The Nintendo Entertainment System (commonly abbreviated as NES) is an 8-bit home video game console that was developed and manufactured by Nintendo.
The best-selling gaming console of its time, the NES helped revitalize the US video game industry following the video game crash of 1983. With the NES, Nintendo introduced a now-standard business model of licensing third-party developers, authorizing them to produce and distribute titles for Nintendo's platform.
It was initially released in Japan as the Family Computer on July 15, 1983, and was later released in North America during 1985, in Europe during 1986, and Australia in 1987. In South Korea, it was known as the Hyundai Comboy and was distributed by SK Hynix which then was known as Hyundai Electronics. It was succeeded by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
In 2009, the Nintendo Entertainment System was named the single greatest video game console in history by IGN, in a list of 25. It was judged the second greatest console behind the Sega Dreamcast in PC Magazine's "Top 10 Video Game Consoles of All Time".

Man, my respects for making this video. It sure took a lot of work and research. How long did it took to make a video like these??
Hi José, I'm glad you liked it. It took about 2 months to do all the research, grab the material (like the covers and stuff), record the gameplays and edit the video. :)
That's very impresive! again, my respects. And thanks for making this video! it helped me remember a lot of videogames that i used to play when i was a kid :)
Hi thanks hope to find the title of the game I am looking for
Im looking for a game too....
Hope you find it! If there's a video on youtube that can help you, it's this one
In case anyone is wanting to skip to a specific letter in the alphabet, here you go. Also, remember in this video that a game is always listed by its American title first (if it had a release there), then the European, then finally the Japanese. So for instance, a Japanese game (regardless of its title) that saw an American or European release will always be listed under its American and/or European title in the alphabet FIRST. If a title was released in Europe and Japan (but not America) it will be listed under its European title FIRST. Only if a game was Japan exclusive will it use its own name and be listed in that spot in the alphabet. The only exception to this seems to be if the game was planned for release in America or Europe but was then cancelled. In this case it will be listed by the name it used in the first country in which it saw release instead (but will show the name it would have gone by in the other countries as well). Also, a game may not seem like it is listed here, but if the game has a person's name at the beginning of the title (for instance a sports star or the game's creator, it will likely be listed under that person's name and not the latter part of the title like you would expect). Amazing list BTW, VGL. # 0:02 A 1:32 B 12:52 C 28:32 D 41:31 E 57:12 F 59:52 G 1:12:02 H 1:23:41 I 1:32:01 J 1:37:51 K 1:43:51 L 1:55:21 M 2:01:21 N 2:20:31 O 2:27:31 P 2:29:51 Q 2:40:21 R 2:41:10 S 2:49:40 T 3:16:00 U 3:32:00 V 3:35:21 W 3:36:40 X 3:44:10 Y 3:44:41 Z 3:47:10

A colossal effort on your behalf! Your videos are greatly helping me to build my own retro games collection. I've found many new gems as well as rediscovering old ones that time made me forget! Thanks for helping give pieces of my youth back. :)

