When Aldo Showed He Was Still Elite

In 2017 the legendary José Aldo lost his UFC Featherweight title to Max Holloway, and loss in the rematch later that year also. Some believed that Aldo's run at the top was over and a sharp decline was evident. But in 2018 Aldo would defeat a surging contender in Jeremy Stephens with a spectacular hook to the body that would eventually lead to a TKO. Aldo showed plenty of emotion after the finish and said it was due to his difficult 2017. But he credited his team and family during the postfight press conference for helping him bounce back and win. #ufc #josealdo #shorts

    • @@srr3097 yes I agree. But that’s doesn’t make him a top fighter. That power will only get u so far. Before Aldo loss, he beat Gilbert Melendez who was on a 3 fight losing streak before fighting Jeremy. Lost to pettis for the title (don’t know how he got a title shot off beating Diego Sanchez), lost to Eddie Alvarez who wasn’t even good enough to stay in the ufc for long, and lost to Edson who is a gatekeeper of the sport then he fought Jeremy and lost. Beat Doo ho Choi who wasn’t even ranked and his 3 wins in the ufc were against nobodies then went on a 4 fight losing streak. His only notable recent win was against Josh Emmett, and even Josh can’t break in to the top 5 in that division. After loss to aldo, Jeremy went on a 5 fight losing streak and got cut from the ufc and went to boxing and lost miserably there also, and once again by Jose Aldo and idk how many other guys. Maybe 1 or 2. I don’t really follow that silly boxing stuff with the KZheadrs and celebrity boxing stuff. So again, he fought Jeremy Stephen’s, stop it lol. Besides Emmett, who are some top guys Jeremy beat? All the top guys he fought he lost to.

  • Aldo is a beast, even when he was no longer at his best the guy only lost against champions, he himself took care of erasing the rest from the division.

  • Aldo should always be in GOAT consideration, not only for the period of his dominance, but also for him proving he still got this even in toughest divisions. Not many can make comebacks
