You go in a cage and fight for the title against your competition trying to take or defend the title. You ain’t gonna kiss ass or make friends. You grind, workout, training camp, diet, Weight cuts as-well as taking fight on short notice without any proper preparation . Between all that some may forget being humble and let cockiness or ingnorance get the best off them so may the best man win. Luke just got too comfortable and that was his downfall. Idk how to feel about Yoel. He was a beast in the UFC and got multiple titles opportunities which I think out of his last 5 fights, 4 of them were for the title but he didn’t show up against Izzy whatsoever completely refusing to engage while I do think he should have gotten the belt off Whitaker in their second fight with the knockdowns but all the other times he missed weight and was ineligible to win the belt just like this fight with Rockhold. Had he just made weight he would have at least left the UFC as a former UFC interim champ rather than a guy who gets cut right after a title shot.

All Luke needed to do was sort out that block. Mike Bisping even said to him after utilising it ‘you leave that right arm down all the time’ and he just never listened. I also personally think he knew what he brought to the table so he could be kinda arrogant but you can’t be when u still haven’t sorted out that crucial mistake cuz, unfortunately for him, it bit him in the ass. Still truly skilled and he’s training with a great coach now in Jason Parillo so he should have sorted it out by now you’d think, so I hope he makes a comeback.

What do you mean? Yeah sportsmanship is a way to keep it professional but in the end it’s all in the name of the sport. You go in a cage and fight for the title against your competition trying to take or defend the title. You ain’t gonna kiss ass or make friends. You grind, workout, training camp, diet, Weight cuts as-well as taking fight on short notice without any proper preparation . Between all that some may forget being humble and let cockiness or ingnorance get the best off them so may the best man win. Luke just got too comfortable and that was his downfall. It happens to the best ex: Connor, adesanya, Aldo, Liddell, stipe.

Idk how to feel about Yoel. He was a beast in the UFC and got multiple titles opportunities which I think out of his last 5 fights, 4 of them were for the title but he didn’t show up against Izzy whatsoever completely refusing to engage while I do think he should have gotten the belt off Whitaker in their second fight with the knockdowns but all the other times he missed weight and was ineligible to win the belt just like this fight with Rockhold. Had he just made weight he would have at least left the UFC as a former UFC interim champ rather than a guy who gets cut right after a title shot.
I'd day Izzy refused to engage more than Yoel.
All Luke needed to do was sort out that block. Mike Bisping even said to him after utilising it ‘you leave that right arm down all the time’ and he just never listened. I also personally think he knew what he brought to the table so he could be kinda arrogant but you can’t be when u still haven’t sorted out that crucial mistake cuz, unfortunately for him, it bit him in the ass. Still truly skilled and he’s training with a great coach now in Jason Parillo so he should have sorted it out by now you’d think, so I hope he makes a comeback.
