I firmly believe that Gram has a sociopathic disorder, and also a parental personality disorder when it comes to music teaching. I mean... His Father screwed him up so much that even he knows that he can't express himself well and everyone tries to bear that or has gotten used to it so as not to bother Glam out of affection... But the last thing is something that he totally inherited from his Father and can't control how his attitude. Although he loves his children and shows a certain degree of control over his children's life and his old man's life as well, he has that side of his father that he does not control...

I can't help but feel bad for Lydia in a way. They were almost raised to hate each other, to constantly compete for attention. Yes, Lydia was clearly the favorite, but she was also under a lot of pressure from their parents. Look at her face when Glam is walking away. She felt terrible, probably feeling helpless, ashamed that she couldn't do more to keep his secret. Afterwards, she was probably taught not to think about it or to sneer at Glam and him snubbing their family, as judged by her reactions at Gustav's funeral. Yet, in that moment, watching her brother walk away from their family, out into the streets with nothing but his clothes (and maybe his violin, I don't remember), she truly did care about him deep down.

I just watched that episode. That’s exactly what I was thinking about her. I doubt their “father” started off by smacking around his favorite (and a girl, who he views as less than and likely weaker.) In my opinion, the fact he beat her meant she kept up the lie through yelling, grilling, insulting until the physical abuse started. She tried... 😔 And when she whimpered his name, my heart broke. I’m so happy for Glam though. ❤️ He found his perfect woman, and they have two awesome kids. He deserves that happiness. He chose family... his own.

It looks like Lydia retreated back into that mindset of "I'm the superior sibling", or at least tries to convince herself of that.

Man, his dad fucked him up so bad that he sadly projected onto his kids a little bit. Not nearly as bad as his father though.
I firmly believe that Gram has a sociopathic disorder, and also a parental personality disorder when it comes to music teaching. I mean... His Father screwed him up so much that even he knows that he can't express himself well and everyone tries to bear that or has gotten used to it so as not to bother Glam out of affection... But the last thing is something that he totally inherited from his Father and can't control how his attitude. Although he loves his children and shows a certain degree of control over his children's life and his old man's life as well, he has that side of his father that he does not control...

I can't help but feel bad for Lydia in a way. They were almost raised to hate each other, to constantly compete for attention. Yes, Lydia was clearly the favorite, but she was also under a lot of pressure from their parents. Look at her face when Glam is walking away. She felt terrible, probably feeling helpless, ashamed that she couldn't do more to keep his secret. Afterwards, she was probably taught not to think about it or to sneer at Glam and him snubbing their family, as judged by her reactions at Gustav's funeral. Yet, in that moment, watching her brother walk away from their family, out into the streets with nothing but his clothes (and maybe his violin, I don't remember), she truly did care about him deep down.
I just watched that episode. That’s exactly what I was thinking about her. I doubt their “father” started off by smacking around his favorite (and a girl, who he views as less than and likely weaker.) In my opinion, the fact he beat her meant she kept up the lie through yelling, grilling, insulting until the physical abuse started. She tried... 😔 And when she whimpered his name, my heart broke. I’m so happy for Glam though. ❤️ He found his perfect woman, and they have two awesome kids. He deserves that happiness. He chose family... his own.

@@nqk_0662 It's hard to say. We see Lydia later, having grown up and the two attending Gustav's will and testament reading, but it's unclear what happened after Glam left. It looks like Lydia retreated back into that mindset of "I'm the superior sibling", or at least tries to convince herself of that.
