I made a walking house in Minecraft with slimeblocks in 2019, now utilising the Minecraft create mod, I made a running house in Minecraft (Sort of!). Utilising create mod minecart flying machines, we created a flying Minecraft house, then we created working Minecraft walking legs utilising sequenced gearshifts and gearboxes.

I remember seeing a Create elevator.... that GRABBED the side of a tower, and then PULLED itself up. It was SO cool, but I have no idea how it works. I imagine someone whos good at Create might be able to do something similar, but horizontal... What you can do with this mod is truly astonishing.
If I had to guess, it probably combines stickers and rope pulleys, if I'm understanding your explanation correctly. Technically the rope pulley would work on its own for an elevator but it wouldn't grab the side, it would grab the top

Mumbo, I use the create mod myself and I that when something is moving in a contraption, it doesn't need rotational force to be powered and work, so you could of attached the bearings in the contraption and they wouldn't need to be powered to be powered (Sorry for bad English) in other words, the bearings would of worked, you just wouldn't need to power them. (99% sure)

Mumbo if you have any blocks that need rotational power in a moving contraption like a minecart contraption you dont need to power them, they work automatically. like you had a drill and a pokey thingy which need rotational power to work normally but they just did their thing without powering cuz they were a part of a moving thingy. So you could have just chuck in there any old components and not worry about powering them! Hope this helps. love the create vids keep them up :)

This makes me think of some books I read when I was a kid. The Sisters Grimm is a fairytale adventure series containing many characters from popular nursery rhymes, bedtime stories, tall tales and such. One of the characters is a witch named Baba Yaga. She's a haggard old woman from (I believe) Russian Folklore. The old hag has a house with chicken legs that can run around, and remembering this is the only reason I clicked on this video.
The final product was .... Amazing!
