Welcome to another 10 minute aluminum boat build from #brigadeboats ! I had more labor hours in this boat than any before it,over 250+ hours. Hence, the thumbnail "NEVER AGAIN" , as I may never spend this much time or detail on another project! In this video I will document the transformation of an ugly and worn out Lowe 170 aluminum bass boat into a beautiful showstopping rig. Even better, I'll share the entire build out in just 10 minutes!
This project was a year and a half in the making. The owner and I began talks back in the winter of 2020. This build and footage in video took place from fall 2021 to spring 2022. I've been slowly editing this video for months, I truly hope you enjoy!
Don't forget to hop on the BRIGADE train and subscribe to the channel! You are a part of what keeps this thing in motion!
In this video I document the entire 17ft aluminum bass boat build, from start to finish. I show the entire process covering the trailer restoration, gutting boat, wiring, electronics, livewell install and test, aluminum fabrication and framing, aluminum decking and sheeting, installing aluminum anti flood hatches, eva foam decking, and much much more! Of course I'll show the tools used and share some tips and tricks along the way! At the end of the video we take a look at the finished project, which is absolutely stunning. We will also check in with the customer as he picks up his new dream machine!

  • The satisfaction of having done it yourself is priceless, and whoever hasn't been through a build like this, will never get it. I designed and built my own fiberglass Bass boat from an existing 16ft ski boat hull in 2014. Needs a new coat of paint, but still going strong, with a 150 HO Evinrude to help it along. But yes....never again...maybe 🤔

  • this was totally impressive, your attention to detail, and the fact you set it up to be electric is impressive. Loved the decking work, the switch panel(s), and most of all the plumbing and livewell finish. Well done !

  • Dude... Wow! You were so humble when you told me about your channel. Your attention to detail in both the boat and the production quality, and the "get-to-the-point-edness" to show the integral aspects of the buildout are each and all superlative compared to most. Well, done! You're gonna hit 100k subs pretty quickly. My grandfather said It's a good idea to prepare for ridiculously high levels of wealth and success BEFORE you actually achieve them. You can rest assured that is what we're gonna see you achieve. Then, we're gonna talk about getting me one of these awesome freaking jon boats for the family watershed!

    • @@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats Bro, Perfect Timing! I spent the afternoon on the river with my other business partner, and I introduced him to your channel here. I'll be back at the store Thursday and Friday, if you get a second either day around 1:30 or 2:00 - stop by or give me a call. I've got an opportunity that has potential to REALLY help not just you, but even greater it could be a game changer for both your home life and this awesome community of subscribers you're building here. It's the exact step in the right direction you said you needed, and regardless of what evolves we're all going to get a big boost of energy just from the conversation. It's cool that it doesn't really have anything to do with me but I still get to feel excited like an 8th grader who's seen where Santa stashed the new dirtbike until Christmas morning, lol! See you soon. Cheers, brother!

I’m guessing this was set up for electric only waters. The hull was the right size to be comfortable and stable, keeping things off the decks and out of the way. I hope you do something else in the future. Nice to watch someone do things right.

    @TiredOfApathy@TiredOfApathy9 ай бұрын
    • Man, loaded question because I built it for a customer and had labor cost. He bought some of the stuff, alrrady owned some parts, really hard to tell. I mean, the trolling motor alone is 3k. You could probably buy all the materials for 4-6k not including graphs or batteries or motors. But add in labor, candy paint, all the expensive electronics, this is a 25K boat all day.

    @vadimshadrin6728@vadimshadrin67289 ай бұрын
    • Would have drowned if it were left in as it was water soaked holding hundreds of pounds of weight. The owner specified he did not want any foam back in. This is an electric only reservoir boat, incredibly unlikely it will ever flip over. If it takes in water, it has a bilge pump.

    @joshualowe5545@joshualowe55458 ай бұрын
    • I'm not sure what hull you're referring to for 8K at bass pro. I built this for a customer. He had no problem paying my price for a one of a kind work of art. I build boats for people all over the country, and they wait over a year for me to do their boat. If the cheapest boat possible is what you want, I'm not your guy, and you don't see the value in hand crafted custom fabrication. Cheap is easy. Just drive to bass pro and finance. Get something that everyone can have and doesn't turn heads. Custom is custom. Typically more expensive and hard to find and definitely drops jaws at the boat ramp. To each their own though, im probably the wrong guy to ask about stock boats from bass pro, not my wheel house.

      @rumnboats7612@rumnboats761210 ай бұрын
    • Um I do. But not because they are electric. Because I like the electric only reservoirs and fisheries we have here in Ga. Greatfishing, scenic, peaceful. They are manmade and for drinking water, hence regulated electric only. The red boat now has a 50hp electric outboard on it with a 28mph top speed.

In my mind, never again means never building another one with riveted framing (i weld now) or possibly never again putting the amount of labor i did into this one. It's all been a learning experience and I enjoy the journey. I've been doing boat builds and content creation full time for almost two years now, I've made it work.

  • Nice Job! I'm considering pvc board for the flooring on my jon boat after watching another video. i figure, cost wise, it would be about the same, given the costs of plywood and resin. Not to mention all the time spent of resin drying and paint drying. Just wandering if anyone had done it on a jon boat. Here's the video I saw kzhead.info/sun/oMVsdLuOamNjfIk/bejne.html

    • I've always thought pvc board was flexible? I watched the video, ill have to look into it further. The pvc sheet ive seen at home depot flexed alot and was not solid like hdpe. That guy did a nice job though. For me personally, i just use all aluminum sheet and hatches now.

    • @@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats You’re probably right, just wondering if anyone had tried it. I replaced my transom boards using your method and couldn’t be happier, it just takes so long. But I know I’ll never have to worry about that again. Thanks for your videos brother.

  • Why would you do that much work to put a way under powered, little crappy electric motor on the back?

    • I did all that work to get paid. The customer uses the boat for electric only lake fishing. Thanks for watching.
