Yeah, can I have this lady take care of me? Maru has everything provided and lots of extra luxury provisions along the way. It does seem like a one-way relationship, though. She does everything for him, and what does he give her in return? Well, maybe some pleasure in caring for a needy little animal and some entertainment in watching the little guy doing his thing.

Absolutely! Just like human babies, animals also don't choose to be born nor which family they'll end up with. They bring so much joy, love and humour, and it is an honour to care for them. Not enough people think seriously enough before committing to having them. ❤

I had my daughters hamster ride inside my tank top as I did morning chores and she would ultimately fall asleep. She was my sweet fluffy and I cried for 3 days straight when she died...she, as all hamsters, didn't have a long life but she did have a full life❤

This has to be the cutest video I've seen in a very, very long time. I smiled all the through it. She is an angel in human form treating her best boy so well. The whole blanket thing was sweet but when she whipped out his bed...I thought I felt a tear in my left eye. Then she tops that with a teeny tiny teddy bear! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like this. The man is actually living the good life. And she will be his best friend for his entire life. I loved this.
I have never seen a pet rodent pampered to this extreme. I love that along with the cuteness (which is clearly to please your viewers and yourself), you have put so much thought into what is best for the gerbil (gerbil chooses the blanket, chef-level nutritious meals, etc.).
These little critters appreciate the good life as much as we do...My guinea pigs always ❤️ going places in their pet stroller whether it's at the local park or at the mall among other places😄.

He’s adorable 🥰 I’ve actually never seen a gerbil that looks like that, it looks like a hamster gerbil crossbreed, it’s amazing how calm he is. His tail is so chubby 😅
GERBSTER
It is a so called Fat-Tailed gerbil. They use their tails to store fat in just like camels use their humbs. This specimen actually has a rather slim tail, indicating he isn't that old yet. Fat tailed gerbils are very funny pets. They tend to live a bit longer than the more commonly seen Mongolian Gerbils and are smaller, with very, very soft and fluffy coats. In contrast to Mongolian Gerbils, they are solitary animals and are more nocturnal as well. Fair warning...they are on the black list in some countries. Meaning you can't own them as a pet without a permit.

I didn't know gerbils needed so much care. She's really a great caretaker.
They don't. And she should not lay him on his back. She probably means well, but a Gerbil is not a human baby. A prey animal is very vulnerable on its back. Maybe he can't even get up. Just because he eventually "falls asleep" doesn't mean he's doing well. It could also be stress exhaustion. My gerbils gave themselves a good brushing before going to sleep. This one actually looks greasy and unkempt, despite the sand baths. And something has gone seriously wrong with the tail.
This girl is A-mazing!!! What a beautiful story to end the day… I’ll be rewatching for pick me ups in the future. I’m glad there’s people out there that just get it with the small pets!!

This is NOT as cute as it seems. Gerbils live in groups of between two and 17 in the wild. She is keeping him solitary, so he is always alone. If he likes sand baths and they are part of his species' needs, shouldn't the enclosed sand be in his cage? It might seem cute for her to put him in there manually, but it should be at his disposal at all times. Also, gerbils are burrowing animals. Wild gerbils build their own homes by digging 3m long tunnels underground, with lots of entries and chambers. How does his cage meet those needs in any way?

That is very unusual for a gerbil because they are nocturnal and are manic at night and sleep in the day. Not easy pets for most people. This little fella is one in a million.

I had one and was not informed at the time. I was immature despite being a teenager. I hadn't internet back then. But I should have searched for documentation. Ashamed of the way I treated him or her (I never even knew that). I gave the gerbil such a sad life. He or she was terrorized when not in his enclosure. So, left it there bringing the occasional toy. I think I noticed about giving him or her papers to shred. Edit: mongolian sadly. The shop owner told me she would live one year. The cage was too small. I m not sure how I have been advised on that. It was too long ago. She ended up living four years but not four intellectually rewarding years. I got karma.

Gerbil acts like old folks (or vice versa) and having naps throughout the day (and it appears its my nap time as well .... zzzzz).
