    • Opiates are physically additive. Alcohol is physically addictive. SSRIs, antipsychotics benzodiazepines, barbiturates, and hypnotics/z-drugs are also physically addictive. You can die from acute withdrawal if you've physically dependent on alcohol, barbs, benzos … Amphetamines aren't addictive physically. You don't get dope sick from missing a dose of amphetamines. The same for methamphetamine. In fact, they are the same drug. They both break down to the same metabolites, and the physiological effects are nearly the same.

    • averat84 they are taking the drugs and addicted to them to escape reality. The above comment is accurate, your comment is only a detail or fact that supports the above comment. People don’t take drugs because they are happy and content with their life, they take them because they want to feel better and they keep taking them because it’s the only thing that makes them feel better and they keep taking them when it doesn’t make them feel better anymore because they are biologically addicted and detoxing from the drug would cause great distress in the persons reality so of course they don’t give up the drug because the discomfort of the reality of living without it becomes too painful to face so they die with the addiction. It is all escaping reality. The reality is overcoming addiction is uncomfortable and most people can’t face that discomfort

I have seen her live and have met her in person (autographing my book). She's a caring person and she resonates with me. This Tedx Talk doesn't cover her research on menopause, but I have followed her advice since I was 35 or 36 and I'm all the more healthy for it. • +Nikki Caswell What-is has no bearing on what is coming unless you are continually regurgitating the story of what is. By thinking and speaking more of how you really want your life to be, you allow what you are currently living to be the jumping-off place for so much more. But if you speak predominantly of what-is, then you still jump off -but you jump off into more of the same. When you reach for the thought that feels better, the Universe is now responding differently to you because of that effort. And so, the things that follow you get better and better, too. So it gets easier to reach for the thought that feels better, because you are on ever-increasing, improving platforms that feel better.

  • Healthy fixes fills those voids. I agree with that quote. But to make sure someone like myself wants to continue feeling good when my mind gets agitated and the feeling of cold sludge next to my brain. I'm fully aware that nutrition and exercise play a huge role in maintaining a positive mental attitude and staying fit. But even when I'm staying healthy mentally and physically there's this chemical imbalance that railroads me into oblivion, literally knocks me off track again. I've researched what i can do to overcome this helpless feeling to overcome adversity but in order for me to absolutely stay on track I need that ineffective, paralytic feeling or genetic imbalance to be subtracted from within me and replaced with pure unadulterated willpower. I really try and psychologically pretend I'm 100% solid, but all of sudden I'm interrupted by a cacophony of intense pressure pulling me down when I'm full aware of knowing I need to keep moving and wanting to feel good with my day.

On the other hand, drug addiction comes with more acute and severe consequences, plus drugs don't really function as nourishment, so that's probably why the urgency to wean people off drugs makes more sense.

  • I agree the doctor did give a good performance However it lent itself to the information well. she did a wonderful job explaining in simple terms the connections. there is a lot more to understand to be complete. However this is a good start to the journey. I hope all are able to see the connections and that a little discomfort in overcoming your habits explodes into to life-giving energy from the health benefits. The more connections you make the healthier you become mind body and spirit.

  • Filling the void with false fixes A life of false fixes is what addiction is. Epigenetics - every single thought you have and everything in your environment changes gene expression and it changes your destiny. You write your own life sentence. Be methylated. Physical activity, meditation, eating greens gives you methyl. Mind mouth and muscle The real wealth is health

    • +ASDF123000 What-is has no bearing on what is coming unless you are continually regurgitating the story of what is.

    • We need to NOT get caught up in defining our reality by external things we own or have . We need to become more prescient in the NOW moment of life to lose our self's in creativity for true living in the right now moment . That is true live living and true consciousness of all creative living . Where we loose our self's and there is no time ,space or thought , just the flow of life TRUE LIFE which is timeless .

    • yeah that was an oversimplification - male and female brains are virtually identical - it's mostly social roles that define the differences men can be just as complicated and emotional, it's just not always that desirable in society

    • @@PEACESEATINGDISORDERVLOG And you don't find that to be sexist? Just because your dad may come home and relax on a chair drinking his beer while watching the game doesn't mean the typical man does. Just like my brothers wife who has 50 pairs of shoes doesn't personify a typical women. I know plenty of men who have more shoes than their wife.

THe fact that we don't know how to or even what to do is missed sometimes by the treatment programs. They teach us to stop. Now we need to learn life skills. THank you for this video!
