last prem player to win the ballon dor is enough to say who he is
Good comment !
also the last player to win man utd the UCL. to put it into perspective, when ronaldo left in 2008/09, man utd still have scholes, giggs, evra, ferdinand, vidic, rooney, nani, carrick etc2 WITH SIR ALEX FERGIE HIMSELF. they still couldnt win the UCL. fergie even added van persie, still no UCL title. ronaldo really are bigger than the club
@@izzarulhadi5163 stupid take, that 2008 season was when most of them hit their peak, after 2010, there was a clear decline in their quality as players except for Ronaldo, its when age was catching up to them, add to that Glazers refused to spend money to rebuild the squad at that time, its even said by SAF that he didnt see the 60 million from the Ronaldo transfer at all ever, the only major transfers after Ronaldo left were Valencia and DDG and RVP, thats how bad it was for United back then, it didn't seem like it cause it was SAF
@@jr5034 funny, they started to decline because of their "age" as soon as ronaldo left? talk about coincidence. in that time, age isnt a factor to them because they're class players. like how age doesnt effect modric, kroos, pirlo etc2.. furthermore, Fergie doesnt depend on player's prime, its all tactical. still couldn't win the UCL
@@izzarulhadi5163 the team declined with Ronaldo, 07/08 they beat Barca in the UCL, next season they were fully battered even with Ronaldo in the team, they didnt even have the ball in that final practically and Rio,Evra clearly had brain farts in that final and were clearly slower, dont give me the bs Guardiola wasnt there in 07/08, Barca when they played United were running in Hot form on a 12 game win streak and had battered athleti, real, Villa, Sevilla, the downfall was under progress

Just two things to say : 1) MESSI was lucky that Ronaldo got injured and his playstyle was changed forever. 2) All UCL giants were lucky that Ronaldo left REAL MADRID at the peak of his PRIME.
Just two thing to counter: 1) Messi also have injuries, even long one but he never changed his play style so that's not a good excuse unless you were saying Ronaldo not good enough to overcome his injury to play normally. 2) Ronaldo already in decline during his last year with Madrid. It pretty obvious if you look at his declining goal number over the year

I have always enjoyed watching these videos. People explaining how good a player was in their prime. Players like Zidane, Maldini, R9, and so on. But as much as I enjoyed watching this video, it made me inevitably realize that we are not going to have this guy in European football ever again especially after the Euros. It is a weird feeling to see someone you grew up watching and idolizing, treated as if they were a art piece in the Museum. Back then, he needed no explanation for people to understand how good he was. But now, especially the younger generation needs an explanation like a piece of art in the Museum to explain how great he was. Although it is not so far into the past, I already miss him.
Poetically put. It is like every time someone mentions Ronaldo is turning 40 in a few months, everyone freaks out seeing him in that beautiful Portugal kit. Performance wise he surely has plummeted but somehow remains sharp in the box, still has a decent cross in him, passing and link up play is still okay, he has maintained his enormous leap, he still is in good physique, he can still be very useful, just not as well as the Ronaldo of the old. Today's Ronaldo clearly would flourish in a system that crosses the ball heavily, circa 3-peat Madrid. He had Marcelo, Kroos, Bale, Carvajal, Vazquez, Modric and even Ramos spamming crosses into the box all game, he would maybe get to the end of 4 out of 15 crosses, but end up with a brace or hattrick! Their gameplan was that simple. It helped they had people very good in the air roaming around the box like flies, Bale, Benzema, Ramos, Pepe, Varane and Casemiro were nightmares in the air too, waiting to pounce on the crosses that don't land to Ronaldo. This is the only path Ronaldo makes sense as a starter in the National team, not putting him in a system that will demand him to press like a hungry dog, that is not what he is good at. The other option is to bench Ronaldo, I am not sure how Ronaldo would respond to that, I guess we will see. All I know is if Ronny has a good Euros and the team somehow manages to be the first actual golden generation in forever to deliver, he is gonna push for the 2026 World Cup as the final nail in a coffin to his long ass career! It would be sour if Portugal disappoints at the Euros, again.
Ronaldo and messi are the greatest players of all time
I still want to see cr7 and Messi play in the same team before they retire. I hope it happens.
Who is hazard ? 🤣
Who ? 😂
If I needed the most clutch goal imaginable I'm subbing in CR7. If I needed one man to improve the entire team I'm subbing on Messi. They are both the greatest to ever do it.
That what Inter Miami thought
Look... I can bet anything on this: As a CR7 fan, I'd say anytime any day, this Ronaldo vs. Messi debate will always spark an argument within any group of sports fans... ANYTIME, ANYDAY.
He was an absolute weapon. I feel the difference between him and Messi is that Ronaldo could have played his entire career at Stoke and he'd still have the records he has. Also when is his prime? He was in his prime for about 15 years haha This video is mental. Him and Hazard? You can argue hes the best ever.

Natural talent? perhaps Hazard did have it more than CR7, but when it comes to the hunger, professionalism, and disciplining their bodies, CR7 is the best of all time. that guy is obsessed with maintaining his physicality.
He might have more talent but no one can beat his hardwork that's why he is the best

Sick thumbnail
In my opinion Messi and Cristiano are the two best players to ever play the game of football
What hazard meant was that he was born more gifted than Ronaldo, meaning that if Hazard had applied himself in football and in training like somebody like CR7, then he couldve been on the same level if not better. If you have seen any of the Hazard interviews and interviews with managers you know he didnt try at all in training and hated it and only played in the games Lol. Ronaldo is clear of him of course but its the what couldve been.
The quote. The first player to win it, the only player to win it. Says it all
Attitude + Hardwork + Dedication makes both CR7 n Messi at the top competitive in 11 years!!! No one compares with these 2 players... Maybe Ronaldo R9 or Ronaldhinho more skillfull to them, but they have injured n lifestyle brazil makes they have a short career.. So now we hope Mbappe.
I agree with hazard, LET ME EXPLAIN: Hazard has more natural talent meaning that even if he didn't go to training he would be good. Now Ronaldo, he is a self built machine, if he didn't put all those hours in training, maybe he wouldn't be so good, he has natural talent, but he went beyond that and trained to become the best of all time. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard 🇵🇹❤️

Nobody forgot how good he was, there will never be a player as feared as this guy. You can argue he's not the best player of all time or that Messi may be better, but this was the one player no defender ever wanted to face, every fan remembers that. Messi never had the mentality Ronaldo had, not remotely close. That's why Ronaldo won back to back European titles at Madrid for fun. Drawing Real Madrid on the knockout stages in those years was an early ticket home for any team.
I wonder why people even give care to Hazard's comment. Look at time in Madrid it says it all, he thought he was playing his usual PL game level. And for those saying injury, understand that Hazard's injury doesn't compare to that of Ronnie. But CR7 bounced back because of mentality which Hazard lack.

The thing Hazard tried i say is that he has pure talent, which is true, Ronaldo reached his level through training hard training and discipline which is more astounding

never really a prime Ronaldo, he just simply evolved. It's what made him so great as a player and rival to Messi. He used to dribble, at one point was good a free kicks. As he aged, he had to reinvent himself, being a player that off the ball creates plays with runs, eventually going from a 7 to a 9. there was never a point where Ronaldo was complete as a player, he was always a complete striker. His skills never aligned to be that complete at the same time, this is an illusion that the video games and his PR have pushed. Great player, legend.
