  • It’s just remarkable how most people in the comments chose to ignore the fact that the boy chose to threaten the man with a very realistic toy gun. The reason why this film was so good was not because of the love and bravery the boy showcased, but rather the contrast between the sweet nature of his feelings and the horrifying potential his actions showcased. I’d say the boy’s actions are not to be praised for sure.

  • This story was both lovely and terrifying. Just the other day a small boy did actually shoot someone at school. His teacher. I don’t think we should glorify the horrific reality of what is becoming all too real. Even if the gun is fake, a culture becoming aware that this can and does happen, will not look at guns at school as anything less than a threat to very real violence.

  • This is why it’s important to have intelligent conversation with children, so they can stay grounded in reality. Children are smarter than what we take them for, there’s no need to be condescending.

  • The best part is how the teacher handles the first conversation. I agree this is fiction but this actually happens in real life, & it's very important to handle these situations in a mature manner by the adults or else it can leave a very huge impact on the kids mind.

  • Loved it. For me it was my 4th grade teacher. I sat all the way in the back of the class and when we were all reading, she would have a free moment and gaze past me out the window I sat in front of. It was like she was looking at me. I cherished that moment daily.

  • LOVED it!! I laughed out loud when the kid said "that's not my problem"; then thought "OMG this is NOT ok!" when the kid pulled the trigger. I was SO tensed when I saw the idiot just laying there like he was dead, and then PHEW, I exhaled with relief to the fact that it was just a good old fashioned film about a little guy with a crush on his teacher. Very interesting & entertaining indeed!!

  • I'm a teacher. The first half of this movie starts like the "inappropriate relationship" movies we have to watch from the school board. This teacher actually made several serious mistakes that can be interpreted as grooming. She should not have accepted the ring at all. If a little girl had a crush on a male teacher, everyone would be able to see this for what it is, which is uncomfortable. Imagine if a male teacher said "so are we engaged then?" I had two different male students say they wanted to marry me. I explained to both of them that an adult and a child can't be engaged because their minds are at very different stages of growing. Instead, we have a very special kind of relationship called "teacher and student" where we learn from each other, treat each other with respect, and the teacher encourages the student to believe in themselves and follow their dreams. That type of relationship is very special and that is the kind we have and the only kind we should have. Both students received this very well and moved on to crushes their own age.
