    • I don't know how you sit in the embody like that. I have to sit in it with my ass near the back or else it doesn't feel comfortable. But then I find the s shape makes my back hurt after some time. But I am slowly adapting to it I think.

I can vouch for the pain your body goes through adapting to proper posture. Now I am considering the Anthros since the material on my current chair has peeled.

  • Great video! A couple things to add. #1- We have a fully operational production site in Grand Rapids Michigan (the mecca of office chair manufacturing). We are currently capable of shipping hundreds of chairs per week and are very rapidly delivering our pre-orders. #2- The fabric shown in this video is a high performance digital knit boucle fabric designed to maximize immersion and comfort. We also have an alternative leatherette option. #3- The 4-leg base is designed for hard floors and allows your feet to stay within the legs of the base vs a 5-leg base, which spins around the chair. We appreciate the honest review!

    • I was about to write you guys a mail about this, but maybe/hopefully you read this comment, and others can agree/disagree! Europe rarely gets love in terms of ergonomic chairs from abroad; few brands, few chairs and even less optional add-ons. - Unless it's one of the rare companies who is actually based in Europe we just don't see a lot of chair variety. And personally I'd freaking love to see this in Europe. Without personally having the experience to compare the culture of the people US v. EU, I do know Europeans tend to fairly interested in "health over comfort" (I'm sure you know what I mean), but there are simply not really any chairs to accommodate that, as far as I'm aware. And a side-note FROM experience is I hope you would set up a station in Europe (a lot of companies choose Germany for the practical aspect of shipping from the center of Europe), not use an authorized seller. It's just not as comfortable for the customer from my experience.

  • I assembled the chair this morning with no issue (May 24 order). I was baffled by my 4 wheel base when I spun. I then watched your video regarding the 4-wheel base not rotating. I'm not too fond of the 4 wheel base. I called Customer Service this morning to see if I can swap/buy the 5-wheel base instead. I had the Steelcase Leap v2, and I cannot sit on it for too long as the posture becomes slouching. I enjoyed Anthro chair's aggressive back support. At 5.4 feet, the tilting back puts my feet in the air, so the footrest helps.

  • First off, awesome review! Loved to finally see a good, in depth take on this chair. I've been anxiously following the Anthros chair development for quite some time and have had one pre-ordered for over a year. Recently had a chance to sit in one locally and have to say that it is incredibly comfortable and supportive. Coming from a HM Embody, I think this one takes the cake. Unfortunately I am in the same boat it seems at some other pre-orders where there have been shipping delays and push backs in shipment dates. Was originally estimated to have mine shipped out early October and has since been pushed to next week. Hoping for the best and can't wait to actually get this in my office space.

  • I liked Mr. Ahn's review. So much that I ordered an Anthros chair. I have had it a week. I made a couple of homespun changes: 1. I placed an upholstered 3" thick polyurethane foam seat cushion on top of the Anthros basic seat. 2. I placed an ordinary black medium sized pillow behind my back in the lumbar region, where the Anthros chair has an air gap. Result: much more comfortable for long sitting sessions. I am an Architect. I have to sit, sometimes for days at a time. I know that Anthros will say their scientists can prove me wrong. They are correct. However, all I know is that I am keeping the chair, but my questionable additions have turned the chair into a much more comfortable experience for the long term. Don't get me wrong: I AM keeping the chair. best office chair I've ever had. Better than the Herman Miller Aero I've been using for the last 12 years. As a matter of fact, that's where my homespun cushions came from. So: I vote YES on the Anthros chair, with some very modest adds.

  • just got mine 2 days ago. feels WAY to cheap of build quality for $2000 + , the arm rests are cheap af, wobble all over the place, also not flat for some reason so it causes your forearms and elbows to slip off easily. The base, not only has the front and back wobble even when LOCKED, like other cheap chairs. mine also has side to side wobble.... unacceptable for such a expensive chair. also using the pelvic support is annoying AF, as every time you sit in the chair you have to back it up and reset it, otherwise you will be sitting too far forward in the chair, and more on top of and in front of, in stead of properly supported from more underneath it etc. i highly doubt i am so unlucky and just got a defective unit... at least for the base, the arms are still gonna wobble like crazy. For all the cheap plastics of the chair, it should be no more than $500-$1000 range. its very clear, the chair was designed with maximum profits in mind, rather than quality. #capitalism

It takes getting used to, and I sit in it irregularly enough that I kind of have to get used to it all over again each time. But I've never experienced support like this in any other chair. It really does what they say it does. I think there's something wrong with my recline tension knob, which I didn't realize until I saw you use it on your chair, and it's stuck at full tension so I can't recline, so I'll have to contact them about that, but everything else has been amazing.

And while I appreciate the design and back/pelvic support idea the price is insane, and especially the price for the "Specialty" back add-on seems ... let's say debatable to me - by that I mean $150 for 2 pieces of plastic with a circuit board sticker on it, cannot possibly cost more than $5 to produce.

  • Hi. First off I'm very ergo rebellious. I tend to lean back a lot. As a 30 year career pilot, I find the most comfortable chair being the one found in the cockpit of an airliner. Only a full fat leather lounge chair would be more comfortable. So what's interesting is that some people would refurbish an airliner cockpit chair and put wheels on them. Would be very interesting if you could give that a look see.

