Razer DeathAdder V2 X Review, THE BEST DEATHADDER YET!
Reviewing the new wireless gaming mouse from Razer, the Razer Deathadder V2 X.
How does it compare to previous version of the deathadder, the V2, V2 Pro, and the Elite. Is it worth the upgrade or a new purchase?

BTW if anyone is curious, yes you can use synaps with this mouse, and settings save to the mouse, synaps doesn’t have to be opened.
ah finally, the TRUE project mcfly.
Thanks for the review! Do the bindings/settings work over Bluetooth and the dongle, or just the dongle? I ended up returning a Steelseries Rival 3 because, while the mouse is awesome, any remapping you do only works over the dongle. I’m a student, and because I don’t have a ton of ports on my laptop I’d rather only use the dongle while gaming, but I’d still like to remap some of the buttons to allow for horizontal scrolling and maybe a few productivity macros. Again, appreciate the review!
@@djberry7673 yes, all the Razer mouses save settings on them, just lighting and macro don't save onboard, everything else is on the mouse, so doesn't matter if you use it with BT or 2.4GHz dongle
@@komi1834 awesome, thank you!
wich one would u recommend if the deathadder v2 pro was 75 bucks and the x hyperspeed was 69 bucks?
Been running one of these for about 8 weeks, really happy with this mouse. Side buttons are ideally placed for rocking either my thumb joint for the rear button, or thumb tip for the front one. DPI buttons aren't obtrusive for me, i'll switch between second and third-highest depending on what i'm doing. I switch between a windows machine for gaming and a mac for work, so being able to use the dongle on my PC and effectively switch between mac and PC has been great. This mouse isn't heavy for me - my old one was heavier; but you *do* notice the weight difference between using AA and AAA batteries. Despite this, i never had any problem lifting the mouse off the mat, despite the removal of the rubberised piece under the side buttons. Got a bunch of Eneloops for remotes/game controllers/etc, so i'm never short of batteries. In short, I'm a fan. Dunno where I can source replacement feet from, I'm probably gonna want to refresh them after a while.
I bought this mouse this past weekend and it has been an absolute gem of a find. I owned quite a few mouse and my favorite right now is the Viper mini but if I feel like change things up a bit, I go for this version of the DA. Thank you Techne for another great video!
still doing good?
I loved the DeathAdder V2 Pro so much that, due to The Techne's review of the Model D Wireless, I picked one of those up as well. You're the best, Techne!
I appreciate the review. Addressed all the points I wanted to know about. Thanks!
This is the only Review that gave me clear idea about the difference in every deathadder ...Thanks man .. I love your Content... literally no bs in your videos unlike others ....
I got a v2 pro months back and if this mouse is on par then Razer hit a home run. The DA shape is sooooo nice and well thought out and at this weight they do feel like featherlight when holding them with your full palm. I don't have that dragging issue on mine tho.. And i use the two top center buttons for other actions so I'm not tempted on the one but it's good to know if something happens to my current DA that I can pick one of these up. I'll be curious to see what the next flagship Razer mice will have as it's getting really hard to justify their prices compared to their own budget/mid priced lineup... They have been killing it lately
Great review, to the point and we'll summarized. Using the death adder V2 wired one. And honestly the price point for this is convincing me to upgrade.
amazing review! You really never disappoint with these videos especially love it when you review products Im looking into. Keep up the amazing work!
Been waiting for this one! Good stuff as always.
A couple of weeks ago, I bought the MSI GM41 Wireless. For only $ 65 on sale, and I think at that price it has no competition for everything the packaging offers. It only weighs 74g and the battery can last a week quietly. It would be great if you analyzed it on your channel, greetings!
aye so you did do the review of it, this is just what i needed because i use the wired v2
I was waiting for this for DAYS!! Great review as always man Definitely the best DA currently But still unsure about those two bottoms
glad they brought back the old mamba 2012 design, one of the best ergos i ever used
2012 used same design as original 2009 mamba 3.5g, they released new wireless mamba every 3 years since then, was curious why we didn't get one in 2021 yet and this is what we get, going back to basics
so mamba 2012 was basically a wireless deathadder and now the DA v2 x is the old mamba 2012?