@leigh I love the original super Mario and teenage mutant ninja turtles but was never able to beat them….did you see the show that was based in Mario 2 or was that before your time? I can’t still hear the theme song in my head.
@cmrwrite: Yes, I loved that cartoon and it wasn't before my time, being born in 1981. I, too, could never beat TMHT but back then, it was cool just having a game based on my favourite cartoon. (MMPR would soon take that spot) I play Super Mario Bros. at least once a year and can easily complete it.
I have a PS4 and a gaming computer but why do I miss these games. Nothing can replace the good times with NES.
You could buy a NES Classic Mini you can Download these games on it
This is really interesting. I find it amusing that there seem to be about 20 baseball video games that all look virtually identical and even have very similar music.
1:35:55 wow, Sky Destroyer melody
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I’ve been looking for a specific game that I played when I was a kid for YEARS and I finally know what it’s called now! Again, thank you for doing this, must of taken a long time.
38:43 still one of my favorite nes games!!!
Same bro, sameee. Im too attached on stage 5 ost lol
I dont know if this has been brought to your attention before but three games are mislabeled; 35:03 Chuka Taisen is Chuugoku Janshi Story: Tonpuu 35:13 Chuugoku Janshi Story: Tonpuu is Chuugoku Senseijutsu and 35:23 Chuugoku Senseijutsu is Chuka Taisen. Your work is phenomenal so I hope this can help you in documenting these titles so thoroughly.
oh man thank you very much for clarifying the error, it had left me confused👍🏻
Thank you so very much for making this video! You either have all of these games or done a great deal of research to put all this together! Incredible!!!
Thanks for making this, but you're absolutely insane for checking and recording all these games!!
2:35:19. Pipe Dreams is the reason I went to Janitorial Arts College in Flushing New York.
Hey that game looks and plays similar to one Ed Edd And Eddy flash game! I remember I played a very similar one.
Man, you did an excellent job! I was planning to play my old nes games and wanted to make a list. You helped so much. In addition, every game in the video is playing 10 seconds and it made my job easier. Thank you very much.
I love all your work and patience put into this project, clean and just enough gameplay to see what the games are all about. thanks!
1:59:32 I came here for this... I thought it was called "The Dream Master" as a kid. Thanks *Virtual Gaming Library - VGL* =)
DUDE, THANKS FOR THIS TIMESTAMP!!! 😂 Was looking for this game since the past week.

Thanks. Known and played less than 10% of these, and I finally found and remembered the titles of some of my favorite games due to this video. thanks again.

Been watching your channel since I found this series in 2017.. These projects are mind blowing. I found them because I had the idea to do the same thing, but just with all nintendo games.. Turned out you'd done it already and saved me a ton of time! hahaha. Seriously though. Thank you for doing these. I love them and before I knew that you'd done this, I seriously felt like it was something that needed to be done on youtube.. Keep up the good work and good luck with the channel going forward.
Truly an impressive piece of work! Hats off for taking hours and hours of your time to make this video.
This is absolutely incredible man! Amazing job!
I'm glad you enjoyed thepaganwinter. :)
The most iconic of these retro consoles is their polyphonic sounds.
Unbelievable work, great video! The effort it took is crazy. Thank you!
Very cool project. About half of the Japanese exclusives have also been fan-translated, so the amount of games without a translation is actually much smaller (about 300 at most). Thanks for doing this!
I can see the intensity of effort you put in to this masterpiece work. Damn, what level of patience, dedication and love for this NES gaming should make you do this video. Massive respect Sir!!
You deserve millions of views on this, your job has been amazing !
I finished it all in 2 days! My Game Collection List went from about 200 games to 428 games.. God damn, this is a nice channel! Time for the next console.

Wow, what a journey I had through NES! Thanks again Virtual Gaming Library!...
Wonderful work! And we can find where a lot of modern games got their inspirations!
Thank you so much for this video. I've been looking up websites that say they have every game on file but could never find all the games I played as a kid but I went through this whole thing and couldn't believe it. All the memories. Thanks so much.
This is such an epic job. well done. I found all the games I have been looking for such a long time. Big thanks
3:57 this was the game i was looking for xD.
Awesome job guys. I finally found "Akumajou special:boku dracula-kun" a game we were so fond of playing back in the early 90s. Brought back epic nostalgia. Will be playing this on my android emu. Respect from Manila.
Thanks Jose, this game is really great, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Zero idea that that was its title, but images of that game I never forgot. We just called it "kid dracula" back then coz the cartridge and the entire game had only Japanese texts in it.
Jose Ruel Pajarion I’m also in Manila and I absolutely love Boku Dracula Kun!
I can't thank you enough for your work with this project!
2:38:21 Growing up in EU I had no idea this game existed, but seeing it was only released in the US and JP I can understand. Funny to see Lindros in an NES game.
As Always, Virtual Gaming library the best resource for look the complete catalogue of games of our old systems, for rom collectors like me your videos are the perfect stuff. keep the good work.
Thanks a lot bro! :-)
Thank you so much so much for this!!!!!!!!! My appreciation has no bounds to you! :)
I can't even imagine how much time, work and effort you've put into this video... Thank you!
2:47:14 thank you so much, finally i found that game. I had japanese version, didnt know the title so it was really hard to find it. After 27 years I can play this game again