I do wish it had a headrest for leaning back, but as mentioned in the video, it wasn't necessarily meant to be a lounging chair (for long periods). It's a tough one for me...but here are the questions I'd ask... 1. Do you like maximum freedom in a chair? If so, Anthros is the way to go 2. Do you like maximum breathability in a chair? If so, Aeron is your pick 3. Do you like to lounge for long periods? If so, Aeron + headrest is your pick 4. Do you prefer a cushier seat and backrest? If so, Anthros is the way to go Hope this helps! Whichever you decide, please consider using my links as it helps the channel a LOT! And i would love to know what you end up with!!

I’m in it for the second day, and yes there is some discomfort but that’s because I’ve been sitting in crap chairs and slouching for about 20yrs now and my back is always out of whack. I can tell without a shadow of a doubt that this chair has me in the right position, just after the first long day in it I felt more balance when I stood up and was walking around. It’s really hard to explain.

    • Currently in an Embody, Im the same height but weigh much less. I have an Anthros on its way since I preordered it forever ago. @bigafhat@bigafhat6 ай бұрын
    • It is an upgrade in terms of proper sitting. The Embody lets you get away with a lot of improper sitting (see the timestamp in the pinned comment about how I sit in the Embody!). I'm not saying that the Embody doesn't encourage good sitting, but rather you can easily do both...but if you're like me, you'll do more bad then good. Nothing can be worse than the PoS Aeron, id rather sit on a tree stump. I just hope it locks up right TIGHTLY. as that was my biggest gripe with the Logitech embody, that even when locked upright, it still wobbled like 1/2 inch or so. also the backrest top corners hurt your shoulders, and the garbage armrests. and of course the ridiculous price. my favie part of the embody was the seat, very comfortable with the little but cut out for tail bone pressure etc. ive been hoping for a V2 version of the Embody, but i guess its not coming, as they have now made 2 Gamer chair lesser models instead.

    • Fair point! Should have mentioned I’ve had it now for 3 weeks, sitting on it for 4-8 hours a day, and I own nearly all the high end chairs to compare to. No issues whatsoever and I’m kinda heavy. At this point, I can pretty much tell what cushions will flatten in a few months (comparing chairs sub $200 with the highest end chairs and from personal experience e.g. 2x Haworth Ferns I’ve been sitting on for almost 2 years). The cheaper foam just goes straight down with no resistance and a very quick spring back. Also, the density and thickness is also a good tell (Steelcase leap stock cushion isn’t all that thick. Pressing down on it, you can feel the hard bottom.) I didn’t know this, but it seems like the people at anthros were focused on making wheelchairs or wheelchair parts, one of which was the seat pad, which explains why the seat cushion is so dang good. In the end, you are correct. Only time will tell, and hopefully, anthros will hold up their end of the 12 year warranty if anything does go wrong with it.

With 4D arm rest it starts at like 2k$ and if you add colors etc you want it goes very fast up to like 2500$. Thats a huge chunk of money for a chair, even if it lasts you 10 years (at that point its probably worth it), but you gotta pay it here and now. Cant do more then wait for more people to try it out, prefferably the regular guy who buys it out of their own pocket without affiliates and getting it sent by the company. I wonder if this chair is any good for taller people who sits leaned forward, most gamers sits pretty aggressive when they play (leaned forward towards their monitor). With this chair it seems to make you sit in place, if you get what i mean.

I occasionally go through what it auto filters out and some of the comments are totally normal, and some of them call me homophobic slurs lol. Don’t get this chair if you lean forward in your chair. My bro in law came to my studio this week and LOVED the chair of all my chairs bc he felt like it was instantly making him sit properly (the best use case for the chair). Check out Reddit and stuff to see other reviews. I get the suspicion people have of me sometimes, but I do keep everything Ahnest here! The question I ask back (and never get a response to lol) is how should I do my business model? Nobody donates money to me like on twitch (maybe a total of $80 last year!) and chairs aren’t a sexy topic, so ad revenue isn’t gonna cut it. How do I buy and review multiple $2,000+ chairs and stay in business? The only person who could really do it would be a multimillionaire who is fine just throwing away money (which does not exist)…and I doubt that person would choose to review chairs! So yes, I’m an affiliate, but look at how I’ve handled chairs in the past (see my recent Razer chair review…the Razer fan boys disliked that one quite a bit!) and hopefully that’ll tell you that I only endorse products I like. I know it’s not ideal, but this way, it doesn’t cost you anything! And bc of this, I’m able to do something no one else can - I can compare every chair to many other chairs that exist out there in a similar price range and say “of all the 100ish chairs I’ve tested, I think the anthros is best for really encouraging you to sit properly”.

    • My tailbone pain got sorted with the Aeron remastered, and it's actually cheaper to buy than this chair.

    • @@StardustLegacyFighter Coolness, thanks for the insight. This calls for a new video suggestion for the channel: Aeron remasterd must be pitted with the Anthros Chair. :-) ✟🙏🏻⛪ to see who's really who.

    • @SevenDeMagnus Not by Ahnestly, as he's been really biased recently. I think BTOD does a better job of making objective reviews nowadays.

    • Curious - how have I been biased? My last 2 reviews were me not loving the chair!

  • Who can afford close to $2,000 for a chair?!

    • Some ppl can, but I think the issue is that this chair has doubled in price.

  • 16:10 these fees won't affect you because you're spending 800-1800$ on a chair.

    • $100 is 12.5% of $800 and 5% of $1,800. That’s quite a bit of money!
