbon-removing product approved for engines in the cylinders. Don't go crazy here you don't need much at all. Let that sit for at least 1 hour.
2. Inspect and replace worn out spark plugs, fuel filter, and air filters.
3. Blow out carbon removing product from cylinder and install spark plugs
4. Pour and engine flush into engine oil and follow the instructions on the bottle for how long the engine needs to run.
5. Perform and oil change.
6. Inspect and either clean or replace your PCV valve. If you suspect the intake to have oil, remove intake and clean.
7. The fun part! After letting the engine warm up to operating temperature drive the car in a low gear and run engine at around 3000-4000 RPM. Obviously, be safe here and do this on an approved road. Vary load and RPM for 10-15 minutes. If you're on a closed course you can go wide open throttle and really blow that carbon out!
Have fun and I take zero responsibility for anything you do.
3.

  • I bought a loaded 2024 Subaru Outback Limited XT back in Sep ‘23 (below MSRP!!!), and it’s the first time I’ve EVER been in a Subaru-I’m in love! I literally keep adaptive cruise control on all the time, especially in heavy traffic, where I’ve got another layer of protection in case I’m looking at something off to the side at the same time the car in front of me slams on its breaks. Yes, that has happened more than once. So I like looking at things all around me. 😂 Your AMG is a gorgeous car, and I’m thoroughly enjoying this series (as I have all of your others).

  • Stock wheels all the way. They'll look great with the new rotors. The underside of that car is crazy clean. I sold cars for awhile in Georgia and, even though we don't have to worry about salt rust or anything, a 9 year old car would have more rust than that here. Excellent content as always. Makes me wish I was still physically capable of working on cars. My Mazda rollerskate is due for major service :)

    • Yup, also replace that aftermarket steering wheel with an OEM one, it's tacky as hell. Looks like a normal 9 year old car underneath to me, actually my 14 year old Lexus is like this underneath, but they don't salt the roads here either and the nearest beach is a good 40 minute drive away.

I paid an expert to do my mustang in the beginning and I didn’t wanna pay that much money again, it was crazy, expensive so I followed Alex’s video. I did it the same exact way step by step, and I ended up doing our other two cars and the sad part is they look way better than the professional did. • You should add a killer chiller to this unit! It ties the air to water intercooler into the AC system to chill the water. Reduces intake temps which obviously means more horsepower. I had one on my vk56de that was supercharged.

    @bmxguy08@bmxguy08 Жыл бұрын
    • I always suggest these to youtubers. I hardly ever see people using these or other chillers that use AC, but i think they work awesome. You can even use a 12volt ac compressor to make it easier to install.

  • In the NW of the UK an Italian tune up normally means talking it for a heavy drive after a service but the Italian tune up is thrashing the engine to remove some carbon deposits or blockages If you hear after a service It's still not quite right or the emissions are a little out Give it the Italian tune up It means drive you car hard at high revs to clean things out and rid it's self of granny mode from driving too gentle all the time

  • Alex, i also have a 2014 507, but a Sedan in Magno Platinum. The bad news is I got a check engine light leading to a P0017 fault code. I hope to get it fixed as soon as my daughter graduates college, but now you motivated me to at least open it to see if any damages can be seen. Thanks!

  • Personally, I love the way my 2011 Lexus ISF sounds. It's totally stock and I constantly get compliments on how it looks and sounds. I can only imagine how much better that sound would be if I were to install some nice performance aftermarket Intake and exhaust system. But I'm happy enough just keeping it stock and driving it everyday. It's a blast