Thanks for showing all of this!!
i just enjoy looking at lots of nes goodness, cheers
I remember more the japanese games because I used to live in South America and it's common in this lands to have a cheap famiclon for first console with a multicart. Great job I recognized your effort and it was a great experience remember some games from my childhood.
I had a Plug and play shaped like a 64 and a Polystation they were my first steps in gaming. They overheated like shit
This was the same in Czechia.
@@sahhdsful Polystation amazing console with those 1000 in 1 games xd, they were all the same lol
There was something magical about the feeling, style and music of many Japanese games.
Vocês são brasileiros? You are Brazilians?

wow ... this video is a piece of art ... thank you for this great effort
Thank you very much! Watched till the very end. Found lost games. Thank you very much!

Mad respect for this compilation.
Incredible dedication.
Thanks to this I found all the games I used to play when I was a kid .. Thanks.....and yes Thanks for all the effort you put into making this...😊

2:45:03 best nes game
I watched the whole video just to find this again!
indeed
Space Hunter was the game I was looking for.
Thanks for the vid! Helped me find these Famiclone games from my young era. 😀
Thank you - I've found a game that I was looking for a long time, and a few others I totally forgot. But truth be told this list is not complete. I could mention a few games which you didn't include over here but they were definitely on NES. Cheers! For example the Camerica Games from the Oliver twins. Like Big nose the Caveman, Big Nose freaks out, The fantastic adventures of Dizzy, Ultimate Stuntman, Go Dizzy Go, Robin Hood, Bumerang Kid and a few others as well. Cheers!
and Micro Machines which was also a Camerica game!!!

why is there no street fighter in the video ?
@@SlimPure Because there wasn't any official Street Fighter release on the NES. If you got one, that was an unofficial release from some chinese developer.

Now this video is brilliantly fantastic work of excellence, thank you, i found all of the NES games i was looking for. There's NES games i thought i hallucinated their existence it's been years since i've played them, however now i know these NES games do exist, because of all your hard work and immense effort i shall subscribe.
Brings back great memories
Big respect and hats off for your effort. Thank you.
To think that this video's size is much bigger than the size of all those games combined...
actually pretty common for that to be the case, until we get to the CD games anyways.
You're awsome... thanks a lot. Regards from México.
Make sure you guys atleast like the video, this man deserves respek for what hes done. This is just over a quarter of the amount of games in his playstation 2 video.
beautiful old memories sparkles in mind. i guess ive missed so many nice looking games those days. only if i can time travel and play them again finding some cassettes haha
Cara, muito bom mesmo, imagino o trabalho duro que foi... jogo rodando no meio de alguma ação, música e a capinha!!! Parabéns!
It would be very appreciated if someone managed to get all of the Roms together in one single package. Imagine modding the NES Classic and putting all of these in it? Now that would be rad.
You can make this yourself with a raspberry pi. I did it. Cost me about $90 all up for the raspberry pi, case and power cord. I use my Xbox controller to play, but you can use pretty much any Bluetooth or usb controller. And the plus side, you can emulate other systems as well. Anything pretty much up to the PS1.
Everdrive....

Coming back here in 2021 to see this video artwork! My congratulations to the channel owner!
Love watching this, I've seen it at least twice. I noticed that some of the games featured in the video have some mistakes regarding regions. Games like "Crackout", "Rush n Attack" and "Zelda II: Link's Awakening" were released in Japan for the Famicom Disk System. If this is strictly cartridge games, then disregard this.
Yeah, I get the feeling this video excludes the Famicom Disk System entirely.
DotDecorANDmore they ARE technically NES games
Robotdoom702 That’s true, but my point has more to do with the pictures/titles that are shown on the left of the video, it says (US/EU/JP). The author didn’t put the Japanese titles of the Famicom Disk System games, where non-FDS got their Japanese titles put in. It doesn’t take anything away from the awesome video, just a minor detail I noticed.
@@dotdecorandmore7480 oh I get it now
51:13 thanks frist game found it!
Title : ダウ・ボーイ
I found many missing games, thank you so much!!!
