As of 12/26/2020 MSFS version 1.12.13.0 the default profile for the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant has a bug with the autopilot VS mode selector knob.
It is a bad keybind in MSFS, not a problem with the Honeycomb Bravo.
The proper way this should work is the left knob controls what the right knob adjusts. The buttons activate to deactivate the function. The knobs should never activate or deactivate the function. The VS knob is improperly doing this.
This video shows how to fix it.
Thank you in advance! My Bravo Throttle has been sitting in a fedex warehouse in Hong Kong for over a week! Can’t wait to get it!
Your videos are awesome. This issue bugged me and I couldn't figure out what was going on, just knew it didn't feel right. Thanks so much for this !
Thanks for this. Just tried autopilot for first time and couldn’t understand what I was doing wrong or wondered if I had a faulty unit! Will give this a try!
As I wait for my throttles to arrive (shipped but sitting in HKG for 5 days now), your videos are saving me a lot of future setup headaches. Thank you!
Mines been sitting in Hong Kong for 8 days :(
Mine sat in Hong Kong for 10 Days, but she came yesterday :) now I have to set this thing up, trying to get my buttons configured and i'm off:)
@@blosseraf same thing. It's taking awhile to get settings the way I want.
This is it!! You nailed it! This is exactly what was causing my problems. Thanks again for your video. Asobo should pay more attention to this.
This one could be Honeycomb problem, since it's the manufacturer who usually send their profile to the developer. This is just a guess though, so I could be very wrong. Although it is just a default profile and easily changed.
A huge THANK YOU!!!! This fixed the huge issue of ILS not working! I love my sim again😃👍
Great job, Sir. I really appreciate all the work you've done with all your videos and I eagerly watched all of them. Re this particular video, I actually think that this info is no more updated. Seems like all the updating done to the sim and to Bravo driver could have changed the situation. In fact I didn't have the binding you mentioned, and nothing happened to my VS mode by passing on it on left knob. I had instead another different wrong HOLD binding that I canceled as for your correct suggestion. But the issue I have now is that on the setting you suggested here I am unable to change VS values after the setting on VS on left knob and by rotating the right knob. I am specifically talking about the Bendix KAP 140 simulated on the default "analogic" C172. After properly selecting an altitude, when I select second tick on left knob and by pressing VS button nothin happens to the value on display that stays stuck to the altitude I armed before. To change the value of vertical speed I can use only UP and DOWN buttons on the cockpit AP panel. I also watched a video where another guy suggested a completely different approach by using "SLOT INDEX MOD" instead of your "SET BUG MODE". It depends on further or previous versions of the software? Have you any suggestion for my problem? Thx in advance
Super helpful video again Rmag, thanks!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I search for this Problem for a Month! Not Aerosoft and Honeycomb cant help me with this Problem!
Thank you so much sir! I have subbed and liked! I am going through all of your videos now! :) Have a great day!
UPS just sent me an email - it's out for delivery in my area :) After almost 6 months the long wait is almost over. That said, your videos will be a great help to set it up - will cut down on the initial bugs/frustrations that could arise - Thanks for the insights.
Incredibly helpful. Thanks!!
Awesome video. Thanks for the fix!
Thanks Rmag, good work!
Outstanding stuff! Thank you so much.
Thank you! The throttle itself is nice. But I decided to put mine away for as long as the simulator is not ready for it. It’s a shame that you can’t use it as intended even though it is the recommended hardware. They have to fix the bug with the 10°/1000ft increments.
Great video. Was curious why VS didn't stay active when I tweaked other AP parameters.
Much appreciated for the help.
Great ... thanks a lot from Switzerland 🙂
Thanks! You're my hero!
Thanks for this!
Thank you for this.
Got my bravo yesterday and you are the go to videos. I appreciate them greatly. But I am having a weird problem. On the Tbm my engine will just shut itself off no no reason. I’ve created a new profile and removed all of the default setting for the black toggle switches on the bravo. They are currently unassigned. Any ideas as to why my engine stops. Never did this until I hooked up the bravo.
Once again thank you
I thought I was going crazy or totally didn't get it - THANKS so much!! Giant bug.
Outstanding!
Hi, thank you I've learned a lot from your videos with my new Alpha yoke and Bravo Throttle but I am wondering if you can help with the TBM 930. The problem is with the lights and primarily with the Landing lights. I have followed your instructions on setting the Set Landing Lights etc. but when I engage the taxi lights they come on and when I engage the Landing lights they come on but the taxi lights stay on and I cannot turn off the landing lights??? Also where can I set the Pulse Lights, the Beacon switch does not switch them on and I can't find a Pulse binding. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
I find the Bravo to be more of a HA. I am about tempted to go back to my old saitek throttle but that was twitchy. I do appreciate your help, however. After the latest sim update, I can no longer set my altitude while using the 750 (gns) mod. As it turns out, the working title nxi and gns750 (payware version) are not compatible with each other.
