828. PARIS STORIES with Amber Minogue
Amber returns to the podcast to tell us some grisly stories about the history of Paris. Amber is a bit of an expert about Paris. She has read pretty much every book about the city and is also a registered tour guide here. A few years ago she set up a podcast called Paname Podcast (Paname is a nickname for Paris). Each episode contains a true story from history, with tales of battle, execution, romance, tragedy and adventure. You can get it where you get your podcasts. In this episode Amber comes onto LEP to share a few stories from her podcast series.

Wouldn't it be just brilliant if you two started doing this sort of episodes every now and then under a specific name? 🤩 I loved it, I’d really like to see you more talking about historical events and stuff ❤
We need more episodes like this! History lessons from Amber and funny comments from Luke!
I really loved her presence. She is such a really happy woman.
Thank you for a great episode! Amber is indeed always awesome!
I loved this episode, Amber is an awesome storyteller ❤
Just another great and very helpful Podcasts from our favorite English Channel. I like listening to people chatting (or speaking) as they do in their everyday routine. In my opinion that is the best way to get your ears accustomed to the sound and rhythm of the English language. Keep on listening(always) and Greetings from Spain 👍
You're right Luke, Amber has such a lovely voice. It is a real pleasure to listen to her and you of course. Thank you for sharing this conversation.

Thank you for this episode, Luke. I found it very fascinating. I am French and I didn’t know at all about these stories, especially the one about the gibet in the Middle Ages. Amber is a great storyteller, just as you. And thank you for your kindness. You are great. 😊

Great episode, thanks Amber and teacher Luke.
Hello Luke, I am Adrish from India. I have learnt a lot from your podcast episodes and I would like to thank you from the core of my heart. This episode was brilliant. I like your pronunciation a lot, crystal clear and crisp. I would like to humbly request you to have more Roald Dahl short stories on your podcast. Take care, once again thanks a lot Luke to be my lighthouse in the vast ocean of learning English.
I have my older brother living near Paris for 50 years, in Orleans, and his son and daughter were born there, and his woman was also from France, she died 4 years ago. They lived in EU for some years because of my brother's work, well, his family remain in France, but they vidit him very often, and spend there their holidays, so. they could travel all around the country, and they like it very much. We worked in John Deere since he was on his twenteis, and had to travel a lot. at first. He stayed in living in Iowa city for some years and he had to learn English, tough he dorsn't like very much, but I love this language too much. ❤❤💜💜🌆
Thank you vere much ❤
Sri your casts very helpful for people t Thank you you are good person
I really enjoyed the last part of this episode - that one you didn´t published here, on KZhead (your rambling around what´s going on in your days now). I enjoyed it not because I like poking my nose into other people's things, but because it was "so normal talk around what it is to be a parent".... Thank you.
Amber's stories are brilliant and she is amazing 😍 I haven't been listening to the podcast for long time, but this episode really has got me back, really a lucky pick from all missed episodes) And made me realise how much I missed it and... I missed a lot nice events in you life, Luke, I guess))) Sorry for too many words "miss")
❤ thanks for both your efforts