@@critiqalerror 2009 and 2012(same as 2009 with better sensor) mambas were basically wireless deathadder with 2 extra buttons on LMB, 2015 changed the shape made it for claw grip instead of palm grip
@@komi1834 Very cool. Im excited to finally get a wireless Deathadder at a budget cost.
Great video!!! Ive not used a DA since 2013 model (as i kinda like a smaller or more button mouse after my DA days) but now it must be wireless! This DA msy bring me back. I just wish they made it a tad smaller (like between this one and the mini)
I love alot of Razer products, but with that being said its so refreshing to watch reviews that are honest and not so ridiculously biased in favor of any and everything they put out. Love the reviews!
Enjoyable review Techne 🥰👍 the Orochi V2 I got a few months back (here in Australia on an EBay Razer Store $54USD including local taxes 🤯🤯) is by far the best out of the fewRzaer mice I’ve tried in the past. I prefer lighter and smaller mice despite having medium/large sized hands. The Orochi is my go to mouse! The Deathadder I never liked and found uncomfortable for my grip type. But like many games recently, products are going through their revision / revived / rebooted version by Razer and few other brands.
Orochi is a great mouse
I’ve been trying to catch up on all of your videos and dropping likes on them. I try to watch them same day. But work has been crazy recently and being mandated to 16 hours every other day makes it hard to do so. But anyways great video as always and I hope you are doing well Techne.
thank you so much for the support, even with the daily life grind
I love your reviews . Very on point with all your reviews ! You’re the man!
thank you so much man!
Dang Technie it's been a hot minute man! I haven't been able to watch your channel as much because of school. I became a Freshman this year and I gotta say man from 2 years ago to now it's awesome to see your improvement. You still got your style, and i'm happy to see your doing well man! Anyways good luck in the future I'd just thought i'd say hi!
Hey man, thank you so much for swinging by!
I wonder if this one would be better suited for office work than my good "old" DeathAdder V2 Pro. I feel that I always need to charge my V2 Pro it over the weekend in order to get a full week out of it. I'm still having some kind of fear concerning Razer's Omron switches for they mouse clicks compared to the optical ones in the V2 Pro...
I'm currently using viper mini and planning to upgrade which should I choose Orochi v2 or this Deathadder v2 X hyperspeed?
Love ur job, keep it up 🔥 the product is lovely too
For anyone who used the mamba 2012 back in the day, this is basically the same mouse with a better sensor. Must buy for me.
Finally someone who too recognised the DAV2X as a clone of the Mamba 2012. Bought the Deahtadder V2 X earlier today to honour my favourite mouse from back in the day.
This mouse or the model D wireless techne? Which one do seem to enjoy or appreciate more?
Man this is looks so good, I have a G305 just now and it's a solid mouse but it doesn't fill my big ping-pong paddle hands. Cheers for the review
Hey The Techne! I was on Best Buy the other day and I saw this new hyperx headset and it’s called the hyperx cloud core wireless and it’s based off another headset and I want to get it but I don’t know if it’s worse or better than the cloud 2 wireless, can you review it?
Great review, súper detail. The good thing is that you review all the products regardless of which video generates the most views. Best tech youtuber
never chasing #'s here, just having fun
Sir, can the v2 x's dpi buttons remap with another buttom function? Like do some macro things
Is the build quality on the V2x not as good as the V2 Pro? I have also compared it with the standard V2 and the V2x definitely makes noise when gripping aggressively. I'm not talking about squeezing it mad, just when accuracy is needed.
A mouse i never knew I needed haha Thanks for the super awesome and detailed review, good sir! Looking forward to more !!
I would love a refresh to the Mamba 🙏 I have the most recent one I believe with the optical sensor
Hey Techne! Any chance you will be reviewing the new steelseries 7p+ and 7+? Thank you!
Quick question: Does it 'hurt' the mouse if i put both bateries in it? Thank you. (i like a heavier mouse)
OMG!! Thanks so much The Thechne, I was wondering if I should buy this or the DA V2 pro
I want to know too. Who had better sensor, which should i buy?