Thanks sir!!
Thank you!!!
Awesome. I knew something was amiss.
Encountered another speed problem. Let’s say you’re in cruise then want to climb. If you hit FLC on the G1000 unit, it auto sets FLC speed to current airspeed for obvious reasons. However, hitting ias on the Bravo will always set your FLC speed to the previous Bravo setting rather than the current plane’s speed. Very annoying issue.
Mag so I followed both tutorials for the AP, my problem is, in flight the aircraft AP won’t engage using the AP button on the throttle quadrant and nothing engages when I set my preferences ie HDG; ALT, IAS they light up on the aircraft AP panel? Please advise
Hey man, I have a problem which looks like it is doing the same thing for you as well. Why does my values for IAS/HDG/ALT go up/down only by 10’s and not 1’s? Seems like this only happens with the honeycomb. My Thrustmaster throttle works fine when connected and when I use my mouse to turn the knobs on screen it goes up and down normally by 1’s. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Thnx again.
Question, I just got a Honeycomb setup, throttle and yoke. Was able to set up some of the switches except for Nav and Taxi lights switches, they will not work. First problem, next is Auto pilot will not work at all. The selection knob and the adjustment knob have no effect. Any ideas on what to look for to try and fix problems.
Very helpful ... I notice that several quirky things are happeneing which I blame on MSFS but not sure. Strobe and Landing lights are not correct for several aircraft - ON is OFF and vice versa. Also I notice that when you do certain things on the Bravo device - the identical selection with a KB seq does not work ?? where is the fault and will it ever get fixed ? Something about Toggle and SET in the assignment menus - and ON PUSH or RELEASE etc that makes a hair pulling contest. MSFS does so many odd things and then corrects itself - no way to know what to do. Thanks again.
See my video here about toggle vs set. kzhead.info/sun/nZ1tkZWfZJ-Pnn0/bejne.html
I noticed the same thing! Nice fix! Now, does anyone have a description of what the key binding names actually mean? The names themselves are too cryptic.
HI ,Thank you for this great tutorial . When I am trying to assign a key combination between the left dial and the right one ( decrease/increase ap ref altitude) it allows me to put the combination but it doesnt let me confirm it. This is the message that i get : You are trying to assign an action to a device that is not selected. However , everything is recognized separately . Have you faced this before ?
This message occurs when you are trying to change a binding on something you have not selected. For example if you selected the keyboard and you are trying to assign an action on the Bravo. You need to make sure the Bravo is clicked on in the control menu before trying to bind the action.
@@RMAG Thank you .For some reason it kept doing no matter what I did. However, after clicking validate it would accept the combination.
Forgot, sim is MS 2020. Main plane flying is the Beech Baron 58 with air manager premium panel and have spad. Will appreciate any help or ideas to fix these problems. Thanks
Bravo Single Engine prop; no Cessna's throttles working to full power. Please help. Thanks
How do you adjust the Course (CRS)? In previous flight sims this was easy. It's always nice to have your approach to an airport with the 'course line' absolutely vertical. Any help on this would be appreciated!
Put the left knob on CRS, turn the right knob. If you are in a glass cockpit you may need to change the CDI from GPS to VOR.
Just got this throttle quadrant. The bad key bind has been removed already (presumably from a past update) but my VS bug still doesn't work properly. ALT IAS and HDG all work properly and I have compared all the key binds, VS matches the others. Anyone have any advice?
So, if I am understanding you correctly: The VS and IAS modes have no need to be on the dial on the left; correct? Like the real airplane you should only use the VS/IAS buttons on the right? It makes sense that by pressing the VS/IAS buttons, IRL, you are telling the plane, with two different actions that you want to raise/lower the plane.
No. The left knob selects what the right knob will adjust when your turn the right knob. The buttons are to actually activate the mode.
Ahhh! Got it! Thanks.
Dumb question because of lack of experience - why wouldn't the right knob default to adjust whatever mode you are in vs having to turn the left knob to tell it which to adjust? Is it because in real life, you might be on one mode but want to adjust what will happen in the other mode ahead of time, via this method?
@@MattUNI2005 you answered your own question. You need to be able to adjust modes you are no in currently to prepare for what comes next.
Anyone having issues with the B78X AP? When I hit IAS on the Honeycomb, it seems to short out the FLCH on the Boeing. It won't work again for the rest of the flight, even if I press FLCH using the mouse. Need to try it in the B748, now that I'm thinking about it, but definitely an issue in the Dreamliner.
