I took the DJI Avata 2 to do some low light testing at t sunrise at the rice terraces in Bali. The results were stunning. This camera performs very well in low light and even better than the GoPro 12 I use on other drones.

The Avata 2 is SO much fun. Long time DJI pilot from 1st Mavic, P4P, Mavic Air 2... Just getting into FPV with the A2 and it's been a BLAST. First drone I've owned that is fun to fly for literally just the sake of flying it. Subject to film or no subject to film. Very happy with my purchase.
Welome to FPV! It's awesome, the Avata 2 is also such a great little drone. The perfect first FPV drone in my opinion, do be careful. FPV drones have a habit of multiplying when you get them 😂

@JustinBainbridgeYT I have not, but I do plan to get the 04 Air Unit if it doesn't have remote ID. If so, I guess 03 is as far as I go.

I've just got used to looking at the darker image during my time with fpv. It's all about knowing where to look on the screen and also being ready to react if anything unexpected happens. 😃

Looks awesome!! Can I ask what you did for camera settings? Im assuming manual 100iso, 120 shutter with a low ND? Any major tweaks in post?
Thank you! Sure my settings were as follows - Manual, ISO 100. 120 shutter, 5500k WB, 4K60, Ultrawide, Rocksteady, Dlog-m. No ND in this case, I''m waiting on my freewell filters to arrive. In post I had to play with each clip, but mostly just increasing the contrast a touch, lowering the shadows or lifting them if the contrast pulled them too far, add saturation, add a little warmth, and that's pretty much it. some higlight adjustment on some clips but nothing major to be honest. I really like the dynamic range on this one. I chose not to do uch of a colour grade on this as I liked the natural tones.

Hey bro! Nice shots! Just got the Avata 2 here, and wanna ask you… are you using rocksteady or gyro in these shots? I was using the DJI fpv with the gopro 11 on it, and the gopro is really more ultrawide after the gyroflow… and I tested all the ways here with the Avata 2 and is hard to say wich settings is the best… What do you think?
I've was using ultrawide with rocksteady for all of these shots, 2 of them were shot in 4:3 so I could also crop them for instagram, but for me, those are my go to settings. I did used to stabilise O3 footage in gyroflow and still stabilise all my gopro footage in gryoflow but the new version of rock steady is much better in my opinion. I fly pretty smoothly anyway so the stabilisation that rocksteady does is fine for ma and saves me a lot of time in post. 😃

Hey! I never fly at night. Sunrise and sunset are the low-light settings I normally fly in so that's what I'm most interested in seeing. 😃

@THEEYEINTHESKIES 😂 Yeah, it would be a mission, especially since these rice terraces have ziplines, wires, and swings everywhere. The wires are hard enough to see in the daytime 😅 I was really impressed with the footage either way, the O3 looked terrible when I flew it here, I still have the footage and the difference is insane. This new camera is actually beautiful. Better low light than a GoPro too.

AVATA2 IS make to be fixed by DJI its fragile the busness of fixing is more important for there than selling drone !
It is more fragile, yes, but for how a cinewhoop should be flown, I think it's fine. Being lightweight sometimes comes at the cost of durability. But it comes with many benefits when you're flying. 😃
Hay how about make a video to target. Why do we need so many controllers? DJI IS NOT being environmentally friendly. You KZheadrs must reach out to DJI to also have the controller 3 compatible with others drones like the Mini 4 and Air 3 Or the RC 2 compatible with the Avata 2. This seems so logical why hasn't DJI done this? It's all O4 so it should just be a software update.
Hopefully more cross compatability will come in future updates. A agree that it's annoying to have so many different peices, but some things are better suited to certain products. It would make sense for the RC2 to become compatible with goggles 3 for the Mini 4 Pro. Only time will tell I guess. 😃
You should stop calling 60 fps video “cinematic”.
That's about as good as we're going to get on an FPV drone where we're doing the goggles feed and recording through the same camera. Flying at 30fps through the goggles is almost unflyably bad. Thanks for your input 😃
@@JustinBainbridgeYT Slow it to 40% or 80% on a 24fps timeline, then it might be cinematic. Straight up 60fps looks cheesy for cinewhoop cruising.
