I can't believe it's been nearly 30 years!⚽
Golden generation of Bulgaria, created every 100 years in every smaller nation, ( Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece and especially, Croatia )! Stoickhov, Ivanov, Kostadinov, Balakov and the boys were easy capable of lifting a trophy, just with little bit more discipline, commitment and experience. Brilliant open and entertaining football, with few reserved calculations, will never be seen again

Эххх, было время..... А на нынешний болгарский футбол без слез нельзя смотреть😢
The golden era of Bulgaria 🇧🇬
This match make me crying
Respect Bulgaria from romania😊
A great match, for ever! Greetings from Bulgaria!🎉
Well done Bulgaria!
Ese día fué el mas 🎉. Saludos a los bulgaros desde Sudamerica.
Andy Moller shot really fucked Ivanov up. This will be an iconic moment in this match
Not even CR7 dives like that 😅
A great Bulgarian squad!
Great game. Germany were almost dominant in the first half, yet without creating many clear-cut scoring chances. I think the Germans were too quick to go for long range shots in this game; certainly they had some players capable of scoring from outside the box, but it's not the surest way to score and I think they wasted some attacking potential by not looking to pass into the box in many of those situations. Then Klinsmann gets electrocuted by the Bulgarian defender's shin early in the second half @5:05, and the technically strong but slightly ageing German side gets in front. However, the Bulgarians fought back to claim a historic semi-final place. I felt ambivalent about this result; the Bulgarians were one of the stand out teams of the tournament and their performance merited the victory, but I had a soft spot for the Germans. They had largely been written off as prime contenders for the trophy before the competition began, the core of their indomitable 1990 side was still there but past their best (particularly Voller, Hassler, Brehme, Matthaus; all great players who were nevertheless showing their years, a bit lacking in pace). Klinsmann still looked pretty sharp, and Moller was just reaching his prime. @7:33 a terrific German shot (the one's I complained about, from outside the box, this time very nearly a brilliant goal :) ) cannons off the post and Voller puts it away, but he was marginally offside when the initial shot was struck. Germany might very well have gone through had Voller kept a keener eye on the defensive line.
Thomas Hassler was 28 yrs old in this WC. He was in his prime, small, full of dynamite and packed with stamina; his trade mark long throw was the best in the world at that time. Rudi Woller was 32, still fast and capable. Lothar Matthaus was playing defence libero, tottaly different role and position than 1990., when he was an attacking midfielder! Not sure if this was his or Berti Vogts's decision, nevertheless a cardinal mistake that deadened squads sharpness in attack! Although Moller was complete midfielder, he was not a natural leader with ability to dictate the game and decide it in crucial circumstances. There will always be impression that Germany of 1994., fantastic team with experience, lacked that motivation , drive and spark of hunger, the only step needed to make them champions again
Germany got dominated the entire match. Rarely created any chances and when they did, the Bulgarian goalkeeper was excellent. Balakov hit the woodwork early on, should have been a goal. Klinsmann penalty was a blatant dive. Even down 2-1 Germany rarely threatened.
@@SKa-tt9nm You must have watched the wrong match, mate. Germany dominated the complete first half, Klinsmann's penalty was 100 % correct (even though he fell theatrically). Then Bulgaria was lucky that Völler's goal didn't count (very marginal offside). Normally, with a little more routine Germany ought to have won that match. That said, the Bulgarian team 1994 was of course a very good one. But they had no reserves left after this quarter-final, they lost the semi-final - and in the match for 3rd place they were literally dismantled by Sweden.
Οι δύο καλύτερες ομάδες τού Παγκοσμίου Κυπέλλου 1994 : Βουλγαρία και Ρουμανία. Γειά σας ομαδάρες μου!!

Un partido emocionante.
German captain MATTHAUS years after this match said the reason GERMANY lost this match was because the squad as a whole was not united with the goal of retaining their title. He pointed out EFFENBERG being sent home after the Korea game in the first round and the fact the BODO ILLGNER came out and also said the unity was not there in that squad in USA'94. So if you believe MATTHAUS & ILLGNER then it was more a mental issue than BULGARIA being that much better than GERMANY.
Actually the German team wasn't clever enough and certainly not as good as the 1990 WC team. And even if they had managed to win over Bulgaria. they'd have lost the semi-finals vs. Italy in any case.
I wanted to see Italy vs Germany 1994 world semifinal 🥺
Semi final 1994 world cup Italy vs bulgaria not germany
No way
Was eine Enttäuschung damals für mich😓
El tiro libre de Stoichkov es similar al de Roberto Carlos, pero como no es brasileño nadie lo recuerda y eso que fue en una copa mundial y el de RC en un amistoso
Unity in a squad is important, the HOLLAND squad in 1990 was talented but had no unity when playing so the DUTCH also failed to do well in 1990 so maybe MATTHAUS & ILLGNER had a point about the loss to BULGARIA was more of a mental issue than a physical one.
Combination of two major factors. Germany vastly underestimated the Bulgarian team. The Bulgarian team wasn’t intimidated - neither by Germany nor by the moment.,

7:51 the bulgarian guy just flopped to the ground... what a despicable action!
Not like the fair play of Germany-Austria 1982 or Sweden Denmark 2004

Klinsmann also dived. It is never a penalty.