Just bought one today, the texture was amazing!!! but the click sound kinda loud compared to deathadder essential. Im satisfied tho, worth the money. thanks techne
As a Basilisk X user, I can say is that the 5G sensor and hyperspeed works perfectly fine especially when gaming
V2 Pro is on sale now. Which one would u suggest? V2 x hyperspeed or V2 pro?
okay, this makes me want to get the V2 X ✋. it's an amazing review as always :)
Between Razer and Steelseries, which one has the best Ergo mouse? What is the best Ergo mouse from Steelseries, Prime+ ?? I play Call of Duty Warzone on PC and my hand size is medium. Please help... :(
Utk settingan tombol DPInya, bisa di rubah ke tombol lain kah kk? seperti dr DPI+ menjadi copy menggunakan setting macro... atau hanya sbg setting DPI +- saja?
does the plastic have dusty feeling like on new Cobra?
is it normal that whenever i lift my mouse(DA v2 x hyperspeed) and put it down lightly that the left mouse button activates? Or did I just get a defective model?
What would be a better pick the Orochi V2 or DA X Hyperspeed ??
Just got this mouse today after returning the normal Deathadder V2 because I just couldnt go back to a cable coming from a Logitech G Pro Wireless. Changed because the G Pro was just too small for my hands and my liking. Knowing the Deathadder is a perfect fit since I had the original Deathadder back then and also the 2013 edition, this was a no brainer for me and it still fits perfectly. I also wasnt sure about the DPI buttons but I can definitely confirm that you dont hit them, not even by accident. You really have to stretch your finger to reach them. I have to say this mouse is absolutely fantastic. The mechanical buttons have that nice satisfying click to them, better feeling than the optical on the normal V2 imo. Cant absolutely go wrong with the V2 X and when using the AAA battery, they are about the exact same weight. I recommend getting a USB extension cable which you can place in front of the mousepad where you can plug in the dongle for perfect connection.
i am in the same situation that you are, i had a deathadder long time ago and in 2020 i switched to a g pro but even after two years i found it small so i going back to deathadder and i am hoping for this wireless version
I bought a mechanical keyboard with a usb port on the backend, perfect plug & play for wireless mouse with crystal clear connection
The fact that it's only 60 bucks is enough for me to pick one up
heck of a deal!
Yeh man
manner why not model d like it's 20 more but I think its already a top tier
@@lucaswong6591 This one better than model d all day kid
@@veryinterestingpersonaliti8321 no
does it charge somehow or i have to change battery everytime? cause in that case it doesnt worth it
This is being on sale for 35usd in my region Or should I just get the v2 Pro for 65usd instead?
Glorious d or glorious d- or viper ultimate wireless???
I also realize the way the deathadder looks it reminded me of the original razer mamba from 2012
I use a deathadder elite for 2 years from now and I love that shape but I m thinking about a change for wireless mouse. Here I can see another option to buy for christmas/birthday
I watched until the end thinking I wasn't going to try this iteration, on the fence now lol
Just bought one on Amazon today. My first Razer product. Cant wait to test it out and finally stop gaming with a M705
Are the sides rubber grips or just bare plastic?
I literally just got my Deathadder v2 pro 2 weeks ago for like 45 bucks perfect condition open box on amazon, I think I'll just stick with that.
I wish the side buttons where a bit further towards the back/hump of the mouse. Super comfortable, but I sometimes struggle to comfortably reach the furthest back side button with my grip and I have 20 x 10.5 cm hands.
what does the X stands for right there? Is it for wireless right here?
Mi amigo Techne! :D Stinkin' cozy
i'm using the DA V2 Pro and i really like the optical switch
this is straight up the 1st gen Mamba. 1 of the best mice I have owned before
Got one a year ago never really used it But i tried it now and my aim is godly
I've bought this and will share my experiences, your enthusiasm is contagious!
How has it been holding up?
Want two right sided buttons in a wireless mouse (in addition to the two on the left)? The discontinued Roccat Leadr (spelling is correct) was well-ahead of its time. I hope they do an updated version.
I decided to get a mouse which 1 do I get 1-orochi v2 ' 2-proclicl mini ' 3- DeathAdder V2 X hyperspeed ?