I love Amber's "Microphone also moves."
Good morning sir. Ur speaking English is out and out impaccable. Earlier Ur voice has sweetness and subsequently it has got power in it. Each and every words spoken by u are completely crystal clear. The way you make understand any topic is overwhelming. Sir ur style of speaking English is spick and span. I am ur big fan sir.
she's my favorite LEP gang!
Could it ever be possible that a husband and wife have such a sweet and interesting conversation?
Why you desire impossible desirs??
Excellent ❤
Luke, you are my lighthouse always guiding me, My hallowed teacher in my heart you will always be.
I'd like to see Amber more😊
Lovely stories shared with us.
Great stories! I would love to hear Amber talking about Allan Kardec
Brilliant 👍👍
Ohhhhhh I listened to this episode a lot of times when I drove to work and home Woooow so interesting😊
Yaaaaayyy Amber 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I Love Luke’s guitar!
Her voice is lovely 💚
Heey, I just finished listening the episode about Yiddish words in English yesterday while I was cleaning the house)) I will listen the next one and then will come back to that one. It's great to see and hear Amber again, although I miss Paul too) Btw, Luke, if you may, and if you will have time for this, please, consider just to ask Amber about depiction Paris in different ermm "art sources", like books, paintings, films and games and what are tge contridictions if there are any. Speaking of games, I mean "Assassin's Creed: Unity" specifecally. I don't know if you know but there were rumours that the model of Notre-Dam from the Unity would be used as an... example (?) for restavration of the real Notre-Dam. Is a bit of a myth as I understand, yet still, a great tale :D And the depiction of Paris of times of the Revolution is great there - it's almost like postapocalipsys there. And parcour. And young Napoleon. The story is a bit boring though
Lovely episode
Hello Luke, I am from 🇮🇳 INDIA. I love your podcast.
Welcome back ambeeerrr ❤
Dark and violence is the best part in a story!
Goodmorning to you two! From Italy.
It's an awesome episode, I love everything in this podcast considering history. I think there's a lack of information on historical topics for English learners on KZhead
Thank you Luke! Great stories told by your guest MrsMinogue! Even though I didn't get some words and phrases, that was awesome! If I got you right, the battle on Waterloo was an object of some jokes, like you said, "The battle was either on the water, or in the loo" - nice joke! I would like to read a script of this conversation just to know how much I got correct. Is that possible, isn't it? Best regards!
Amber tell the story so excited!! But Luke uses simplier language than Amber. I have to check the words in dictionary. I will look forward a new episode with Amber. Thanks
wow luke even it's not an entire day and there're 10k views i'll learn how to be persistent from you ❤ because you've been working so hard specially when you started doing this podcast back in 2009 greeting from the middle east❤
Good morning ❤
Luke one-color Shirt looks really good on you! Also crew-neck Shirt would be a good idea too! I’m in fashion field, this is why i aware the difference first ☺️
you can listen to her indefinitely ....
Namaskar🙏 I am from Nepal 🇳🇵
Good chanel! 👍👍
If you want to add a touch of magic to a story, invite Amber to relate it.
especially about Paris
Hi Luke. Just a quick clarification. 0:25 I thought I can invite you back on the show. Can or could? Thanks for your fantastic service.
Listen. Listen and listen again until I all understand
Hi Luke I am wondering when you used present tense when talking about the history of France. Any guy can explain?😊
It’s actually very common to use present tense to tell stories.
Good morning It's afternoon here though😂
Luke, thank you for the episode. By the way, when will we see the director’s cut version of this episode without the cut, like at 32:54? :) Mb there was something interesting? I like stories about crusaders
Feeling sad about the deleted episode with Maria. She’s a great teacher and a great person. It’s a shame that people like her and other Russian fans of the podcast like me - those who really enjoyed the episode and Maria’s appearance on the podcast - are affected by politics. I just hope you understand that not all Russians support the Russian government on what they’re doing. Thanks anyway for publishing the episode, even for a short time😢 it was nice seeing you two talking about ielts and imagining that things are not too bad for a moment
watching this video ive just realised how funny the word waterloo is😀 water, loo
❤❤❤❤❤
Is there any transcript for this episode?
I like native conversation speed. .
❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Excuse me, have you deleted the last episode about IETLS ? I hop not 😢 , because the was very useful. And I don’t finish it yet.
Did you remove the last video with Maria ((((:
What is amber's podcast channel ?
Check the link in the description.
Wow
So sad to say Versailles to Paris.

Hello. What is the meaning of the "gibbit"
We define it during the conversation, don’t we? Anyway, here’s a definition (it’s actually spelled “gibbet”) dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/gibbet
And now I just listened like dark stories and I stopped again. Hopefully, I find something suitable 😅
I think she likes him, well... I'm sure that.
Sri I am improve my English for casta ❤❤
Do you have history in England?
We lost it unfortunately. It’s probably down the back of the sofa or something.
