"We don't want thus snake eating the fish" (relocates snake 11 feet from where they removed it) "alright that should do it 👍"
It is a harmless brown water snake (Nerodia taxispilota), they are non-venomous and harmless. That is a young one only a few years old adults can grow to five feet or more. They are quite common in the Southeastern part of the US. Their main diet is fish and amphibians but will also eat earthworms, leeches and crayfish. One of their favorites are catfish! Glad to see it was not harmed and was let go to live it’s life!
Actually I've been studying snakes for a long time if you look at the pattern you will see that it's a water moccasin or a python but the size is a bit different from the original brown water snake so your answer is unclear because we can't see the belly witch in this case we do not know if it's a water moccasin or python but definitely not a brown water snake
I’m sorry but it is very clearly a Brown water snake. The morphology, color and pattern are all diagnostic for Nerodia taxispilota. A quick search on any search engine will pull up tons of photos of brown water snakes that match this animal to a T. Cottonmouths are shorter bodied and very chunky, they also lack the blotchy pattern of a water snake. Cottonmouths also swim unlike any water snake; the whole body “floats” on top of the water with the head clearly elevated. Cottonmouths also have a light colored to white color on the sides of the face with a dark stripe running from the tip of the nose through the eye then to the upper jaw. Cottonmouths also have a vertical cat like pupil as well as a heat sensing pit between the eye and the nostril. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Brown_Water_Snake.jpg en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Watersnake_cottonmouth_tennessee.png reptile-database.reptarium.cz/species?genus=Agkistrodon&species=piscivorus
@@joshuapalmer265 like I said we don't know if it's a brown water snake or cottonmouth or Burmese python because we can not see the the head very clear or the belly so no one knows not even a zoologist could tell FYI

Hi
It's either a Brown Water Snake or a Banded Water Snake - both are harmless. I'm leaning more towards the banded since they're more common and a little more slender. That one was incredibly docile.
Yeah I agree looks like a banded

Yes😊
its a harmless corn snake the black and white checkered belly is what gives it away its absolutely a corn snake the exact name for that color phase is (everglades corn snake)AKA Okeetee corn snake
Sorry but wrong everglades rat snakes are yellowish to orangeish in color
If your a her herpetologists then you should know that yes your right about the coloration as hatchlings but then mature and turn a nice beautiful yellowish orangeish. Color i should know i own 2 males and one female along with a blue eyes lusistic ball python and a yellowbelly fireball het for albino ball python had them for atleast 4 years now
Not sure why my phone subed rat for corn but what was meant was CORN snake the phase is an everglades corn snake aka Okeetee corn snake they are in the Rat snake family and do interbreed I have raised both rat and corn snakes for more then 30 years and I am a Herpetologist and run a rescue for snakes here of all types.
there was a lady in florida who sold Herps the company was Florida Heprs she was known for rare Phase corn snakes not sure what happened to that company but they no longer come up on the net. the glades rat have yellow around the lower head and neck and onto the belly but none that I have seen continue the yellow the full belly length down to the tail. as hatchlings they are completely different looking I've seen them in 2 phases grey under color with black bands and a ruddy looking brownish orange with black bands here in the north they never get to the Orange and yellow phase they stay in that ruddy looking brownish orange with black bands and always start out as Grey and black for the first year or two depending on how well they grow. They are picky eaters as hatchlings here in the north so loss of hatchlings is very high up here unless you force feed them. I have saved more then 100 hatchlings by feeding them ferret food ground to a powder and mixed with water to a slurry you have to feed them with a syringe. at present I have more then 60 snakes 68 to be exact Garters, Hognose, corns, rats, kings, pythons, boa's and 1 Milk snake I had a copperhead for a week that had a tail squashed by a car and was pinned to the road I freed him and made sure the tail docked without issues before releasing him back to the area he came from.
This is a blotched water snake. Check out how the color marks aren't really connected but they make up sort of a checker board pattern.
Yea

Its a venomous snake. Beacause its head was peaking out of the water. Just his head

I can't tell what kind of snake it is but I can tell you it is most definetly NOT a water mocasin. You can tell by the patterning and the head. Water mocasins have a wider and shorter snout while nonvenomous snakes (like the one in the video) have more slender and longer snouts.

lol that is NOT a Cotton mouth (Water Moccasin) and also NOT a Python. It's a common water snake. If it was a Cotton mouth that guy would have been bitten. To the guy that picked the snake up: If you have no clue what species of snake you are messing with, DO NOT mess with it. Any of the vipers would/could have come back on you so fast you would not have time to pull away.
cotton mouths are not that aggressive but you right about that not being one
You are a hundred percent right
I agree I live I NH and the only deadly snake is a brush rattlesnake and I will still not touch any wild snake even with how rare the brush rattlesnake is I would never
Youre kinda right its like a baby phyton. 🤔
How do the fish get in there initially?
Guys you need to appreciate theses videos more
definitely not a water moccasin/cottonmouth the head is different and before you say it banded water snakes (what that is) flatten out their head when they're threatened to look like a cottonmouth, you can see in one of the first clips with the snake how it's head looks compared to a cottonmouth plus cottonmouths don't have those colors
its a corn snake
You are right. The majority of venomous snakes in the US, except the coral snake, have an arrow or triangle shaped head. The head on that snake was not shaped right to be a water moccasin.

WoW the snake is so big
You're insane for being scared of a small nonvenomous snake. LOL
I mean, I get from ur standpoint, but like if u have no knowledge of snakes and dont know if its poisonous or not, it's kinda normal to cautious and scared. I mean, if a person randomly found a wild snake and tried to pet it I would call them stupid. Small or not
@Levi Bratton ur wrong. cat eyes means the snake is nocturnal. some nonvenomous snakes can puff up their cheeks to make their head look triangular. looks like YOU the one lacking common knowledge.
The triangular head and “cat eyes” are poor indicators of venomous snake identification. Body shape, scale type, coloration, habitat etc are much better ways to help lead to an identity of an unknown snake. If you live in an area that has venomous snakes the wise thing to do is try to find a website that shows the snake species of your state or go to the library and see if there are any books on reptiles that are specific to your area/state. Then try to make yourself familiar to the venomous species. Also if you cannot identify a snake it is best to just leave it alone, it will go on it’s way and leave you alone. DO NOT try to kill the snake! Not only is it cruel to do so but most venomous snake bites occur when someone was trying to kill the poor snake. Also remember snakes are just animals at the end of the day. There is no need to fear them or kill them, they are just another one of God’s many wonderful creations that are here for a reason and are vital to the ecosystem. They have been on the planet for 150 million years so let’s keep them around for another 150 million!
@@yuukig7479 If you have no knowledge about snakes and can't tell whether its venomous or not, why would you try to pet it? Its much safer to just avoid it altogether. I can tell venomous from nonvenomous, but I still wouldn't try just to handle it. Remember even nonvenomous snakes have teeth that can inflict painful bites which can get infected neverthelss. But to overreact as if it was a large creature like a crocodile or a bear is over the top. Besides you aware snakes are as afraid of us as we are of them? Given a choice, a snake would rather slitter away and avoid human contact. If they spot you from a distance, they would hide, not attack you. Only if they are cornered or physically harmed would they result to strike a person as a last ditch effort to avoid confrontation with a human.