@11:00 about the buttons: That's been exactly my gripe with razer. I owned a razer copperhead, was an amazing mouse at the time (ca.2008) and cheap ~50€ also lasted 6 years of heavy use and had 2 extra buttons to what is standard nowadays, I switched to a cheap off brand mouse that significantly wore out and switched to a Roccat Kova which has 10 buttons but the mouse wore out really fast too and is generally (I feel like) cheap quality. But I've gotten so damn used to having additional buttons, that I'm struggling to find a good new one. I think I'll settle with this very mouse because it's actually decently priced and the 2 extra buttons on top are basically a minimum requirement for me. Just went to the store and held a Logitech G502 and a Corsair Ironclaw and both have god awful scroll wheels in my opinion. Otherwise the G502 would have been my pick but it's over twice the price of the deathadder.
As a Basilisk x user . I hope they fix the switch . The switch on my basilisk x double clicking so bad for my unit after heavy use it for 3 month but the connection is awesome 😎
clicked this video with my Razer Mamba 2012 is give me specific feelings LOL. This DA X spill me some classic vibes of old Gen Razer's mice xD
so when we getting the Viper and Viper Mini X
Is it better than the Glorious model D?
I've been using a Logitech superlight that was 150 bucks for half a year and just got this mouse yesterday and already like it more. It's like half the price and better. 😅 The superlight is nice and all but it has very annoying overly sensitive buttons that I constantly accidentally pressed. Especially the rigt mouse button. Don't have this at all with the Deathadder v2 hyperspeed, the clicks require a bit more force to press and I love that. Also the fact you can tweak the weight by using a AA or AAA is just awesome. Love this thing. It's also super minimalistic and sleak without that rgb bullcrap.
can i use it with the wire only?
Your vids give me a cozy vibe
stay cozy!
I do like the side buttons on the top left.
Hey techne! Are you doing a rewiew on the steelseries aerox 3 2022 edition? Great vid btw
no plants. I looked at the clear version, same thing
@@TheTechne so the ghost and 2022 is more than not the same ok Thanks
Do I get the DeathAdder V2 X or the Halo V2?
does razer still have quality control issues tho ?
I just ordered this last night on Amazon I’m excited cuz I bought it used for $50 even though it’s around $120 originally
Gonna be pretty sweet when they make custom shells for this bad boy
Will there be a mercury variant?
Is the regular v2 is probably going to go on sale this black Friday. Would that be worth considering ?
razer always does goo BF sales
Thinking about this for 2nd pc as deathadder v2 pro is my fps main
Defo gunna snap one up 👌 hope it's as good as u say techne 😄
Awesome review!
I'll happily get this if it comes out in a mercury white color because I think the extra buttons on the left click button will be extremely useful to me but until then I'll just save my money
I have a keybind for every healing Item in Apex, but not for the Phoenix kit, I guess I'll bind it too those new side buttons
hey techne i was asking if you could review the aerox 3 or the g402 wired black, please :)
Why g402 is hyped up again?
Great mouse. But I'm still waiting for Razer to make their G Pro X Superlight competitor: sub 60g wirless mouse with rechargeable built-in battery
Although not sub 60g at 70g, the viper ultimate is that mouse.
Like a viper ultimate but lighter? Me too Hopefully its not as expensive as the GPX
your review is stinkin awesome😅🤩
Hey Techne! Is it possible that you review the Odins new mouse pad the Odin eclipse?
yeah, coming in a video this week actually ;)
@@TheTechne great can’t wait to watch it
This is almost the perfect 2012 Mamba replacement. Wish the plastic was of higher quality, and it lacks the rubber inlays for me. No chroma, perfect. Bluetooth and replacable battery that you can pick up any day of the week, perfect.
im switching to this from a deathadder elite, and i honestly never even have RGB on, i turned it off at one point, never bothered to switch.
Does this mouse have a double clicking issue?
Now We're waiting for Viper mini X
Can the two little buttons on top (dpi) be used for other mapping or are they only for dpi?
mapping
@@TheTechne can the dpi buttons on the left clicker be disabled too? I only need the side buttons. Also, does it save the mappings on the mouse? Like if I use the mouse on another computer with no razer synapse software, will it remember it's settings? I've read it has memory on it?
up-scroll rattle?
Man I was just looking for a mouse and I see this sweet deal
How is this comparing to the orochi v2? Considering between this mouse and the orochi at the moment
much bigger
the thing about that texture is that it becomes shiny and smooth after use so it's not really a selling point in my opinion
just ordered this for a travel gaming mouse!
I still have my Basilisk X. Best mouse for work because it has an onboard memory.
the outside flare is breaking my pinky flinger just looking at it....
