I couldn't tell if I was dealing with three yearlings or a mother and two yearlings. Three yearlings without a mother would be rare at that age - they would be 14-15 months old - but there might be an explanation. I'd have to see more of them to confirm. [Edit. Upon review I think it's more likely a mother and two yearlings.]
Regardless, I stayed inside as they were pretty skittish, as witnessed by how quickly the straggler vamoosed outta Dodge.
Let's hope they come back soon. We need more troublemakers.

It made me so mad to see a video of people pulling baby black bear cubs from trees to take pictures with and then the people weren't even charged for animal endangerment. Thank you for taking care of the nature creatures in your area Patrick.
Thank you. The Wildlife Resources Commission might still take action. Plucking bear cubs out of trees clearly endangers them. I think the revised City Ordinance has words to that effect - *"Increased potential for death or injury to the bears."* We'll see. Thanks again!
That really angered me...that poor mama was probably frantically searching for her baby that was needlessly separated from its mama and hurt in the process

That one bear is probably one of Ruby's understudies. Tried to do the post dance. Snift up by the fan, had a lot of the same moves. These bears have been networking. That brings the bear count to 4. Thanks for the video Patrick.

I liked the little slide down to the porch... brought back some memories of Ruby. That last one really seemed to know to look for the bird feeder and sniff for it. Maybe visited as a baby? As they seem to be familiar with where the Sunflower Seeds Feeder is located, we can assume they've already been there with their Mum. But not very frequently, since there's a certain distrust towards Patrick. If they're 1 year old, they'd be the babies of a mother who had 3 or more babies last year and who didn't visit Patrick very often. I think about Simone's babies 🐻🐾🐾🐾 Nice Jazz music accompaniment 🎺🎷
