  • I watched Max and Leclerc race in F3, and a lot of people thought Leclerc was better. What I saw in Max was a man that was able to get the most from an inferior car and outdrive most others. Ever since he won the first championship he has increased his skill level beyond any other driver. The Mercedes bunch has tried to intimidate him pushing for rules changes they think will put them on top again. When the hybrid era started Mercedes already the engine built and held a patent on certain parts that gave them all their years of Hamilton dominating. This new era of all teams having identical equipment has really shown the magic of Red Bull and the driving ability and perfection of Max's skill. Hopefully they keep Newey and Max long enough to shatter all records.

As much as people love to hate Checo and fantasize about their favorite driver taking the heat to Verstappen in the same machinery, it begs the question: which drivers would be able to take that much pressure and come out on top? That's why Hamilton and Alonso are mentioned, because Hamilton has already taken the fight to him and Alonso is very much capable too. It's like saying Verstappen couldn't take the fight to Hamilton before the 2021 season started, he never had a car to compete for a title for a full season long, but immediately brought the heat when he did get one. Similarly, if the W15, AMR24 (or 2025 Ferrari for that matter) turn out to be capable of matching the RB20 until the last race, Hamilton and Alonso would immediately be contenders until Abu Dhabi.

    • It absolutely is boring if there is no title fight. Can you guys stop pretending that Max beating Perez is a big deal? He's the #1 driver and Perez has beaten him only a handful of times in all seasons combined. But can't really blame you because there is nothing else in that season to talk about.

    • People who think it's boring need to stop watching if they only care about the title fight and wins. Midfield battles have been crazy since 2022 and rarely is a car lapped without some shenanigans. The new regs were aimed at improving raceability and they succeeded, it's just that one team managed to get the regs right while others fumbled. If that didn't happen, everyone would have been lauding those changes

    • Actually not. Since most of the Hamilton fans recognize Max as the racing menace he is. Only a few obnoxious ones make a lot of noise.
