To catch the grinding debris and prevent damage y to o my lathe I use squares of old carpet with a layer of grease spread on it. It catches and keeps everything with no bouncing off. Super cheap and super effective!
You have one heck of a precise lathe! You can also use dry plumbers silicone to clean diamond wheel or sandpaper.
I've used an old rubber shoe before, both are excellent

The lathe center can also be put into the work spindle and overturned with a turning knife with carbide. If you have a movable lathe center, you only need to tape the rotating part.

Tak to świetna metoda . Ja tak równałem kiełki obrotowe już w 1977 roku , tylko że szlifierkach wałkówkach , tak wyrównany kiełek jest sto procentowym zamiennikiem kiełka stałego . Na pasek napędowy naciąłem sobie pół okrągły rowek na kiełku . Ale to wszystko jak kto może , system ten sam . Koledzy temu nie wierzyli , ale jak pokazałem im na czujniku odczyt , który był tak samo na zero , to miny im posmutniały . Tak samo co więksi sceptycy przestali się śmiać . Natomiast to , czy kąt 60 stopni , na maszynie 30 , czy nieznaczna odchyłka kąta , to dla techniki już bez większego znaczenia . Zupełnie już o tym zapomniałem , ale wspomnienia wróciły momentalnie . Natomiast sposób montażu sprytny , przyznaję . Najważniejszy i tak sam system szlifowania . Pozdrawiam .

ビト砥石をご使用の場合、乾湿両用以外では水や油等で濡らさない方が長持ちします。濡らしてしまうと劣化を早めてしまいますので。 レジ砥石の場合は濡らしてご使用下さい。 又、ドレッサーをご使用の場合、GC F180砥粒と併用致しますと長持ちし易くなります。

Thank you for watching. Happy new year. I have only used chucks made by Kitagawa, Kobayashi and China, so I cannot make a professional comparison with other companies. Chucks made by Kitagawa and Kobayashi have no problem in normal use. No fatal problems occurred even after long-term use. Kitagawa's general size chuck body is not made of cast iron, and the maximum allowable rotation speed is about 50% higher than that of cast iron, making it highly durable. The price is also high.

Nicely done! I'd try to use a CBN wheel rather than diamond. Diamond has an affinity for steel and will wear faster. But in this case you got away with it.
Funny thing is that You can get away with using cheap diamond wheels on tool steel quite well. Just need to redress them more often, that is use something to abrade binder to expose new grains. I think it works best at fairly low rpm:s. CBN is of course better but expensive.

Grinding cut was not passed till last end. That's why dial gauge was showing higher reading at the last same thing I do with my surface grinders for many of my item's I make for my tool room....

Why do much work, just disassemble the live center and grind the heart, which is almost identical to dead center. Place dead center in check, spin at 1000 rpm a d grind with a tool post grinder.
You have a valid point, if the bearings are at all worn in the live centre then the finish and the accuracy will be compromised. Personally i thought that the final ground finish should have been a bit better but the dial indicator gauge at least showed it to be running true.

why put a nylon washer ?
Thank you for watching. The wheel is made of aluminum, so if you tighten the nut directly, the surface will be rough. Also, I think that MC nylon can apply surface pressure more evenly between the arbor and the wheel than using iron washers.
It’s ok to use diamond wheel on high speed steel live center? I thought diamond should only be used on carbide?
Thank you for watching. CBN was expensive so I used very cheap diamond wheels made in China. On Amazon Japan, #150 was $11 and #1000 was $20. The thermochemical reaction in which diamond diffuses into iron does not occur below 700°C. The spindle of this lathe was 275 revolutions per minute, and the amount of grinding was less than 0.01 mm, so the diffusion of the diamond was not felt.

ご視聴いただきありがとうございます。 このダイヤルゲージは1目盛りあたり1µm（0.001mm）なので0.004mmのズレが生じてしまいました。 これは目詰まりと直径を考慮せずに自動送りで仕上げたため、太い部分の研削が浅くなってしまったためです。 おっしゃるように傾きで調整するか、微細な仕上げ研削を繰り返せばよりズレの少ない仕上がりになると思います。

Шляпа какая-то. Что конус в патрон нельзя было зажать и проточить? Опосля полирнуть.
Данный метод восстановления конуса подвижного центра самый точный, так как несоосность конусной поверхности с осью вращения обусловлена классом точности подшипников, в коих вращается конус центра!!!
