I made a working Bank in Minecraft

In this Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft redstone video, Mumbo builds a working bank in Minecraft that allows players to securely store Minecraft diamonds. This Minecraft redstone ATM machine has working bank cards, a 9 digit combination lock, and a secure storage system so if you're the richest Minecraft player, this is perfect. This build would be perfect for Minecraft multiplayer servers, SMP's, and Minecraft realms - however it does involve some complex redstone circuits, so it's for redstone experts only!

I don't remember what the inverse part of it does in that scenario but if I remember correctly it subtracts whatever inputs the side from the main piece and sends out a signal equal to that.

My thought is to have nine shulker boxes serving as the indicators, with an and gate on the return system to ensure the crushed shulker is returned before spitting out the new digit. You would need some additional xor gates to disable the controls while the system was cycling, not to mention grian-proofing everything with spam protection, but it would be doable.

  • Sure, you could use an ender chest, but you miss out on the ability to give someone your bank card to withdraw something for you, as well as the spicy potential for a bank heist. Not to mention that this could be expanded to allow for multiple shulker boxes to be revealed, granting multiple chests worth of storage space that only you can access. Also I like how this is just Sahara all over again. Must've been nice going back to his roots after becoming the richest hermit on the server.

  • A better ATM could be done using several keys: Take 10 hoppers (any number works, but 10 works fine for this). Give every person ceiling(log([AMOUNT OF USERS])) keys. For example, a bank with 240 customers will have 4 keys. Then input each key one at a time, store the output and use it to access an inventory. This is an improvement to the original design because the amount of space per customer grows logarithmically, which is amazing compared to the linear growth of the original design. However, the system is less user friendly compared to Mumbo's design. Edit: Another commenter mentioned that jukeboxes can detect which disc is being played. This can reduce the size of the system drastically :D Also, the design could be really user friendly by using shulker boxes as cards instead of individual cards. In that case, with both the jukebox and shulker box you could have 5.68⋅10³¹ total users. Another thing to mention is that the space will actually be O(n⋅log[n]) because of the storage for the actual items! Right now, another improvement could be having a central storage and a memory for each user, but then that takes us back to Mumbo's design with a hard wire for each customer. Maybe instead, you could have each shulker box represent some amount of diamonds (say 100 stacks), which could be used for bulk purchases. The shulker box would then be just a security system instead of a memory system. Oh hey would you look at that, I just made the minecraft equivalent of a dollar bill!

  • To save the individual combination in vanilla, you probably could set a row of filtered hoppers that lead to each combo container with a locked hopper under it. They would filter 4 stackable items (stacks of 16, like enderpearls), and use 4 different items, so they always go to the correct digit, then return the contents via water streams from unlocking the hopper below the combination container back to a single chest assigned to that player. For the combination containers, it'd just take a hopper as the container so it would take the fewest stackable items to assign the 1-9.

So flat you could probably stack them one-atop-another. And seeing how the selection system works, I think you could easily rewire it so that whoever you pick reroutes the circuit to another combination lock. Thats just my take thought. Excellent build!

You select the right shulker box upon reading of the card and empty it for impulse filters to place place the correct object to the correct chest therefor setting the 4 digits code. And when you close the account, you first disable the code reading mechanism, then empty the chests using a minecraft hopper that would put everything back into each player's code shulker in the right order?
