I have taken a deep dive into this guy in the last 48 hours. I have always been aware of the show, but never watched it and never really knew what it was about...but all I can say is...the guy is a better man than me....I'm quite fascinated with the desire to just "be out there", but don't think I would ever have the "guts" to actually try it for even a day...and then you realize from the Garden of Eden until like 1901 this is how everyone had to survive...and the utter nonchalance in the way he talks about this life is just freaking amazing to me...like, "Yeah I was stalked by a pack of 20 timberwolves this one time...and uh...they were all just kinda watching me and salivating from about 50 yards away from my cabin, so I had to shoot like 3 of them otherwise they'd just think I'm an easy meal...what can I say it worked out." 9:20 was the kill shot
Joe is still dreaming of eating a wolf. "How did you cook the wolf?" "I boiled it and made a pulled-wolf sandwich"
Best guest of all time, Joe and he have common interests, and he's an amazing person. So relaxed, his ego stat is at zero.
Joe:"so you boil it with onions and potatoes and make a soup???" Glenn: surprised pikachu face*

you’re flying over white-capped mountains in a blizzard, suddenly there’s a loud bang and the pilot says you’re going down. you awaken, buckled to your seat in a mangled section of fuselage. you look for any sign of life, but none, nothing. you call out in hope but the only sound is the howling wind. suddenly you notice a lone dark-haired man holding a hunting rifle standing and watching you in silence. ‘ya ever eat weasel before boy’?
Expand that into a short story or novel and I'll read the unholy hell out of it.
False Flag Haha same was just about to comment that.
@False Flag Lmao Exactly what I was thinking. I fricken love that book. 20+ years after reading it, it still sticks with me.

I used to love this guy on the show. When I'm at my shit job or stuck in traffic, I think about Glenn walking up that mountain with his gun going hunting and I realize that is freedom he is truly a free man
Truth. Freedom requires fearlessness above all.
He was my favorite.
yep, freedom... Aint none of us free, except him, that's for sure
This guy is interesting and probably one of the toughest person I’ve ever heard speak. He is really dam interesting
@bronchoped1 I laughed my ass of when she wrecked her shit, she was so annoying.
they are both in somewhat different elements. It is unfair to say one is tougher then the other because Sue is an absolute Bad@sssss, Glen is full on surviving though. They are both survivalists true and true. respect to both of them. I one day would potentially like to live like this.. it is an interesting life yet freeing
If you want more. Look at inuit they lived like that for many generations and they eat the stomach right when caught without boiling!
Been a minute since I've watched Joe glad I'm back
Aydin Gowens well you missed a lot since lol
Good podcast to choose, dudes metal
@Kill me please & thank you. agreed
Joe's head was blown away the whole podcast
I have rewatched all the clips of Glenn on the podcast almost 50 times and watched the full podcast 5 times this week really enjoy hearing someone talk about primative things

How did Glenn end up being Glenn? What circumstances made him?
Straight beastmode when you eat caribou stomach content.
It's a blessing that he was willing to give up living as close to the land as he was in order to share his knowledge with others. Thank you Glenn.
Easily, one of the best guests Joe has ever had! Thanks Joe!
What makes this guy so chilling is he shares scary stories and laugh while Joe look at him in disbelief for all what he did while ALONE in ALASKA
Joe looking like that one bouncer that won't let your drunk friend into the club
Joe does have a bouncer vibe. Even the way he talks
This dude would have passed fear factor no problems
RT THE BRAND I don’t know man! Tyrone Biggums would’ve given him a run for his money
Seems like the main question is: Did you eat it? Reply: yeah I was low on food.
If I was out in the wilderness with this guy, I'd be afraid he'd eat me. Not even in a starvation situation. Just out of curiosity he'd probably fry me up with some pickled wolf tongue and pine needle tea.

I absolutely love this interview. I think I've watched the full thing 3 times and it's in my top 5 JREs
Glenn's stomach bacteria needs to be researched; he could be one of those people capable of living past 130 (assuming no accidents/cancers).
Red meat is associated with colon cancer so I don't think so

I have taken a deep dive into this guy in the last 48 hours. I have always been aware of the show, but never watched it and never really knew what it was about...but all I can say is...the guy is a better man than me....I'm quite fascinated with the desire to just "be out there", but don't think I would ever have the "guts" to actually try it for even a day...and then you realize from the Garden of Eden until like 1901 this is how everyone had to survive...and the utter nonchalance in the way he talks about this life is just freaking amazing to me...like, "Yeah I was stalked by a pack of 20 timberwolves this one time...and uh...they were all just kinda watching me and salivating from about 50 yards away from my cabin, so I had to shoot like 3 of them otherwise they'd just think I'm an easy meal...what can I say it worked out." Wow
My stomach content contains a sausage egg cheese from McDonald's
Thank you for ruining my appetite for the rest of the day
I got beans and rice with jalapenos in my storage unit...stomach.
Joe definitely has respect for Glenn, no interrupting just listening and taking notes
Bad ass survival dude: You really get into this state of consciousness, it’s a beautiful thing. Joe: PICKLED STOMACH CONTENTS
Glenn Villeneuve prefers a lightly caribou-digested lichen salad to wolf meat.
Cerebral Cortex: Jesus Christ that's disgusting. That lizard part of my brain responsible for keeping me alive in the worst possible situations: Ima file that shit away for later just in case
I keep coming back to this episode and the clips from it. I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe it’s because Glen reminds me of my dad who passed away this year. Or maybe it’s just that his personal story is just so interesting to me.
He’s calming voice
Imagine this guy having a discussion with Hannibal Lector about food they eat.
This is probably my favorite podcast, I keep coming back and back to this. Anyone have any other links to mountain men on the JRE?
Thank you Glenn for suggesting watching the documentary about the native tribes. Watched all of them, amazing.
This dude is a bad ass...he was one of my favorites on the show...
Damn. He’s eaten it all.... boy he’s amazing and inspiration to survival. 👍🏼👍🏼
Best guest. I regularly rewatch this guy.
He truly needs his own show. I enjoyed watching him and a few others on there. Its been along time and i can't remember all the names but Id love to even try it.

You can tell Joe is really listening to his stories by the length of his silence… Great storyteller.
As someone who grew up hunting and outdoors, this is my favorite Joe rogan podcast.
“Jamie pull up that video of the grizzly pickling meat in a caribou’s stomach.”
Ah, this all makes sense now. Caribou are known to eat hallucinogenic mushrooms. Sort of surprised Joe did not catch that. Caribou tenderloin fermented in hallucinogenic mushrooms sounds great!
That’s reindeer that eat the mushroom and ppl drink it’s piss, otherwise it toxic to us.

Possibly the most hardcore guy that has ever been on the show.
When I buy store bought meat, I use a little pure salt to dry it out and to start a crust of fermentation on the outside surface. The inside sometimes takes on the color reminiscent of prosciutto and it is delicious and addicting.
It’s the guy from that show who lives in Alaska, I think, ya that’s him
I figured that too....he's hard core on that show