I set up my Bravo quadrant yesterday, but didn't have time to properly test it and I did NOT notice this bug (does not mean it's not there). As of today (August 2021), are you aware if it was fixed recently by default ?
I just got mine and the issue doesn't seem to be there anymore so probably fixed.
ok this works for flight Sim 3030 would it be the same for X Plane 11?
Hello! I don’t know if this is happening to any of you, but I have a problem when playing the landing challenges with my honeycomb, I hace all the buttons as if it was everything in the airplane on, and when I enter the challenge everything is off, the engine, avionics so I need to turn on everything and it is very stressful to that in every attempt. If any one can help I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.
have only one question: the trimwheel on de bravo throttle, is this wheel binded to anything? When I move the trimwheel nothing happened.
Very slight trim adjustment. Since the last patch that fixed the 10° bug the trim wheel has been very desensitized.
So the left knob is useless? sorry for stupid questions, I'm not a pilot but beginner flight sim enthusiast looking to buy that honeycomb yoke and throttle for my VR setup.
The left knob is used to select what the right knob changes.
How can I adjust the increments of HDG to 1 degree in stead of 10 degrees. Same for ALT. Now it is incrementing per 1000ft in stead of 100ft.
This bug was fixed months ago, did they break it again?
I actually found what’s causing my engine issue. Whenever I’m in the tbm and I hit the escape key to make adjustments and then go back to my flight my engine stops and has to be restarted. I tested it several times and each time my engine stopped. Don’t know if it’s a bravo issue or an issue related to the last update.
The problem is likely because your profile has a mixture lever. This is not compatible with the TBM. See this video I just posted: kzhead.info/sun/mLmnmLOnqX2Je3A/bejne.html
@@RMAG interesting. I’ll have to check on that because I also experienced that issue. Sounds like an easy fix if this is the case.
Hi. I have another bug with the Honeycomb Bravo I can’t seem to fix. This is with p3dv4.5. The trim wheel turns off the autopilot. There is nothing mapped that to have this happen. Hope you have an idea how to correct this. I’ve looked everywhere on the internet without a solution. Thanks.
No clue. I only have MSFS.
Could you do a tutorial on how to fix- incremental switches on Altitude and heading in (100’s and 10’s) on the bravo . Thanks
No I can’t. It’s well known bug in MSFS. It has to be fixed by Asobo. Alternatively you can use a third party program to do the keybinds, or you can unbind all your switches including the Alpha yoke. Or just wait for them to fix it. I use the knobs for macro changes and then the virtual knobs in the sim for the micro changes.
Ok- thanks . I saw few videos on third party key binding software. Did try V-Joy & Gremlin joystick as well as RS Mapper still couldn’t get it to work . Thank you. Your tutorials are amazing and very helpful.
Hey guys, I can’t get my IAS/HDG/ALT values to go by 1’s even by using the virtual knobs on screen when Honeycomb throttle is connected. It only goes up and down by values of 10. Am I missing something? Thnx
Two years later, perhaps honey comb fixed that problem..
That does not fix mine. Has the update that came after the first changed anything here? After making the change you suggested, my VS button no longer works.
My VS button was set to "Toggle autopilot localizer hold". Changed it to "toggle autopilot VS hold". Hmmmmm, wonder if someone at Asobo changed this?
When i do this it just kills the sim an unable to delete the Select VSI BUG it displays on button 20, have to restored the whole sim
this seems to be fixed. just got a bravo and i didnt have that keybind
Thanks was asking same just got mine last week so assume don’t need to do thx
Just bought the bravo and 7 months later the bad key bind is still there. And now there is no download for the annunciator lights as Honeycomb says it's default in MSFS, which at the moment it is not unless I missed something.
Here is the link from their website to the software for the lights: freeware.aerosoft.com/forum/downloads/AS_HONEYCOMB_FSX-FSXSE-V2.zip To navigate to it manually, scroll to,the bottom of their webpage flyhoneycomb.com, click downloads, under Microsoft Flight Simulator click, download now.
@@RMAG Thanks for that. I had tried that in google chrome and none of the download links for any of the systems worked, but I do have an ad blocker. So I tried microsoft edge (so I didn't have to try long winded way of downloading another browser), which I dislike with a passion and it downloaded first time. Thanks again for reply, definitely helped me to work out that chrome with ad blocker was being a $^%#$
Where can I bind the CRS on the autopilot? All the others are bind except the CRS.
Without looking I am pretty sure it’s “Set OBS”
@@RMAG I have it set on VOR OBS and it working fine.
@@bertvandam1350 "VOR OBS" that's it!
Ayuda! no se me encienden los leds
Aren't those buttons supposed to light up when selected?
I shot this video before that feature was added
Bb
It looks like this bug is fixed?
Idk. I made this video in 2020. It’s possible.
